Abstract

Enhancing heat transfer efficiency and pressure regulation in copper pipe flow systems is crucial for advancing modern cooling and heating technologies, particularly given the widespread use of copper piping in these applications. This study investigates the thermal and hydraulic performance of ethylene glycol/water (EG/water) and tri ethylene glycol/water (TEG/water) mixtures as working fluids in copper pipe systems. A series of controlled experiments was carried out on a dedicated copper pipe test section to evaluate the effects of varying flow rates on the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop for each fluid mixture. The results indicate that the TEG/water mixture yielded a ~2.0% increase in heat transfer coefficient and a ~1.0% reduction in pressure drop compared to the EG/water mixture, with a corresponding increase in Reynolds number of approximately 37.0%. The reduction in pressure drop is primarily attributed to the lower viscosity of the TEG/water fluid. These findings provide valuable comparative insights into the thermophysical behaviour of both glycol-based mixtures and offer practical guidance for optimizing the selection of thermal fluids in large-scale cooling and heating systems that utilize copper piping.

Abstract

The health manifesto highlighted that studies on innovation flourish when all sides of the knowledge triangle (research, academia, and industry) work in tandem to enhance the quality of care. This opportunity should go much better than implementing theoretical and academic work in universities worldwide. Experts are developing health innovation in higher education to deal with this situation. Therefore, this preface from two experts in the field encourages the importance of publishing studies on innovation in health to reduce health problems and issues in healthcare services in clinical or community practice. Keywords: Innovation; healthcare system; quality of care; clinical practice; community care

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the United Nations in 2015, are a comprehensive global framework that addresses social, economic, and environmental challenges through sustainable development. This study examines the role of universities, specifically focusing on the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMMA), in contributing to the SDGs. The study utilized data from Elsevier’s SciVal to analyze the department’s contribution to the SDGs through scientific publications in the Scopus database. A total of 97 out of 156 articles published by nine researchers from the department were found to contribute to various SDGs, with a significant focus on Goals 7 (affordable and clean energy), 17 (partnerships for the goals), 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and 12 (responsible consumption and production). The study highlights the department’s collaborative efforts and alignment with global sustainability goals. In addition, VOSviewer was used to map the research collaboration network within the department, revealing strong contributions to energy efficiency, sustainable technologies, and climate action. However, the department's research shows limited contribution to social SDGs such as poverty alleviation and gender equality. By mapping the university’s contributions to the SDGs, this study helps faculty members identify opportunities for targeted research collaborations, address gaps in SDG contributions, and enhance partnerships with researchers from other institutions, thus broadening the university’s impact on global sustainable development goals.

Abstract

This systematic review analyzes the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies in sustainable manufacturing and clean energy technology within the automotive industry, focusing on electric vehicle infrastructure development and renewable energy implementation. Through a comprehensive analysis of 25 selected articles from 200 articles (10 sustainability articles, 12 alternative fuels, and 3 electric vehicle charging stations articles) published between 2018 and 2024, this study employs PRISMA methodology combined with bibliometric content and scientometric analysis. The review reveals significant temporal evolution in research focus, progressing from basic energy efficiency studies (2018-2020) to enhanced Industry 4.0 technology integration (2020-2022), culminating in strong convergence between renewable energy implementation, smart infrastructure development, and circular economy principles (2022-2024). Key findings highlight the critical role of AI, IoT, and blockchain in enabling sustainable manufacturing processes and smart grid integration for EV infrastructure. Integrating hybrid energy storage systems with clean energy technologies is crucial for addressing energy transition challenges and reducing fossil-fuel dependence. The study identifies research gaps in comprehensive methodological approaches integrating technical innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and climate action considerations, particularly in developing regions. Future research opportunities include machine learning applications for dynamic energy system optimization and innovative business models supporting sustainable technology implementation across various socio-economic contexts. This review contributes to understanding technology integration patterns in sustainable transportation systems. It provides strategic recommendations for researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers in advancing low-carbon mobility solutions and resilient infrastructure development.
