Abstract

The multidimensional crisis in Indonesia over the past decade requires evidence-based solutions, particularly in the field of humanities, including education and teaching. As the world undergoes rapid and significant changes, education undoubtedly plays a crucial role in every transformation that occurs. Teaching materials are reshaping the role of teachers in the learning process. Teachers are no longer the sole source of knowledge but rather serve as guides. Modern learning activities today focus on student-centered learning, which aims to provide opportunities for students to actively engage in their education. The core issue lies in the implementation of scientific work materials with ethnopedagogical content, which incorporate local wisdom values. However, these efforts have yet to achieve the desired outcomes and continue to face numerous challenges. To address these problems, the author employs a method involving the analysis of teaching materials, the design and development of instructional content, the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, and product evaluation at SMAN 1 Berau. The design model used in this study follows the ADDIE approach, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of the testing indicate that teaching materials developed using ethnopedagogical methods are highly effective and beneficial as supplementary learning resources

Abstract

Increasingly fierce competition causes university managers, both private universities (PTS) and public universities (PTN), to maximize existing resources. Not only on resource management but also must pay attention to the ability of each unit or part of the college that has selling value to the community, has something different from competitors and also pays attention, implements regulations from the government and has differentiation. Innovation gets the attention of maritime universities in Semarang by making continuous improvements. In addition to continuous improvement, they also make overall changes. The competitive advantage of maritime universities in Semarang is able to provide the best quality by getting a quality standard assessment from IMO, ISO, and having an international standard network. Maritime Universities in Semarang are universities that have differences compared to universities in general. It is something different and has a uniqueness, but like other universities, massively also has a strategy to increase competitive advantage, so the hope of maritime college in Semarang is to have many and sustainable students.

Abstract

Media digital sangat berkembang pesat pada saat ini, begitupun untuk lingkungan Pendidikan, oleh sebab itu, sekarang banyak sekali kemudahan dalam mengakses hal hanya dengan menggunakan media, terutama dengan aplikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada, atau tidaknya pengaruh yang dihasilkan dari aplikasi fizzo novel pada pembentukan karakter di mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan sastra Indonesia Universitas Mulawarman. Metode yang digunakan, yaitu metode penelitian kuantitatif, dengan uji parsial (uji T), untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya. Penelitian menggunakan angket sebagai instrument, dengan 25 pernyataan (skala likert) yang disebar pada 191 sampel penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan adanya pengaruh positif, dan signifikan sekitar 87% pada pembentukan karakter oleh penggunaan aplikasi fizzo novel

Abstract

This study discusses the role of altruistic behavior in supporting career guidance programs for former prisoners at the Purwokerto Correctional Center. Former prisoners often face challenges in social reintegration, especially due to societal stigma and limited access to employment. Altruism-based career guidance programs aim to equip them with skills and psychosocial support to increase employment opportunities and economic independence. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis methods. The results show that the role of volunteers and communities with social concerns is very important in reducing barriers to the reintegration of former prisoners. The support provided is not only in the form of job skills training, but also in psychosocial assistance that helps increase their motivation and self-confidence. Although this program has a positive impact, there are still various challenges such as limited funding, lack of community participation, and strong social stigma. Therefore, collaborative efforts are needed between the government, social organizations, and the community to create a more inclusive environment for former prisoners.

Abstract

The short story entitled Ingan by Heri Sucipto is special, namely that it describes the beauty and noble values ​​of the island of Kalimantan, as well as a person's struggle to achieve their dreams. Therefore, this short story needs to be studied, especially the signs that provide meaning in the short story. The aim of this research is to describe the Index, Icons and Symbols in the short story Ingan by Heri Sucipto through semiotic studies. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Based on the research results, there are semiotic elements, namely indices, icons, symbols and indexes. There are five data icons, namely the words wilderness, virgin, slender, berhanyut larung, and inner struggle. The index is 15, namely the words awesome, graduation, leaving, respected, seriously ill, surprised, made me realize, dislike, accept, marriage, emotion, sobbing, limiting, crowding, and crying. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis relevansi dan dinamika penggunaan mantra serta doa laut Suku Bajau di Pulau Maratua di tengah pengaruh modernisasi, islamisasi, dan perkembangan teknologi. Sebagai komunitas maritim, masyarakat Bajau memaknai mantra dan doa laut sebagai media sakral untuk perlindungan, keselamatan, dan hubungan spiritual dengan laut, namun perubahan sosial menyebabkan pergeseran fungsi dan makna tradisi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain etnolinguistik melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi terhadap tetua adat, nelayan, tokoh agama, serta generasi muda. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan triangulasi teknik dan sumber untuk menjaga validitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mantra dan doa mengalami transformasi dari praktik magis menuju praktik religius serta simbol identitas budaya,  penggunaannya kini lebih banyak dijumpai dalam ritual tertentu seperti sedekah laut dan mandi safar dibanding aktivitas melaut sehari-hari. Generasi tua masih memaknai doa sebagai pelindung sakral, sedangkan generasi muda lebih menempatkannya sebagai bagian dari tradisi dan etika bermaritim. Faktor pelestarian meliputi identitas etnis, ritual kolektif, dan dokumentasi akademik, sementara faktor pergeseran mencakup islamisasi, teknologi navigasi modern, dan globalisasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa tradisi mantra dan doa laut tidak hilang, melainkan bertransformasi menjadi praktik religius-sosial yang meneguhkan identitas Bajau. Pelestarian tradisi memerlukan dokumentasi berkelanjutan, pewarisan antargenerasi, serta integrasi pengetahuan budaya ke dalam pendidikan dan media digital.

Abstract

This study examines Tingkilan music as a cultural medium that bridges Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s educational philosophy with the principles of Islamic law in shaping the moral and cultural character of urban Muslim communities. Originating from the Kutai people of East Kalimantan, Tingkilan music has long functioned not merely as artistic expression but also as a vehicle for transmitting ethical, social, and spiritual values rooted in Islamic teachings and local wisdom. In contemporary urban contexts—where Muslims increasingly seek to balance religious commitment with cultural identity—Tingkilan offers a meaningful and culturally grounded alternative. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research draws upon literature analysis and in-depth interviews with local artists and cultural figures engaged in the preservation and performance of Tingkilan. The data were analyzed by correlating the aesthetic and moral dimensions of Tingkilan music with the frameworks of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and fiqh al-ḥaḍārah, both of which emphasize the adaptability of Islamic law within dynamic cultural and social contexts. The findings demonstrate a strong convergence between the values of creativity (cipta), sensibility (rasa), and intentionality (karsa) articulated by Ki Hadjar Dewantara and the objectives of Islamic law, particularly in promoting public welfare (al-maṣlaḥah), preserving human dignity (ḥifẓ al-‘irḍ), and fostering social harmony. Through its poetic lyrics and musical form, Tingkilan functions as a form of cultural da‘wah, conveying Islamic moral messages in a subtle yet aesthetic manner that enhances their accessibility among urban Muslim audiences. This study suggests that traditional Islamic arts such as Tingkilan can play a strategic role in character education, cultural preservation, and the promotion of moderate religious engagement. Accordingly, Tingkilan music represents a practical model for harmonizing education, sharia, and local culture within contemporary Indonesian Muslim society.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasikan dan merepresntasikan kolonialisme yang termuat dalam komik “One Piece” karya Eiichiro Oda, bagian yang penulis bahas dalam komik One Piece adalah arc Arabasta yang termuat dalam volume 18 sampai volume 23 dengan pendekatan analisis postkolonial Frantz Fanon. Komik ini mengisahkan tentang seorang anak muda bernama Monkey D. Luffy yang menjadi bajak laut, tujuan utamanya adalah berlayar ke laut mencari harta terpendam peninggalan raja bajak laut, walaupun begitu penulis komik ini tidak menggambarkan tokoh utama sebagai bajak laut pada umumnya, justru seperti pahlawan yang membantu menyelesaikan masalah setiap kali dia datang ke suatu pulau, khusus arc Arabasta, tokoh utama membantu kerajaan Arabasta terbebas dari belenggu kolonialisme. Melalui analisis kualitatif, penelitian ini mengidentifikasikan empat representasi kolonialisme yang diklasifikasikan dalam beberapa data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa komik ini sangat menggambarkan kolonialisme, terutama arc Arabasta dengan panel gambar dan balon bicara yang termuat dalam komik ini, sangat tercermin gambaran kesengsaraan rakyat arabasata secara fisik maupun batin. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberi sumbangsih terhadap kajian karya sastra, khususnya kajian komik dan kajian kolonialisme, serta memperluas pengetahuan tentang peran komik dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. KATA KUNCI: Komik; One Piece; Arabasta; Representasi kolonialisme; Postkolonial   COLONIALISM REPRESENTATION IN THE ONE PIECE ARABASTA COMIC: FRANTZ FANON’S POSTCOLONIAL THEORY     ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to identify and represent colonialism contained in Eiichiro Oda’s “One Piece” comic. The author discusses the Arabasta arc in One Piece, which is contained in volumes 18 to 23, using Frantz Fanon’s postcolonial analysis approach. This comic tells the story of a young man named Monkey D. Luffy who becomes a pirate. Whose main goal is to sail the seas in search of the buried treasure of the pirate king. However, the author of this comic does not portray the main character as a typical pirate, but rather as a hero who helps solve problems whenever he comes to an island. Specifically in the Arabasta arc, the main character helps Arabasta kingdom free itself from the shackles of colonialism classifield in several data. The results of this study show that this comic strongly depicts colonialism, especially in the Arabasta arc, with the panels and speech bubbles contained in this comic clearly reflecting the physical and mental suffering of the Arabasta people. This research is expected to contribute to literary studies, particularly comic studies and colonialism studies, as well as expand knowledge about the role of comic in society. Abstract

Sejak masuk perkuliahan, mahasiswa seharusnya diberi pembekalan mengenai cara menghindari plagiat dalam karya tulis ilmiah. Parafrasa menjadi salah satu alternatif pencegahan plagiat sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam bidang tulis menulis. Oleh karena itu, Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberi pelatihan kepada mahasiswa, mengenai parafrasa dan aplikasi parafrasa. Parafrasa dapat dimanfaatkan dalam perkuliahan, khususnya dalam pembuatan karya tulis ilmiah. Aplikasi parafrasa mudah digunakan dan dapat diakses secara daring. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara luring di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Mulawarman, tanggal 31 Mei 2023. Ada 45 peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan ini. Tahapan kegiatan pelatihan ini yaitu, peserta diberi materi terkait parafrasa, jenis-jenis dan aplikas yang dapat digunakan. Aplikasi yang digunakan yaitu Smodin, Spinner.id dan Paraphrasing Tool dari Quillbot. Setelah itu, peserta diminta mempraktikan cara parafrasa menggunakan aplikasi. Dalam pelaksanaannya peserta diberi Pretest dan Postest. Hasilnya terlihat peningkatan dalam pemahaman mengenai parafrasa. Secara keseluruhan peserta dapat menggunakan aplikasi tersebut.

Abstract

Each region has cultural heritage that serves as a distinctive characteristic and identity of its community. However, the values contained in folktales, particularly legends, have begun to shift along with the development of the times. This study aims to describe the moral values and cultural values contained in the folktale The Origin of Lake Lipan. This study used a qualitative approach, with library research and note-taking techniques as data collection methods. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the moral values in the folktale The Origin of Lake Lipan included the relationship between humans and God, namely praying; the relationship between humans and themselves, namely perseverance, courage, and maintaining self-respect; and the relationship between humans and others, namely maintaining etiquette and entertaining guests. In addition, the cultural values found included religious systems, social systems, language, arts, livelihoods, and systems of living equipment. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the folktale The Origin of Lake Lipan contains important moral and cultural values as a means of transmitting character, cultural identity, and local wisdom. The implications of this study indicate the need to preserve folktales as a source of value learning and regional cultural strengthening amid social change.
