Abstract

Collection preservation is a crucial aspect of a library system. A higher education library called the University of Computer Indonesia (Unikom) Library uses preservation to make sure that users can access collections in the future. This study aims to examine the collection preservation activities at the Unikom Library, focusing on the analysis of preventive and curative preservation activities. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The findings show that preventive preservation activities at the Unikom Library include educating users, controlling room temperature and humidity, keeping collections away from direct sunlight, installing naphthalene balls on bookshelves, and setting up CCTV, flap barriers, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and sprinklers. Meanwhile, curative activities include covering library materials, fumigation by third parties, regular cleaning of rooms and collections, binding library materials, replacing damaged covers or pages of books by third parties, and media conversion (digitization) of thesis collections done using a scanner through the scanning process. This study concludes that both preventive and curative preservation activities at the Unikom Library have been carried out effectively.

Abstract

Seren Taun is an important traditional ceremony in Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, rich in cultural values and local wisdom. However, the continuity of this tradition faces challenges in the modern era. This study aims to examine knowledge management in preserving Seren Taun in Cigugur, Kuningan. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observations, interviews with indigenous people, the Seren Taun committee, and community leaders, as well as document studies. The results showed that human aspects (knowledge and expertise of traditional elders, youth involvement), organizational aspects (the role of the Tri Mulya Tri Wikrama Foundation, the formation of committees), and technology (social media, digital platforms) play an important role in managing and passing on knowledge about Seren Taun. However, there are also challenges, such as the lack of systematic documentation and youth participation. This study recommends strategies to improve knowledge management in Seren Taun, such as developing a digital documentation system, cultural education programs for youth, and utilizing information technology for promotion and dissemination

Abstract

Background: Jamasan Pusaka is a traditional Indonesian ritual involving the ceremonial cleansing of sacred heirlooms such as keris, spears, and gamelan to preserve spiritual and historical heritage. In the era of globalization, this practice faces challenges in maintaining its relevance and authenticity, underscoring the importance of systematic documentation and scholarly attention. Purpose: This study aims to comprehensively the intellectual landscape of Jamasan Pusaka studies by identifying key trends, collaboration patterns, and dominant themes, while also examining imbalances in scholarly voices and perspectives within the discourse. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from the Scopus database spanning 2010 to 2025. The analysis examined publication outputs, citation metrics, keyword co-occurrence, and author collaboration networks to visualize the conceptual and social structure of the field. Results: The study identified only 10 relevant documents authored by 40 researchers, indicating that Jamasan Pusaka remains a niche but emerging research area. Common keywords included “historic preservation” and “cultural heritage,” suggesting a strong focus on material conservation and symbolic meaning. The tradition’s future is challenged by declining youth engagement, despite its potential in cultural tourism. Author networks showed some collaboration, but interdisciplinary engagement remains limited. Conclusion: Jamasan Pusaka represents a vital intersection of tangible artifacts and intangible cultural values. Despite the existence of impactful core literature, limited scholarly output highlights the need for broader academic involvement. Future research should prioritize qualitative and community-based studies to explore its socio-cultural dimensions. Interdisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive documentation are key to ensuring the tradition’s continuity for future generations.
