Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in Indonesia’s economy as both employment providers and drivers of community welfare. However, limited entrepreneurial skills and slow technology adoption remain major challenges, including in Bluru Kidul Village, Sidoarjo Regency. This study aims to examine the effect of entrepreneurship training and technological innovation adaptation on the welfare of MSME actors. A quantitative method was employed using multiple linear regression analysis based on survey data from 83 respondents. The findings indicate that entrepreneurship training and innovation adaptation have a positive and significant effect on MSME welfare, measured through business income, sales volume, operational cost efficiency, and household consumption. These results reinforce Amartya Sen’s Capability Approach, which emphasizes expanding individual capabilities through training and technology. Practically, the study provides insights for local governments and support institutions to design MSME empowerment programs that are more adaptive, sustainable, and tailored to the specific needs of local entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Education is a crucial factor in improving the quality of human resources and alleviating poverty. In Pacitan Regency, the hilly geography and limited accessibility affect the distribution of schools and the community's ability to continue their education. This is reflected in the fluctuation of the School Participation Rate (APS) at each level of education, where the APS of elementary school students is relatively stable, while the APS of junior high and senior high schools shows a significant decline, especially among poor families. This study aims to analyze the influence of poverty levels and the number of schools on the APS in Pacitan Regency. The research method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression using secondary time series data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results show that at the elementary school level, poverty has a positive but insignificant effect, while the number of schools has a negative effect on the APS due to the regrouping policy. At the junior high school level, poverty has a negative effect and the number of schools has a positive effect on the APS. Meanwhile, at the senior high school level, poverty has a significant negative effect, while the number of schools has no significant effect. Overall, economic factors are proven to be more dominant than the availability of schools, especially at the secondary education level.

Abstract

The Greater Malang Region, which consists of Malang Regency, Malang City, and Batu City, has great natural resource potential, but still faces challenges in achieving economic consistency. Economic inequality in this region is a concern, especially in the context of the role of basic economic sectors. This study aims to identify the basic economic sectors that play a role in reducing economic inequality in the Greater Malang region and analyze their contribution to the regional economic structure. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with Time Series analysis of GRDP in Greater Malang. The analytical tools used include Location Quotient (LQ) Analysis to identify basic and non-basic sectors, and Williamson Index (IW) Analysis to measure the level of economic inequality. The analysis shows that: 1) Malang Regency has basic sectors such as agriculture, industry, and trade; 2) Malang City is dominated by services and education sectors; 3) Batu City has strong agriculture and tourism sectors. Economic inequality in Greater Malang shows a fluctuating trend with an increasing IW value, indicating non-optimization in the development of potential economic sectors. These findings indicate the need to strengthen basic sectors to support more equitable economic growth. While potential exists, more targeted development is needed to reduce inequality and improve community welfare. This study concludes that the basic economic sectors play a key role in reducing economic inequality in Malang Raya. However, the development of these sectors still needs to be optimized to achieve better results in people's economic welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the boycott of Israel on the fundamental factors and economic growth of food and beverage (F&B) companies from the United States, with changes in profits as an intervening variable. The independent variables analyzed include Net Profit Margin (NPM), Current Ratio (CR), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO), while the dependent variable is the company's economic growth. The method used is a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression and path analysis to test for direct and indirect influences. Data was obtained from the financial statements of multinational companies such as McDonald's, Starbucks, and Domino's Pizza that were affected by the boycott. The results showed that TATO had a negative and significant effect on changes in profit and economic growth directly, as well as an indirect effect on economic growth through changes in profit, which was proven to be significant through the Sobel test (Z = 2.55; p < 0.05). In contrast, NPM and CR did not show a significant influence either directly or indirectly. Thus, the efficiency of asset utilization (TATO) is the most dominant factor in influencing the company's economic growth in situations of socio-political pressure such as boycotts.
