Abstract

Macroeconomic factors can be said to have a relationship with the financial performance of banks, both conventional banks and Islamic banks. The condition of the banking sector in East Java is very vulnerable to economic shocks that occur. So it requires a very independent and good liquidity management. The existing banking sector is still very dependent on the policies made by the central bank and the government. Then if there is a financial difficulty caused by unfavorable macroeconomic conditions, then the bank's financial performance may also be disrupted. Based on the analysis of data that has been explained that macroeconomic factors such as GRDP, inflation rate, unemployment rate, BI Rate and exchange rate, which have a very large relationship to the performance of conventional banks and Islamic banks in East Java is the BI rate. This shows that the banking sector in East Java must pay special attention to the dynamics of macroeconomic factors that occur. Whereas the financial performance between Islamic banks and conventional banks shows a difference. This is because the management of bank financial performance between Islamic banks and conventional banks has a different policy.

Abstract

Unemployment has significant economic and social impacts, especially educated unemployment. The increase in the number of educated unemployed is a major problem. As of February 2022, BPS RI data indicates 8.4 million people or 5.83% of the workforce are unemployed. Educated unemployment, such as High School, Diploma, and Bachelor graduates, has the potential to support economic growth which is unfortunate if it is not handled properly. As of February 2022, according to data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, the total number of educated unemployed in Indonesia has reached 62.4% of the total number of unemployed in Indonesia. The projection of the demographic bonus in Indonesia, Cipta Kerja Law which has the aim of overcoming employment problems by supporting foreign investment and creating jobs through ease of licensing and the fluaction of employment rates which are influenced by economic growth is the background of this research. This study analyzes the effect of foreign investment (FDI), employment rates, and total population on educated unemployment in Indonesia. The method used is the quantitative method and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 25. The results show that the employment rates and population have significant effect on educated unemployment while foreign investment (FDI) does not have significant effect in this study. Encouraging the quality of foreign investment remains an important role. The government should prioritize policies that support investment in potential sectors to create jobs for educated graduates. Managing population growth is also important in order to prevent increases in educated unemployment.

Abstract

The central issue faced by Indonesia is how to optimize its abundant yet undertrained human resources to support development. The goal is for the majority of the population not to be a burden on development but rather to be an asset in advancing the country. In the context of economic development in developing countries, such efforts aim to increase economic growth, provide more job opportunities, absorb abundant labor, equalize income distribution, reduce regional disparities, and achieve a balanced economic structure. This research will discuss several ideas regarding the role of Provincial Minimum Wage, the number of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and the value of MSME investments in the aspect of labor absorption in East Java Province. This research activity is conducted to understand whether the Provincial Minimum Wage, the number of MSMEs, and the value of MSME investments contribute to labor absorption and to compare the analysis results of these sectors regarding labor absorption. This research is important because Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are not only economic drivers but also major determinants of employment. In-depth understanding of this sector's role in the economic growth of East Java Province will provide a solid foundation for development planning in terms of sustainable labor absorption. This research applies a quantitative approach and uses secondary data from the years 2013-2022. The method used is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS application.

Abstract

Economic growth is important for every country. A sign that things are improving in a region is good and increasing economic growth. An important part of any country's economy is the tourism industry. One of the main drivers of economic growth in Indonesia is the tourism industry. The tourism sector itself is the strongest and largest sector in Indonesia's economic development efforts compared to other sectors. This is because the tourism industry provides various types of services that can be offered such as the provision of hotels, restaurants, transportation, money changers, tour guides and others. The impact of tourism activities has a great influence on the community around the tourist destination area. The more tourism activities that occur in the area, the more regional income will come in. In addition, the more attractions that an area presents, the more tourists will visit the place. This study uses a quantitative method of multiple linear analysis with variables of the number of tourists, number of hotels, and number of tourist attractions in the provinces of Bali and West Nusa Tenggara in 2011-2021.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the direct influence of tourism income on the well-being of the population and the indirect impact of tourism income on public welfare through economic growth. The research utilizes secondary data sourced from the Central Statistical Authority of Surabaya and the Regional Revenue Authority of Surabaya, Indonesia, covering the years 2013 to 2022. The methodological approach adopted for this study is linear regression, incorporating intervening variables to assess these relationships. The analysis reveals that tourism income has a significant positive impact on the well-being of the population when considered directly. This direct influence is substantial, indicating that higher tourism revenue correlates strongly with improved living standards for the people of Surabaya. Additionally, when examining the indirect effects, the study finds that tourism income also positively impacts public welfare through the channel of economic growth. However, this indirect impact, while significant, is of lower magnitude compared to the direct influence. Overall, the findings suggest that promoting tourism can be a robust strategy for enhancing the well-being of the population in Surabaya. The dual pathways—directly through income and indirectly via economic growth—highlight the multifaceted benefits of a thriving tourism sector for public welfare.
