Abstract

Abstract

Advertising tax is a crucial component in increasing Regional Original Revenue (PAD), especially in large cities like Surabaya. However, its implementation at the Surabaya City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) still faces various obstacles that impact low tax revenue realization. These problems include a lack of oversight of illegal advertising, weak collection follow-up, and low taxpayer awareness and compliance. This study aims to identify key issues in the advertising tax collection process and formulate relevant and applicable solutions. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including field observations, semi-structured interviews with tax officials and taxpayers, and supporting documentation. The results identified six main factors hindering collection: (1) minimal outreach, (2) a suboptimal administrative system, (3) weak law enforcement, (4) limited human resources, (5) negative public perception, and (6) data disintegration. The implications of this research are the importance of tax system reform, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and increasing institutional capacity through training and more effective and sustainable public information communication strategies.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has quite high income disparities between regions. The occurrence of differences in income disparity conditions in several provinces in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province, West Kalimantan Province and South Sumatra Province, cannot be separated from many factors, one of which is the role of ICT. ICT plays an important role in supporting economic growth and overcoming income disparities, so this research aims to determine the structure of the economy, determine the condition of income disparities, and determine the contribution of ICT to income disparities in Riau Province, West Kalimantan Province, and South Sumatra Province in 2010-2022. This research uses a quantitative approach with regional Klassen typology analysis methods, Wiliamson index analysis, and binary logistic regression analysis. The research results show that Riau Province is included in the category of developed but depressed regions, while West Kalimantan Province and South Sumatra Province are included in the category of rapidly developing regions. The average income disparity during the 2010-2022 period, Riau Province reached 0.51%, West Kalimantan Province was 0.25%, and South Sumatra Province was 0.58%. ICT contributes to income disparities by 26.1%, with an analysis of the influence of ICT indicators, namely households that own/control a cell phone have a significant positive effect on income disparities, households that own/master a computer have a negative and insignificant effect, and the percentage of households that accessing the internet in the last 3 months had a negative and significant effect

Abstract

East Java Province is a province that is one of the largest agricultural commodity producing areas in Indonesia. The agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors are sectors that drive economic growth in East Java because they have contributed greatly and provided supporting capacity for other sectors. The number of agricultural sector workers in East Java Province is the highest in Indonesia, however, with this high workforce, the GDP of the agricultural sector in East Java experiences a slow increase every year. The decline in the area of rice fields and the rise and fall of domestic investment (PMDN) in the agricultural sector can also affect the value of GRDP growth in the agricultural sector in East Java. This research aims to determine the influence of agricultural sector labor, rice field area, domestic investment (PMDN) in the agricultural sector on GRDP in the agricultural sector in East Java Province. This research uses a quantitative method using secondary data from 2002 to 2022. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS 23 application. The results of this research show that agricultural sector labor has a significant negative influence on the agricultural sector's GRDP while the area paddy fields and domestic investment have no influence on the GDP of the agricultural sector. However, simultaneously the workforce in the agricultural sector, the area of rice fields, domestic investment influence the GRDP in the agricultural sector of East Java Province.

Abstract

To serve the housing needs of low-income people, the government provides a Subsidized Mortgage Loans program. Demand for subsidized mortgage loans in East Java is relatively low, while the population is growing every year. This is inseparable from the influence of several external factors. The purpose of the study is to analyze how the influence of Non Performing Loan (NPL), Inflation and Per Capita Income on Demand for subsidized mortgage in East Java. This research uses a quantitative approach in the form of time series from 2010-2023. In this study, multiple linear regression was used to test the effect of independent variables (NPL, Inflation and Per Capita Income) on the dependent variable (demand for subsidized mortgage loans in East Java). So the research results obtained that simultaneously the independent variables (NPL, Inflation and Per Capita Income) affect the dependent variable (demand for subsidized mortgage loans in East Java). Partially, only the NPL and per capita income variables have a positive and significant effect on the demand for subsidized mortgage loans in East Java, while the inflation variable has no significant effect on the demand for subsidized mortgage loans in East Java.

Abstract

The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) policy in the United States presents both opportunities and challenges for Indonesia’s Crude Palm Oil (CPO) exports. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the value of Indonesia’s CPO exports to the United States during the period 2005–2023, focusing on Malaysia’s export volume, Indonesia’s CPO production, and international CPO prices. A quantitative method with time series data was employed and analyzed through multiple linear regression using EViews 13. The results show that Malaysia’s CPO export volume has a negative and significant effect on Indonesia’s export value, indicating direct market competition. In contrast, Indonesia’s CPO production has a positive and significant effect, underscoring the importance of domestic capacity in supporting export performance. International CPO prices also have a positive and significant effect, meaning that rising global prices can increase export value. Overall, the findings confirm that beyond demand and supply dynamics, competition with Malaysia and compliance with the RFS standard are crucial determinants of export performance. This study recommends strengthening sustainability certification (ISPO), enhancing trade diplomacy, and stabilizing production to improve competitiveness in the U.S. market.
