Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Banana and taro are two of the many plants that grow in Tempursari Village. These commodities will have a low selling value if traded directly. As a result, a processed food diversification strategy is required to increase the economic value of these plants, such as processed chips with flavor variants based on the intended target market. The mentoring activity was carried out with the participation of 20 participants, who were representatives from two hamlets. Outreach activities, training, practice, and mentoring are all part of the implementation process. Based on these activities, the outcomes of processed food products, particularly banana chips and taro chips, have the potential to provide an alternative method of increasing the economy by utilizing abundant natural resources.

Abstract

One of the business activities being initiated by the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency is the production of mocaf flour. Mocaf stands for modified cassava flour which is flour made from cassava. This business was initiated, considering that cassava production in Tempursari Village is abundant and only sold fresh at low prices, so that it can increase the selling value. In order to start this business, KWT has been assisted by 2 units of production machines in the form of a pulverizing machine and a flour machine and have also been trained in the process of making mocaf flour. However, this business has not been developed seriously, KWT members are more focused on the various chips business that was initiated previous year. In order to motivate KWT members to immediately develop a mocaf flour business, we employ the mentoring activities as a real action. The result of PPMT activity is the engineering of the grater tool with the addition of a knife, assistancing in making mocaf flour, designing packaging and logos, and helping product promotion through social media.

Abstract

One of the untapped potentials in Tempursari Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency, lies in the sheep farming business. However, this endeavor has yet to reach its optimal potential due to the limited knowledge of breeders regarding sheep farming and marketing. To address this, mentoring activities were initiated for breeders in Tempursari Village, aiming to optimize their businesses through a green economy-based revolving livestock concept. The mentoring process commenced with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) involving four current breeders and two prospective breeders. This session delved into a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced and the aspirations for business development. As a result, a sheep farming group named 'Migunani' was established. The breeders received education on effective sheep farming practices and determining appropriate product sales prices. The mentoring activities concluded with the provision of assistance, which included ten 12-month-old sheep and seeds for fodder plants such as bb biogen, red napier, and pakchong, each comprising 300 stems. Supplying fodder plant seeds aims to enable farmers to cultivate their own feed, eliminating the need to graze elsewhere to meet the dietary requirements of the sheep.

Abstract

Slondok is a popular snack from Magelang, made from cassava and characterized by its crispy, salty, sweet, and spicy flavors. Despite its popularity, there are a limited number of slondok-producing micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Magelang. One such enterprise, Slondok Aredo, located in Tidar Sawe, still operates with traditional methods in its production process, marketing, and business management. This traditional approach has limited the enterprise's ability to achieve optimal business growth and improve the welfare of its owners. To address these challenges, this community empowerment initiative provides assistance to the MSE through an appropriate technology intervention. Through a combination of socialization, training, hands-on practice, and continuous mentoring, the MSE has implemented several changes that have significantly impacted its business development. These improvements include the adoption of an automatic mixer for the marination process, the use of a sealing machine for product packaging, the creation of a more ergonomic frying furnace, the implementation of a bookkeeping application, and the expansion of marketing efforts through social media. Additionally, the payment system was modernized with the introduction of QRIS for consumer transactions.
