Abstract

Indonesia has cultural heritage that needs to be preserved, one of which is batik. This community service activity aims to introduce students participating in the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) Inbond Bach 3 Alma Ata University to the history of Giriloyo batik, the practice of batik, and analyzing the mathematical concepts contained therein. The methods used include planning,implementation and evaluation. The results of this activity show that students are able to know the history of batik, make batik, and analyze the mathematical concepts contained in batik motifs.

Abstract

Pembinaan karakter kepada siswa dapat dilakukan melalui internalisasi budaya dan agama dalam materi pelajaran. Penelitian ini membahas studi budaya Islam Nusantara dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan topik aljabar dan probabilitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode perpustakaan. Data yang diperoleh adalah publikasi artikel penelitian dalam jurnal ilmiah. Artikel yang dianalisis mencakup tiga tahap, yaitu mengatur, mensintesis, dan mengidentifikasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa budaya Islam Nusantara dapat digunakan untuk mengajarkan konsep dalam pembelajaran matematika, dan budaya ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan dalam memperkuat pendidikan karakter. Character building to students can be done through internalization of culture and religion in the subject matter. This study discusses the study of Islam Nusantara culture in mathematics learning with algebra and probability topics. This research uses library method. The data obtained is a publication of research articles in a scientific journal. The article analyzed includes three stages, namely organize, synthesize, and identify. The results of data analysis show that culture of Islam Nusantara can be used to teach a concept in learning mathematics, and this culture can be used as material in strengthening character education.
