Abstract

The halal lifestyle trend is growing, with non-Muslim countries beginning to brand themselves as Muslim-friendly countries, including South Korea. However, there are still not many studies that discuss this issue in depth. Many new studies focus solely on strategies to attract tourists in Muslim-majority countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the collaboration between the government, organizations, and cultural diplomacy as effective strategies for increasing Muslim tourist visits. The research method used is a literature study. The results show that collaboration among the government, the Korea Tour Organization, the Korea Muslim Federation, and cultural diplomacy significantly increases Muslim tourists' interest in visiting. This study also demonstrates that collaboration among various parties is a strategy that significantly influences tourist interest and strengthens the position of halal tourism destinations worldwide.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of work-life balance and organizational culture on employee engagement from an Islamic business perspective at J&T Express Way Kandis. Although employee engagement has been widely researched, most previous studies have focused on the banking, education, and MSME industries, and have not integrated Islamic values in the measurement of organizational variables. This condition indicates a research gap related to the lack of empirical evidence on how Islamic principles influence engagement in the modern logistics industry, especially in expedition companies facing high operational pressure. Starting from this gap, this study offers a novelty through an exploratory quantitative approach that integrates the values of tawazun, akhlakul karimah, and maslahah in the analysis of work-life balance, as well as shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathonah in the study of organizational culture. Data were collected from 75 employees using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that work-life balance (t = 4.736; p < 0.05) and Islamic organizational culture (t = 4.623; p < 0.05) significantly influence employee engagement, with a simultaneous contribution of 61.8% (F = 58.347; p < 0.05). This finding confirms that the application of Islamic values not only serves as a moral guideline but also has a measurable impact on increasing engagement in the logistics sector, which is also a new contribution to strengthening the literature on Islamic value-based HRM in the contemporary industrial environment.

Abstract

Food security in the ASEAN region shows complex dynamics, with varying Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) between countries. Although many countries have shown improvement, some countries such as Indonesia and Myanmar still face challenges related to climate change, production fluctuations, and land and labor constraints. This study aims to analyze the impact of climate, land area, and labor on food security in six ASEAN countries (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Philippines) during the period 2014-2023, with agricultural production as a mediating variable. The method used is quantitative with secondary data from FAOSTAT, the World Bank, and other sources, which are analyzed through a panel data regression model using Chow, Hausman, and LM tests in EViews 13. The Sobel Test is used to test the mediating effect. The results show that land area and labor have a positive and significant effect on PoU (decreasing food security) and agricultural production, while climate has a negative but insignificant effect on PoU (increasing food security) and and a positive but insignificant effect on agricultural production. Agricultural production has a negative and significant effect on PoU (increasing food security) and acts as a mediator for the effects of land area and labor. These findings emphasize the importance of fair and sustainable natural resource management, in accordance with the principles of maqashid syariah.
