Abstract

Purpose: One of the important elements in the implementation of education is an effort to improve the quality of learning. Until now, the implementation of learning in vocational schools still follows a non-block system. This condition results in the practice carried out by students not achieving optimal completion, so that the required standard competencies are not met. One solution is to implement a block learning system including the effectiveness of time, tools, and location. This type of research is quantitative with a population of class X students of the office management and business service expertise program at SMKS YPM 3 Taman. The results of the study found that regarding learning using the block system, many students stated that this system was not boring. In our study on the implementation of the block system, they argued that the block system helps students focus more on learning because it uses a longer time. Methodology/Approach: This study adopts a quantitative approach Findings: In our study on the implementation of the block system, many students stated that this system is not boring. They argued that the block system helps students focus more on learning because it uses a longer time. Research limitations/implications: The limitation of this study is that the population focus was only taken from 1 school. Practical implications: For further research, it is hoped that several populations from various new schools that are implementing the block system can be used. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of intelligence on soft skill competence and to analyze models predicting improvements in soft skill competence based on intelligence in maritime vocational colleges under the Ministry of Transportation, which is responsible for producing seafarers in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative and inferential approach to test the hypothesis. Data were collected from 217 prospective graduates at the Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya, Indonesia. The sampling technique used is stratified cluster random sampling, selecting samples from three majors: Nautical, Engineering, and Electrical. The instruments used in this research include standardized tests and a questionnaire, both of which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with Smart PLS software to examine the structural relationships among variables and produce a predictive model of soft skill competence based on intellectual intelligence (IQ) and Adversity Quotient (AQ). The results of this study indicate a significant and positive direct influence of IQ on soft skill competence by 50% and an indirect influence of IQ on soft skill competence through AQ by 6.8%. The analysis further reveals a positive and significant influence of IQ on AQ by 21.4% and a direct positive influence of AQ on soft skill competence by 31.8%. The structural analysis of the model using PLS demonstrates that IQ and AQ together influence soft skill competence with an overall predictive power of 44.9%. This research contributes to understanding the relationship between intelligence and soft skills development, which can serve as a foundation for formulating maritime vocational education policies. The findings highlight the importance of integrating both cognitive intelligence and resilience-building strategies into maritime education curricula to enhance the preparedness and employability of future seafarers.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to investigate the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of Statistics textbooks in Economic Education based on problem-based learning. Method: This research used a development research model. Model development in teaching materials contextual-based and problem-solving used model 4-P is adapted from the development model of the 4-D by Thiagarajan. Results: Recently, we revealed a novel acquisition of statistics textbooks at a very feasible level. A very practical level of practicality was obtained by the perception of 87% of students and 80% of lecturers, and then the effectiveness of the category is very effective with 80% classical completeness. Novelty: Therefore, this statistics textbook for economics education attempts to integrate a project-based learning model, from pre-research to publication, to provide students with a comprehensive research experience. This is based on validation results from various aspects, including material coverage, updates, and productivity insights. Based on the material coverage, there is a good match between the available core competencies and students' needs for the material.

Abstract

The life of the 21st century requires creativity to answer the challenges of life's problems. Thus, teachers need cultivate creative students who are very supportive of life which is manifested in the behavior, knowledge, and skills shown through creativity. Teachers are encouraged to cultivate Higher-order Thinking (HOTS) in students in learning activities, not least in learning economics. The HOTS-based learning model must be followed by an HOT-based evaluation as well. However, in reality many teachers still have not applied this model in their teaching activities or still refer to the conventional model. In an effort to improve the quality of teachers, various efforts have been made, one of which is through online seminars. This research is a descriptive study with a percentage to analyze the data obtained. This activity-based research is intended to see the effect of online seminar activities in increasing teacher knowledge to develop HOTS-based questions. This activity was attended by 204 economics teachers as the object of the activity. Data was obtained through questionnaires and documentation using the Google-form platform. The results of data analysis show that online seminar activities are proven to improve teacher understanding in preparing HOTS-based questions.

Abstract

21st century learning requires teachers to be able to create students who are knowledgeable, pious, and have character to be ready to face various educational challenges in the industrial revolution era. Economics teachers as an integral part of other subject teachers have a sense of professional responsibility and moral responsibility in preparing the nation's young generation. The analysis of students often has difficulty understanding macro and micro economic concepts that have not been answered by teachers in learning. So we need smart solutions to overcome them through changing the mindset of teachers in facing the challenges of teaching to be creative and willing to be good facilitators for students. The fusion of information technology applications in society needs to be revitalized in economic learning that is more effective, efficient and efficacy through strengthening economics teachers. Based on the urgency and conceptual ideas, the researcher intends to provide training for economics teachers in East Java on constructivist learning in economics learning to be able to improve students' critical thinking. This research was carried out using a participatory approach through the participation of teachers in seminar activities and continued with practical activities for training in constructivistic economic learning models and methods. The goal is to build critical thinking towards 21st century economic learning which is prepared independently by economics teachers. The results of the study indicate that the activities of developing constructivist-based economic learning models and methods have been proven to improve teacher understanding and skills as a form of developing strategies to build critical thinking.

Abstract

use of less interactive text teaching modules makes students less enthusiastic and have difficulty in understanding the concept of digital marketing in depth so that it can affect the learning outcomes of these students. This study aims to develop an interactive module in digital marketing learning to improve the learning outcomes of vocational high school students. The research method is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE method type which includes the stages of analysis research (analyze), design stage (design), development stage (development), implementation stage (implementation), and evaluation (evaluation). The interactive module developed contains digital marketing learning materials, interactive evaluations, and multimedia content accessed via Android devices. The results of validation by material experts, language experts, and media experts showed that the interactive module developed was declared very feasible to use. Product trials were conducted on 40 vocational high school students who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study showed that the use of interactive modules significantly improved student learning outcomes. The research results show that the use of interactive modules significantly improves student learning outcomes. Furthermore, student responses to the interactive modules were very positive, both in terms of ease of use, appeal, and efficiency. Therefore, these interactive modules are effective in digital marketing learning to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The This study aims to explore the implementation of online learning of Teaching Skills and Microteaching courses, focusing on three main aspects: preparation, implementation, and evaluation of learning. This study also considers the challenges that arise due to student involvement in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which often affects the consistency of their participation in regular learning. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study design. The results showed that online learning was quite effective in conveying teaching skills theory through digital materials and asynchronous activities. However, teaching practice simulations faced several limitations, such as the difficulty of observing non-verbal elements, classroom management, and spontaneous responses of students during online simulations. Technical constraints, especially unstable internet connections, were also major obstacles in implementing learning. In addition, students involved in MBKM reported difficulties in dividing time between program assignments and regular course preparation, which impacted their participation and engagement.
