Abstract

Paciran Port serves three routes, one of which is from Paciran to Bawean Island with one KMP Gili Iyang. Shipping safety is the reason in this study because several cases of trucks overturning in the vehicle loading space. This study aims to determine the procedures for transporting vehicles on KMP. Gili Iyang. This study uses a qualitative research method with a data collection method using the observation method and then comparing the conditions in the field with existing regulations such as the distance between vehicles, weighbridges, vehicle positions, sterilization of the transportation space, and vehicle tying. This problem uses the legal basis of the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 115 of 2016 concerning Procedures for Transporting Vehicles on Ships. The results of this study are: Paciran Port already has a weighbridge, The ticket after weighing the vehicle only contains the weight of the load, The vehicle loading space is not yet sterile from passengers, The vehicle loading space is sterile from oil spills, The distance between vehicles is still too close and not appropriate, The placement of the vehicle position is still transverse and not appropriate, The mandatory lashing section has not been fully tied. The conclusion of this study is that the procedures for transporting vehicles and placing vehicles on the KMP. Gili Iyang are still not in accordance with the rules stated in the Minister of Transportation No. 115 of 2016. The recommendations given include: the crew of the KMP. Gili Iyang must carry out vehicle transport procedures in accordance with the Minister of Transportation No. 115 of 2016. The need for stricter supervision from the transportation organizer.

Abstract

Salah satu bahaya serius yang dapat mengancam nyawa dan kerugian harta benda adalah kebakaran. Dalam konteks pelabuhan nelayan kesiapan dalam menghadapi kebakaran di kapal sangatlah krusial. Peralatan pemadam kebakaran di pelabuhan perikanan sangat penting untuk memastikan keselamatan personel, perlindungan properti, dan pengendalian kebakaran yang efektif. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabidan pada Masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dasar peningkatan motivasi, wawasan dan kompetensi nelayan Pantai Popoh dalam menangani kebakaran. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan melalui penyampaian materi berupa pelatihan keselamatan terkait pemadaman api dengan menggunakan Pompa Portable. Dimana yang menjadi sasaran kegiatan adalah nelayan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Popoh. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan lancar sesuai dengan yang diagendakan. Hal ini karena antusiasme yang tinggi dari peserta dan dukungan penuh dari Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Popoh Tulungagung.

Abstract

Weather changes are the effects of climate change that occur due to environmental changes. IMO (International Maritime Organization) has tried hard to minimize accidents by holding conventions. Because ship accidents can occur due to unpredictable weather and lack of expertise of the watch officer or helmsman in controlling the ship's maneuver. This study is a qualitative study that aims to understand the phenomenon in depth through exploration of the meaning, experience, and views of the research subjects in a certain context. The results of this study are: 1) Factors that influence the maneuver of the MV. Palung Mas include ship design, type and placement of engines, steering system, cargo conditions, water and weather conditions, crew expertise and experience, depth and navigation space; 2) Performance of maneuvering on the MV. Palung Mas includes response to the steering system, efficiency of the propulsion system, maneuvering in full load and ballast conditions, the influence of external factors, the ability to stop the ship, crew expertise and technological support; and 3) Ship maneuvering strategy during bad weather on the MV. Palung Mas includes adjusting the ship's speed, choosing the right course, optimizing the propulsion and steering systems, regulating the distribution of cargo and ballast, utilizing weather and navigation information, increasing crew alertness, maintaining communication with external parties, avoiding dangerous areas, being alert in emergencies, using the ship's automation system.

Abstract

The loading and unloading process involves moving goods from one place to another, often requiring specialized equipment such as a wire crane. In maritime operations, unexpected incidents like wire crane breakage can occur. Wire crane breakage refers to damage in the sling wire of a ship's crane, reducing its lifting capacity and causing the wire fibres to unravel. During sea-based fieldwork on the MV. Pacific Bulk, researchers observed a wire crane failure during loading and unloading operations, which caused delays and financial losses. This study aims to identify the causes of wire crane breakage on the MV. Pacific Bulk and examine its technical and operational impacts. Using a qualitative descriptive method and fishbone analysis for data interpretation, the study found several contributing factors: wire corrosion, crane age, lack of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for crane maintenance, insufficient crew, inadequate maintenance, lack of routine inspections, and challenging environmental conditions. The research also highlights the technical and operational consequences of such failures, including delays and economic loss. To address the issue, the study suggests implementing scheduled periodic inspections following SOPs, applying regular lubrication, and maintaining data records of the wire crane’s lifespan. These preventative measures aim to improve operational efficiency and avoid future wire crane failures.

Abstract

Shipping safety is everything that can be developed related to accident prevention measures when carrying out work in the shipping sector. Shipping safety and security is a state of fulfillment of transportation safety and security requirements in waters, ports and maritime environments. Fire extinguishing equipment is vital in ensuring operational safety on board and meeting the requirements set by SOLAS. Regular and regular maintenance is required to ensure that fire extinguishing equipment is always in a ready-to-use condition in the event of an emergency. Conducting periodic drills aims to find out the extent of the readiness of fire extinguishing equipment to be used and its completeness. This study has the purpose of finding out: 1) Factors causing fire extinguishing equipment in KM. Lambelu is less than optimal 2) The impact that will occur if routine maintenance is not carried out on the fire extinguisher. The method used by the researcher this time is a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study are as follows, The main causes of damage to light fire extinguishers in KM. Lambelu is the lack of inspection and supervision that is carried out periodically on the equipment, while other supporting factors are the lack of understanding and skills of the crew in operating light fire extinguishers, the use of light fire extinguishers that are not in accordance with the SOPs, and exposure to the marine environment that causes light fire extinguishers to corrode or rust. The impact of not carrying out routine maintenance is a decrease in preparedness in times of emergency, in addition to that it will cause financial losses, operational disruptions, and reduce public trust in the company.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of container lashing techniques in reducing the risk of cargo damage on MV. Tanto Bersinar. Lashing is a method of securing containers using equipment such as twist locks, lashing bars, and turnbuckle s to ensure cargo stability and safety during sea transport. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach through direct observation, interviews with crew members, and documentation. The findings indicate that the lashing technique on board has not been fully effective due to several factors, including insufficient quantity and poor condition of lashing equipment, limited crew understanding of proper procedures, and lack of regular training and supervision. The ineffectiveness of the lashing process leads to safety risks, operational delays, financial losses, and reputational damage to the company. This study recommends providing adequate and well-maintained lashing equipment, conducting routine crew training, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, and improving oversight to meet maritime safety standards. Proper implementation of lashing techniques is essential to minimize cargo damage and enhance the overall safety of maritime operations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas implementasi Dynamic Positioning (DP) pada kapal AHTS. Logindo Energy, yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan stabilitas posisi kapal tanpa manuver manual dan mengetahui dampak keselamatan kerja dalam penggunaan dynamic positioning system . Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Dari hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti selama 12 bulan yang dimulai pada 5 September 2023 hingga 7 Oktober 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi sistem dynamic positioning pada AHTS. Logindo Energy meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar, dan meningkatkan keselamatan kerja awak kapal. Namun, sistem ini menghadapi kendala seperti biaya operasional yang tinggi, kebutuhan pelatihan operator yang bersertifikat, serta pemeliharaan sistem yang kompleks. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi optimalisasi penggunaan dynamic positioning melalui pemeliharaan berkala, peningkatan pelatihan awak kapal, serta pembaruan teknologi kontrol sistem dynamic positioning.

Abstract

Penerapan perawatan alat bongkar kapal tersebut di bilang belum optimal di sebabkan karena kerusakan peralatan bongkar muat seperti rampdoor, wire rampdoor, winch rampdoor, dan cardeck. Penulis merumuskan persoalan dengan mencari faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya kerusakan peralatan bongkar muat untuk meminimalisir terhambatnya kegiatan bongkar muat. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode penelitian menggunakan metode fishbone dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk mencari penyebab terjadinya kerusakan peralatan bongkar muat kapal dan juga upaya terhambatnya kegiatan bongkar muat kapal. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan peralatan bongkar muat adalah kurangnya pemahaman kru tantang pentingnya perawatan peralatan bongkar muat kapal, kurangnya perawatan peralatan bongkar muat kapal, perusahaan kurang memperhatikan persedian suku cadang peralatan bongkar muat kapal. Untuk upaya pencegahan meminimalisir terhambatnya kegiatan bongkar muat yaitu dengan melakukan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya perawatan peralatan bongkar muat kapal, melakukan pemeriksaan atau pengawasan berkala, dan perawatan berkala, melakukan komunikasi dan koordinasi yang efektif antara chief Officer dan perusahaan

Abstract

BOSIET merupakan pelatihan tentang keselamatan yang dikhususkan bagi pekerja lepas pantai/offshore. Penerapan BOSIET tersebut belum optimal di sebabkan karena kurangnya komunikasi terhadap crew kapal dengan crew diving/pekerja lepas pantai pada kapal X yang hampir terjadi kecelakaan yang berakibat fatal. Penulis merumuskan persoalan dengan mencari faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada crew diving dan upaya pencegahan untuk meminimalisir kecelakaan kerja pada crew diving atau pekerja lepas pantai. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk mencari penyebab terjadinya kecelakaan kerja crew diving dan juga upaya untuk meminimalisir kecelakaan kerja lepas pantai. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada crew diving dikapal X adalah kurangnya komunikasi antara crew diving dan crew kapal, kurangnya perawatan peralatan diving dan mesin diving, cuaca yang buruk. Untuk upaya pencegahan meminimalisir kecelakaan kerja crew diving yaitu dengan melakukan pelatihan BOSIET, melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan sebelum melakukan penyelaman, melakukan pemeriksaan dan perawatan terhadap peralatan penyelaman serta mesin diving secara berkala, melakukan komunikasi dan koordinasi yang efektif antara crew diving dan crew kapal

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Pelabuhan Teluk Palu ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan keselamatan kerja tenaga kerja bongkar muat melalui program penyuluhan dan uji kompetensi. Sebanyak 40 peserta yang terdiri dari tenaga kerja bongkar muat mengikuti kegiatan ini, yang berlangsung selama tiga hari. Kegiatan diawali dengan sesi penyuluhan yang mencakup materi mengenai prosedur keselamatan kerja, teknik bongkar muat yang efisien, dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD). Dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan praktis yang melibatkan simulasi bongkar muat dan penanganan keadaan darurat. Pada hari terakhir, dilakukan uji kompetensi yang terdiri dari tes tertulis dan ujian praktik untuk menilai pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta. Hasil uji kompetensi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta dinyatakan kompeten, dengan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman keselamatan kerja dan teknik bongkar muat. Para peserta yang lulus uji kompetensi diberikan sertifikat sebagai bukti keterampilan mereka. Rekomendasi diberikan kepada pengelola pelabuhan dan koperasi tenaga kerja bongkar muat untuk menyelenggarakan pelatihan berkala, meningkatkan fasilitas dan infrastruktur, serta mengembangkan sistem manajemen keselamatan yang lebih baik. Capaian kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan keselamatan operasional di Pelabuhan Teluk Palu, serta memberikan kontribusi positif bagi perekonomian daerah
