Abstract

Batik merupakan warisan budaya khas Indonesia yang memiliki daya tarik tinggi di kawasan lokal maupun internasional. Batik jumputan adalah salah satu jenis batik yang mudah dibuat, memiliki banyak variasi teknik pembuatan, dan daya jualnya tinggi. Malang sebagai salah satu daerah tujuan wisata di Indonesia memiliki kesempatan besar untuk memanfaatkan batik jumputan menjadi komoditas di pusat oleh-oleh. Pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pembuatan batik jumputan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat Malang, khusunya di daerah Lowokwaru. Upaya pelestarian melalui pelatihan perlu dilakukan untuk memberikan keterampilan membuat batik jumputan. Penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan survei. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu PKK di Lowokwaru, Malang. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan data hasil observasi dan kajian literatur ke dalam domain-domain hingga diperoleh suatu kesimpulan. Setelah melalui pelatihan, ibu PKK di Lowokwaru memiliki keterampilan untuk membuat batik jumputan dengan teknik ikat dan jahit untuk meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat. Sehingga diharapkan dengan demikian batik jumputan dapat terus dilestarikan.

Abstract

Objective: To asses visceral fat profile protein between normal and obesity model rat. Material and Methods: Normal and obesity rat model have been treated with polyphenol from rambutan peel extract for 12 weeks. Rat were divided into 2 major group  based on their weight which normal rat and obesity model rat respectively have average weight 180-200 gram and 360-380 gram. This treatment were divided into minor group which are placebo (without treatment),  treatment with ellagic acid and treatment with polyphenol (dosage 15 mg/kg body weight; 30 mg/kg body weight and 60 mg/kg body weight. Rat were sacrificed after 12 weeks treatment to asses visceral fat profile protein and continue with running SDS PAGE12,5 %. Protein molecular weight sample were calculated with regression analysis between marker protein mobility and logarithm from marker. Band protein analysis were analyze qualitative with SDS PAGE meanwhile quantitative analysis with Gel Doc (Bio Rad). Density band protein were analyze were using Quantity One software and confirmed with Western Blotting.Result: Protein profile characteristic normal rat and obesity-model rat were in range between117-20 k Da. The amount of band protein were found in normal rat were less than the amount of protein at obesity-model rat. Conclusion: There were difference molecular weight at protein density 57 k Da for obesity model rat which has been treated with rambutan peel extract.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the community’ skills of making batik jumputan through training of 21 PKK mothers at Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Participants involved in this study were selected randomly (random sampling technique). Data collection techniques in the form of skills test making batik jumputan (paper based-test) conducted before and after training. Data analysis was performed using the calculation and categorization of N-Gain. The results showed that the training in making batik jumputan could improve the skills of PKK mothers at Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency in the moderate (62%) and high (38%) categories.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to examine the effect of Sechium edule ethanolic extract to repair beta pancreas cells damage and tomeasure nitrogen oxide (NO) concentration in streptozotocin-induced rats. Type I diabetic rats were obtained by intraperioneally injected therats with multiple low dose streptozotocin (MLD-STZ) for 5 days. In this research, rats were assigned into 5 treatment groups: untreated rats ingroup 1 were considered as negative control, while MLD-STZ induced type 1 diabetic rats in group 2 were considered as positive control. Inanother 3 groups, type 1 diabetic rats were orally treated with three doses of Sechium edule ethanolic extract (14, 28, 42 mg/kg bw) respectivelyfor 7 consecutive days. Repairing of beta pancreas cells were analyzed descriptively whereas concentration of NO were analyzed using one wayANOVA and continued with LSD test (α= 0.01). The result showed that the administration of Sechium edule ethanolic extract significantlydecreased NO concentration (P0.01) up to 67.9 µM and repaired beta pancreas cells damage. Dose of 42 mg/kg bw of Sechium edule ethanolicextract is the effective dose for diabetic rat therapy. Key words: Sechium edule extract, diabetic mellitus, rat, beta pancreas cells

Abstract

Development activity and rapid technological advances impacting on the environment that is pollution and damage to the environment. Good management needs to be done to restore the environment and prevent the damage is getting worse. Everyone has the right in the management of the environment. Educational institutions like Adiwiyata high school is expected to join on protection and preservation of the environment because of formal environmental education has been integrated into the school curriculum is thereby expected students already have a good knowledge of the environment and a high level of awareness. Research aims to find out the influence of the knowledge of environmental management and environmental awareness towards the participation of high school students in Malang. The research is classified as a research survey with questionnaire likert-scale instruments. Research done on May until July at four adiwiyata senior high schools namely SMAN 2, SMAN 5, SMAN 7, and SMAN 8 Malang. Sample research totalling 100 people at each school so that the total sample is 400 students drawn at random (random sampling). Data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis, T-test, F-test, and that previous test has been carried out normality test, multicolinierity test, and heteroskedastisity. The result showed that knowledge of environmental management and environmental awareness are jointly influenced the participation of students in the preservation of the environment.   Kegiatan pembangunan dan pesatnya kemajuan teknologi berdampak pada lingkungan yaitu pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan hidup. Pengelolaan yang baik perlu dilakukan untuk memulihkan lingkungan dan mencegah kerusakan yang semakin parah. Setiap orang berhak dalam pengelolaan lingkungan hidup. Institusi pendidikan khususnya SMA Adiwiyata diharapkan ikut berpartisi pada perlindungan dan pelestarian lingkungan sebab secara formal pendidikan lingkungan hidup telah terintegrasi ke dalam kurikulum sekolah dengan demikian diharapkan siswa telah memiliki pengetahuan lingkungan yang baik dan tingkat kesadaran lingkungan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup dan kesadaran lingkungan terhadap partisipasi siswa sma negeri di kota malang. Penelitian diklasifikasikan sebagai penelitian survei dengan instrumen kuesioner berskala likert. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2017 di empat sekolah adiwiyata yaitu SMAN 2, SMAN 5, SMAN 7, dan SMAN 8 Kota Malang. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 100 orang pada masing-masing sekolah sehingga total sampel adalah 400 siswa yang diambil secara acak (random sampling). Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda, uji T, dan uji F yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan uji normalitas, uji multikolinieritas, dan uji heteroskedastisitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup dan kesadaran lingkungan secara bersama-sama berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap partisipasi siswa.

Abstract

Purpose of this community service is to provides education on the benefit of aquatic plants for human health. In Simalungun, this service was provided with a socialization and questionnaire approach. Because aquatic plants include secondary metabolite chemicals that can treat diseases, the results of the counseling showed that the community did not understand the benefits of aquatic plants for human health. From the counseling, it was seen that the community has a very high level of passion and is increasingly aware of the benefits of aquatic plants for human health.

Abstract

Single garlic is known to have many benefits as an alternative therapy for various types of metabolic syndrome. The bioactive compounds, allicin and alliin, in garlic are unstable and easily degraded in digestion. Chitosan-alginate microencapsulation is thought to increase stability and protect active compound so its therapeutic effect is more optimal. This study aimed to characterize the microencapsulation chitosan-alginate of single garlic extract (MCA- SGE), as well as to examine the antioxidant activity and kinetic release of MCA-SGE in vitro. The research procedure includes the steps of single garlic extraction, preparation of MCA-SGE, characterization of MCA-SGE (PSA, SEM, and FTIR) as well as biological testing of MCA-SGE through antioxidant activity and kinetic release tests. PSA results showed the mean particle size of MCA-SGE was 439.0 ± 1.9 nm or 0.4 m with a polydispersity index (PDI) value of 0.579 ± 0.046 and a zeta potential value of 15.4 ± 0.3 mV. The SEM results showed that the morphology of MCA-SGE was spherical with a smooth surface and a micrometre size of 0.4 - 0.7 µm. The FTIR results describe a shift in absorption and addition of SGE functional groups after encapsulation. The results of the antioxidant activity test showed the antioxidant activity of MCA-SGE was 65%, while SGE was 55%. The results of the kinetic release showed that more allicin and alliin were released by SGE than MCA-SGE during the 4-hour kinetic release simulation. MCA-SGE has the potential to be used as a drug delivery system with controlled release.

Abstract

Potensi lokal idealnya dapat dihadirkan dalam pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang proses inkuiri siswa. Selama ini, mayoritas guru masih berfokus pada buku teks dan belum mengoptimalkan potensi lokal untuk membelajarkan materi Biologi, termasuk materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing materi Struktur dan Fungsi Jaringan Tumbuhan yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D oleh Thiagarajan, namun hanya dilakukan sampai tahap develop saja. Data hasil penelitian berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persentase skor validasi perangkat pembelajaran berupa Silabus, RPP, LKS, dan Instrumen Penilaian menghasilkan rata-rata sebesar 91,92% (sangat valid dan layak digunakan). Hasil uji kepraktisan penggunaan perangkat pembelajaran diperoleh persentase rata-rata 88,96% (sangat praktis digunakan). Data uji keefektifan menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata kompetensi siswa sebesar 84,31. Kompetensi ranah pengetahuan menunjukkan ketuntasan siswa pada kompetensi ranah pengetahuan sejumlah 85,18%.

Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder affecting social interaction, communication, and behavior. One of the interventions for children with ASD is a Gluten-Free Casein-Free (GFCF) diet. However, implementing the GFCF diet is often challenging due to a lack of understanding and skills in preparing appropriate food. This study aims to provide training on GFCF-based food processing for students of the Social Work Program at SMK Negeri 2 Malang, using a pretest-posttest one-group design to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. A total of 12 students participated in the training, and data analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge, with an average pretest score of 74.92 and a posttest score of 89.17. The t-test results also indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.003). In addition, satisfaction surveys revealed that participants were satisfied with the materials and facilitators, and were motivated to apply the acquired knowledge in social work practice and entrepreneurship in GFCF-based food processing. This training was deemed effective in improving participants' knowledge and skills regarding the GFCF diet for children with ASD.   Abstrak Gangguan spektrum autisme (Autism Spectrum Disorder/ASD) adalah gangguan perkembangan yang memengaruhi interaksi sosial, komunikasi, dan perilaku. Salah satu intervensi yang digunakan untuk anak dengan ASD adalah diet bebas gluten dan kasein (Gluten-Free Casein-Free/GFCF). Namun, penerapan diet GFCF seringkali menjadi tantangan karena kurangnya pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan panganan yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pengolahan panganan berbasis diet GFCF kepada peserta didik Program Keahlian Pekerjaan Sosial di SMK Negeri 2 Malang, dengan menggunakan metode pretest-posttest one-group design untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan. Sebanyak 12 peserta didik mengikuti pelatihan ini, dan hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan peserta, dengan rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 74,92 dan posttest sebesar 89,17. Hasil uji-t juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest (p = 0.003). Selain itu, survei kepuasan menunjukkan bahwa peserta merasa puas dengan materi dan fasilitator, serta termotivasi untuk menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dalam praktik pekerjaan sosial dan kewirausahaan di bidang pengolahan panganan berbasis diet GFCF. Pelatihan ini dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta mengenai diet GFCF untuk anak ASD.

Abstract

Hipertensi atau tekanan darah tinggi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang signifikan di masyarakat sejalan dengan meningkatnya prevalensi penyakit di Indonesia dan global. Kondisi ini sering tidak bergejala namun dapat menyebabkan komplikasi serius seperti penyakit jantung dan strok yang memerlukan biaya pengobatan tinggi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan solusi preventif yang efektif dan terjangkau. Salah satu pendekatan yang menjanjikan adalah penggunaan bawang putih tunggal yang difermentasi (aged garlic) yang diketahui memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif lebih tinggi setelah fermentasi seperti allicin yang efektif menurunkan tekanan darah dan meningkatkan kesehatan kardiovaskular. Pelatihan pembuatan fermentasi bawang putih tunggal yang dilakukan oleh PKK RW 6 Jatimulyo bertujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dengan keterampilan ini, tidak hanya untuk meningkatkan kesehatan tetapi juga sebagai peluang ekonomi. Melalui pelatihan ini, peserta mempelajari proses fermentasi dari awal hingga akhir serta cara memasarkan produk aged garlic sebagai usaha tambahan. Berdasarkan inisiatif ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi dan kesehatan masyarakat Jatimulyo serta menjadi model bagi daerah lain dalam menangani masalah serupa.
