Abstract

Ketersediaan peralatan keselamatan nelayan penangkap dan pengangkut ikan merupakan salah satu faktor utama dalam menjamin keselamatan nelayan saat melakukan operasi penangkapan ikan. Insiden bisa terjadi kapan saja pada nelayan tanpa diduga. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kelengkapan alat keselamatan serta menganalisis tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan nelayan yang mendaratkan kapalnya di Pelabuhan Perikanan Untia dalam menggunakan alat keselamatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Untia Kota Makassar, yakni mulai pada Bulan Agustus hingga Bulan Oktober Tahun 2022. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode survei lapangan, wawancara terstruktur dan studi literatur. Wawancara terstruktur dilakukan kepada nelayan purse seine, pancing ulur, dan nelayan pengangkut ikan yang ber-gross tonage kapal < 30GT. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan menguraikan data dalam bentuk tabel, gambar dan narasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat keselamatan berupa life jacket, radio dan kompas tersedia di setiap kapal responden, namun tidak semua kapal menyiapkan life buoy, APAR, peralatan P3K, echosounder, dan fish finder. Mayoritas kapal nelayan Pelabulan Perikanan Untia juga menyiapkan alat keselamatan konvensional berupa ban dalam, ban luar dan sempang. Selain itu, mayoritas responden mengakui telah mengetahui dan terampil dalam penggunaan dan perawatan alat keselamatan nelayan, meskipun beberapa diantaranya menyatakan berada dalam taraf cukup mengetahui.

Abstract

Certain individuals residing in Aeng Batu-Batu Village are engaged in the cultivation of seaweed (Kappaphycus alvaezii). However, the community encounters a challenge in identifying suitable areas for seaweed farming. The objective of this study is to assess the appropriateness of the waters for cultivating seaweed. The present study was carried out in June 2023. The exploration method utilized in this study seeks to ascertain the degree of suitability exhibited by the waters for seaweed cultivation. An Aeng Batu-Batu Village sampling procedure was implemented, consisting of three repetitions. A unique set of water quality parameters was acquired at each sampling point. In descending order, the values of each parameter are presented. Current velocity (23.62-11.47 cm/s), depth (5-2 meters), water clarity (3.35-2.3 meters), pH (7.91-7.73), salinity (27-23 ppt), temperature (30-28 °C), phosphate (0.0362-0.0122 mg/L), and nitrate (0.069-0.014 mg/L). The water suitability matrix indicates that 185.06 ha of the valley's water is suitable for seaweed cultivation in Aeng Batu-Batu Village, while 0.3 hectare of the valley's water is unsuitable for seaweed cultivation.

Abstract

Ekosistem mangrove merupakan ekosistem yang memiliki produktivitas tinggi. Salah satu ekosistem mangrove terdapat pada Kawasan Lantebung Kota Makassar Sulawesi Selatan. Lantebung merupakan destinasi wisata yang banyak dikunjungi untuk menikmati keindahan alamnya, namun seringkali mendapatkan sampah kiriman sebagai dampak dari pergerakan arus dan pasang surut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah diharapkan dapat memberikan kesadaran kebersihan lingkungan dan memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat bahwa sampah yang dihasilkan memberikan dampak buruk bagi perkembangan biota dan ekosistem mangrove. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan adalah dengan metode observasi, persiapan dan aksi dengan pendekatan metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan yang bersifat ‘persuasif-edukatif’, yang dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman dalam menanggulangi pencemaran perairan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian telah berjalan dengan baik dan lancar sesuai dengan rencana kegiatan yang telah disusun. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat dan wisatawan terhadap pentingnya menjaga kebersihan pantai serta meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan di Ekowisata Mangrove Lantebung.

Abstract

Kabupaten Pangkajene Kepulauan salah satu daerah produksi rajungan. Selama ini hasil tangkapan rajungan berukuran kecil dan jumlahnya sedikit. Penangkapan rajungan dilakukan menggunakan alat tangkap gill net dan bubu. Tujuan kegiatan PKM adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam pembuatan keramba serta meningkatkan kualita ukuran rajungan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai September 2024. Lokasi PKM berada di Desa Pitusunggu. Pelaksanaan pelatihan meliputi pemaparan materi pelatihan, pendampingan pembuatan keramba, monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian yaitu masyarakat nelayan mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang budidaya rajungan sistem keramba. Hal ini dapat menjadi alternatif dalam peningkatan pendapatan nelayan.Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pelatihan, didapatkan bahwa teknik budidaya rajungan dapat dilakukan pada ukuran rajungan yang kecil pada sistem keramba.Selama kegiatan pelatihan masyarakat menyatakan bahwa terjadi penambahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang budidaya rajungan pada keramba.

Abstract

Tuna and skipjack tuna are capture fishery commodities that have a strategic role for the fisheries sector in Indonesia. The potential of skipjack tuna which is the target of fishing by fishermen in Nabire Regency has not been fully studied in detail so that data sources for the utilization of skipjack tuna are very limited and for the sake of sustainable utilization, a structured study is needed. The purpose of the study was to analyze the distribution of size and mature size of skipjack tuna gonads in Cenderawasih Bay. The research method applied survey methods and direct sample measurements in the field. The results showed that the size of skipjack tuna ranged from 25 - 52 cm. Male and female skipjack tuna were caught in mature gonad conditions and were caught a lot in TKG IV.

Abstract

Coleus blumei (miana) can be used as an antimicrobial, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. Research on miana leaf extract in feed to increase the immune response of whiteleg shrimp has not been found. This study aims to analyze miana leaf extract in feed on the immune response of whiteleg shrimp. The study was conducted in July 2023 at the Hasanuddin University Laboratory and the Bogor Agricultural Institute Laboratory. The method used was a completely randomized design, 4 treatments and 3 replications, extracts of 0 g, 1 g, 2.5 g, and 7.5 g/kg of feed. The statistical results of the treatment gave a significant effect (p<0.05) on total hemocytes and phenoloxidase activity but did not give a significant effect (p>0.05) on the survival of whiteleg shrimp. The extract of 7.5 g/kg of feed had the highest impact on total hemocytes 8.43x103 cells/mm3, phenoloxidase activity 0.222 optical density ƛ=490, and 100% survival. The extract of 0 g/kg feed had the lowest impact on total hemocytes, 2.37x103 cells/mm3, phenoloxidase activity of 0.09 Optical Density ƛ=490, and survival of 90%. Conclusion, Coleus blumei leaf extract in feed can improve the immune response and survival of whiteleg shrimp. The recommended concentration in aquaculture is 7.5 g/kg.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi perikanan tangkap merupakan salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tangkapan yang diharapkan ramah lingkungan dalam pemanfaatan sumberdaya perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola kedatangan dan jenis tangkapan ikan pada alat tangkap drift gill net, dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai bulan September 2019 diperairan Galesong Utara Kabupaten Takalar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksploratif dan dilakukan dengan mengambil data hasil tangkapan menggunakan Fihsfinder pada Drift gill net. Pengambilan data dengan mengikuti operasi penangkapan selama 30 Trip. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bawa pola kedatangan ikan pada kedalaman 0-30 Meter dengan Frekuensi 50 KHz kisaran suhu 27-29°C serta kecepatan arus di kisaran 8,24 m/s. Pengamatan Fishfinder ikan Schooling secara horizontal dan vertikal mengikuti arah gerak arus dari arah Selatan bibir pantai. Pola kedatangan ikan dikarenakan terdapat banyak sumber makanan terbawa arus. komposisi jenis hasil tangkapan ikan paling banyak tertangkap pada Drift gill net seperti ikan Tembang (Sardinella gibbosa) sebanyak 80% atau 2.495 ekor (kisaran Panjang 10.5-12.5 cm), ikan peperek (Leiognathus equulus) sebanyak 109 ekor, ikan layang (Detapterus pusailus) sebanyak 3 ekor, ikan layur (Trichiurus savala) sebanyak 2 ekor, ikan kembung (Alepes djedeba) sebanyak 2 ekor. Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa operasi penangkapan Drift gill net menggunakan alat bantu Fishfinder memiliki hasil tangkapan lebih banyak, pola kedatangan ikan mengikuti arah arus menuju ke arah utara baik secara bergerombol maupun individu.

Abstract

The appearance of whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) is related to the availability of food in certain waters and is a tourist attraction so integrated management is needed so that they do not become a threat to whale sharks. Whale sharks appear regularly and take place throughout the year with the largest number of individuals only occurring in Kwatisore waters. This study aims to examine the bioecology of whale sharks, which is related to appearance based on individuals, number and time of appearance and sex. Primary data collection was carried out from January to March 2023, using the census method on 4 charter fishing gear units anchored in Kwatisore waters. The results showed that 21 individuals of whale sharks appeared with a total of 225 appearances in January, 245 appearances in February and 248 appearances in March and there was one new individual who migrated into Kwatisore waters with ID number 184. Whale sharks appear mostly in the morning with a percentage of 100% with a total length ranging from 3 to 7.5 m.Keywords: Appearance; New Individuals; Whale Sharks

Abstract

Gill net fishing gear is a passive fishing gear that usually blocks the swimming direction of fish, with the addition of bait as a lure is expected to increase the chances of fish that will be used as a target catch willing to enter the fishing gear. aims to analyze the composition of crab catches on different baits and analyze the size distribution of crabs. The expected benefits of this research are as one of the information materials for efficient crab fishermen about the use of chicken intestine waste bait and fly fish against crab catches with bottom gill net fishing gear related to the availability of fish bait stocks that are uncertain and quite expensive prices. This research was conducted in January - February 2022. From the results of the t-test analysis, the tcount value was obtained at 5.014 while the t-table was obtained at 2.042 with a significance value of 0.000. Because the t-count value is greater than the t-table and the significance value is smaller than the real level of 5% or 0.05, it is concluded that there is a difference in catches between the chicken intestine bait group and fly fish bait with an average catch using chicken intestine bait higher than using fly fish bait

Abstract

Portunus pelagicus is one type of crab that has a very high economic value. The high selling price of crab encourages an increase in fishing effort, where the pressure of increasing fishing effort can cause less catch per effort obtained. To maintain the sustainability of the availability of fisheries resources, improve community welfare, equality of cultivation technology, investment development, increase foreign exchange, and development of cultivation and crab (Portunus spp.), the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020 was issued to re-regulate the provisions for catching and/or releasing crab, therefore this study aims to determine the feasibility of catching crab (Portunus pelagicus) based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020. This study uses a quantitative method by measuring the frequency distribution of carapace width and crab weight which will then determine the frequency of each class by entering the width data of each crab based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020. The results showed that more than 90% of the crab catches followed the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020, namely carapace width size above 10 (ten) cm and weight above 60 (sixty) grams per tail. Although the catch of unfit crabs is less than 10%, it should be released back to nature to support the sustainability of crab.
