Abstract

This community service activity is motivated by the low level of understanding among creative economy actors in developing product branding and utilizing e-commerce as a digital marketing medium, which has resulted in limited business competitiveness amid the development of the digital market. Based on this condition, the program aims to analyze the contribution of branding and e-commerce training in improving the capacity of creative economy actors as well as the effectiveness of digital product promotion. The activity was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation, along with pre- and post-training evaluations to identify changes in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results of the community service involving 42 participants indicated an improvement in participants' ability to build brand identity, enhance product appearance and presentation, and manage marketing through e-commerce platforms in a more structured and effective manner, accompanied by increased confidence in promoting products and expanding market reach. The discussion confirms that the integration of branding and e-commerce training is an effective strategy in strengthening the creative economy as it improves competitiveness, digital readiness, and the sustainability of creative business actors. Therefore, branding- and e-commerce-based training programs need to be developed continuously through collaboration among academics, government, and industry practitioners to support adaptive and sustainable creative economic growth.

Abstract

This study examines how return-to-work practices are implemented for workers with acquired disabilities following work-related accidents in a remote plantation setting in Indonesia. It explores how return-to-work responsibility is enacted at the workplace level and whether existing practices align with the principles of responsible return to work in labor-intensive, geographically isolated settings. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research draws on in-depth interviews with injured workers and organizational actors, supported by workplace observations. Data were analyzed thematically using the responsible return to work framework, which encompasses legal, economic, moral, and discretionary dimensions. The findings show that return-to-work is primarily implemented as employment retention rather than meaningful reintegration. Legal and economic responsibilities emphasize procedural compliance and income continuity, while moral responsibility is framed through organizational care that often takes a paternalistic form. Discretionary responsibility is largely exercised by supervisors, leading to uneven outcomes shaped by managerial judgment and operational constraints. The study positions return-to-work as an organizational and industrial relations process influenced by power dynamics and contextual limitations, demonstrating how fragmented responsibility constrains dignity, participation, and sustainable work trajectories.

Abstract

The use of multi-stakeholder collaboration is the main focus of Asian MSME development, but the current literature has focused primarily on Western forms of governance with scanty knowledge of the cultural aspects and stakeholder power relations influence the collaboration outcomes in Asian settings. This literature review analyzes the patterns of multi-stakeholder collaboration, stakeholder positioning, and systemic challenges of the Asian MSME development programs. The studies included in the analysis were 54 peer-reviewed articles “20152025” located in SCOPUS based on thematic synthesis and three research questions. The patterns of research indicate that there has been a paradigm change towards integrated frameworks informed by four cultural dimensions, including traditional governance philosophy, religious-spiritual integration, technology-based modernization, and environmental-cultural resilience. Eastern Asia is found to be more interested in technology, South east in community involvement and South Asia in policy innovation. The Power-interest approach finds the gaps in the representation where Government is the only Key Player and the Local Communities, Religious Leaders and International NGO are kept aside yet they play a crucial role in the implementation processes. The systemic issues include power imbalances, institutional fragmentation, resource constraint, and tensions between the traditional and modern business. The review goes beyond Stakeholder and Governance Theory by showing that the Asian MSME collaboration is a cyclical process where cultural legitimacy is input and output based on culturally-grounded protocols.

Abstract

This research attempts to investigate the mechanisms linking corporate social responsibility with organizational citizenship behavior among Generation Z employees in Indonesia's banking sector, focusing on the mediating roles of psychological capital, affective commitment, and prosocial motivation. While Generation Z demonstrates high concern for social and environmental issues, paradoxically, they exhibit the lowest levels of organizational citizenship behavior among all generations. Data were collected through an online survey of 230 Generation Z employees in the Indonesian banking sector who had worked for at least 6 months. The study employs Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling for data analysis. The findings reveal that corporate social responsibility positively influence organizational citizenship behavior through the mediation of psychological capital, affective commitment, and prosocial motivation. These findings provide insights for banking institutions in designing effective corporate social responsibility strategies to enhance organizational citizenship behavior among Generation Z employees, while contributing to the literature by explaining the psychological mechanisms linking corporate social responsibility to organizational citizenship behavior. Practical and theoretical implications are discussed, along with suggestions for future research.

Abstract

The phenomenon of quiet quitting has significantly captured global attention across various industries in recent years. Quiet quitting refers to a form of employee disengagement characterized by limiting their efforts to meeting minimal expectations and avoiding additional tasks or responsibilities beyond what is explicitly required. This behavior impacts organizational performance, workplace dynamics, and employee well-being. When employees silently disengage from full involvement in their work, organizations may experience decreased productivity, hindered teamwork dynamics, and challenges in retaining top talent. This research aims to analyze the determinant factors in the quiet quitting intention phenomenon, mediated by work engagement and job satisfaction. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed quantitatively from 405 employees of a banking sector company in Indonesia using purposive sampling and analyzed with Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using Smart PLS. By understanding these signs, organizations can early detect quiet quitting intention behaviors and take appropriate steps to determine the necessary actions to address the underlying issues of quiet quitting behavior.

Abstract

Globalization and technological advancements have transformed recruitment practices, increasing reliance on recruitment agencies. Recruitment consultants face high job demands, including dual roles in business development and recruitment, which often lead to stress and burnout. Despite existing research on internal recruiters and sales professionals, little is known about external recruitment consultants' challenges and coping strategies, particularly in multinational settings. This study aims to (1) analyze the job demands and challenges faced by recruitment consultants at NOVETRA Consulting, (2) explore how these demands contribute to burnout, and (3) identify the strategies consultants use to mitigate these pressures. A qualitative case study approach involved in-depth interviews with 12 recruitment consultants across three job levels at NOVETRA Consulting. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data, grounded in the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model and theories of person-job and person-organization fit. The study reveals that recruitment consultants experience significant stress due to dual roles, high financial targets, and uncontrollable external factors (e.g., client and candidate behaviors). Misalignment between job expectations and realities exacerbates burnout symptoms, including anxiety and demotivation. Consultants cope through personal strategies (e.g., work-life balance) and colleague support, critical buffers against burnout. The findings contribute to the literature by highlighting the unique challenges of external recruitment consultants and the role of social support in mitigating burnout. Practical implications include recommendations for firms to align job expectations, provide mentorship, and foster supportive work environments. Future research could expand to comparative studies across firms or longitudinal analyses of burnout trends.

Abstract

Purpose. This research examines the influence of union instrumentalism and transformational leadership on job performance, mediated by job security and job satisfaction. In promoting the effectiveness of organizational transformation, trade unions and transformational leadership play a crucial role in the sustainable management of human resources. Methods. Quantitative approach with Covariance Based SEM with a total of 370 respondents used for data analysis, using Lisrel. Findings (plan). The research findings reveal that the instrumentalism of labor unions is positively related to job security, job security mediates the relationship between the instrumentalism of labor unions and job performance, the instrumentalism of labor unions positively affects job satisfaction, transformational leadership has a positive relationship with job security, and job satisfaction mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and job performance. Originality/novelty. There are not many studies that integrate trade unions and transformational leadership to evaluate job performance in the context of organizational transformation, particularly in Indonesia. The contribution of this research to the literature is to provide empirical evidence regarding the impact of union instrumentalism and transformational leadership on job performance. Similar studies are still rare in Indonesia, thus enriching the research on the topic..

Abstract

This study discusses the economic growth paradox without security in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, where reported crimes have increased by 37.6 (1,566 to 2,155 cases) over the period between 2021 to 2023, despite the 12.8 growth in MSMEs amid an economic transition not based on tin mining. The study dwells on the police-local government cooperation in the empowerment of MSMEs as a Crime Prevention Through Social Development (CPSD) measure. Using qualitative case study research approach and interviewing the stakeholders of ABCGM (Academy, Business, Community, Government, Military/Police) by using in-depth interviews and focus groups, this study develops the Community-Based Empowerment Model (Model BBM). The results illustrate the multidimensional aspect of MSMEs in security, which constitutes surveillance networks, economic stabilization, social capital formation, and situational crime prevention. The BBM Model works out Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers) as ecosystem orchestrators in five functions: assessment, bridging, capacity-building, governance, and monitoring. The paper is an addition to the theoretical synthesis of procedural justice developed by Tyler, community policing developed by Bayley and economic criminology, as it provides a practical road map of the 17,000 Indonesian island communities shifting to extractive ones.

Abstract

The advent of the Industrial 4.0 economy has intensified the usage of Business Analytics (BA) as a strategic business tool, but the adoption rate is not equally spread across nations. This study investigated the factors influencing the intention to adopt BA in Zimbabwean companies using the technology organization environment (TOE) and the technology acceptance model (TAM). A quantitative approach was used, and data were collected from 157 Zimbabwean companies from various sectors that have adopted or intend to adopt BA. A questionnaire was deployed for data collection, and a convenient sampling method was used. The results revealed that perceived relative advantage, top management support, competitive pressure, and government regulations significantly influence the intention to adopt BA. However, complexity, compatibility, IT infrastructure, and organizational readiness were not supported. The results corroborate and support previous findings. This study adds value to the knowledge of BA adoption from a developing economy perspective. The fusion of TOE and TAM models on Zimbabwean companies' intention to adopt BA was explored for the first time. The flexibility of the TOE model allows the use of IT Infrastructure, which was perceived to have a significant influence in the Zimbabwean context, though it was proved insignificant. Managers in Zimbabwe can benefit from BA adoption for strategic value creation, with policymakers encouraged to promote BA adoption, and scholars will learn about the fused TOE-TAM model.

Abstract

The swift growth of Information Technology (IT) enterprises across Jakarta's region creates a major obstacle: maintaining work-life balance for staff members while facing demanding productivity pressures and unpredictable work schedules, both factors contributing to elevated stress levels. This research sought to examine how work-life balance affects employee performance, with particular focus on investigating the mediating functions of job satisfaction and employee engagement within IT company workforces. Through a quantitative methodology, information was gathered from 195 full-time employees using digital questionnaires and examined with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results demonstrate that proper work-life balance creates positive effects on employee performance, especially when mediated significantly by employee engagement. Conversely, job satisfaction failed to appear as a meaningful mediator within this connection. To summarize, for enhancing employee performance, IT enterprises must emphasize work-life balance strategies that proactively encourage employee engagement. This method has demonstrated superior effectiveness compared to concentrating exclusively on job satisfaction alone.
