Abstract

Abstract

In the development of climbing perch cultivation, there are several factors that are still obstacles, namely, slow growth and low survival, especially in the critical period phase, namely the post-larval phase. The aim of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of giving Daphnia sp with viterna enrichment on the survival and growth of climbing perch post-larval. Proximate analysis was carried out at the end of the research to see the nutritional content of the enriched Daphnia sp. Sampling was carried out at the beginning and end of the study with a maintenance period of 30 days. During rearing the larvae were given Daphnia sp 2 times a day. This study used RAL for 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely: treatment A (control), B (viterna enrichment 10 ml/l), C (viterna enrichment 20 ml/l) and treatment D (viterna enrichment 30 ml/l). The proximate test results showed that treatment B produced the highest protein content, namely 59.61%, while the control treatment was 49.45%. Survival rates range between 76-88%. Relative weight growth ranged between 214.41-524.69% while relative length ranged between 29.24-59.62%. Treatment B produced the best relative growth in weight and length but was not statistically significantly different from the other treatments. Treatment D produced the best survival but after statistical tests it was not significantly different between treatments.

Abstract

This study aims to identify mangrove species and map the density of mangrove vegetation in the Tanjung Pemancingan area, Kotabaru, using an object-based classification method (OBIA) applied to Sentinel‑2 imagery and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data. Mangroves play a crucial role in protecting coastlines from erosion and serving as habitats for various species, making an in‑depth understanding of mangrove distribution and types essential for coastal conservation and environmental management. The OBIA method allows for more accurate mapping by considering texture, shape, and more complex spatial patterns compared to traditional pixel‑based methods. In this study, OBIA is combined with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm and an optimized multiscale segmentation scheme to improve mangrove species discrimination, and the resulting products are linked with NDVI‑based canopy density classes for management‑oriented analysis. The analysis utilizes Sentinel‑2 Level‑2A satellite imagery with a spatial resolution of 10 × 10 meters (bands 8, 4, 3, and 2) and very high‑resolution UAV data (≈ 4.0 cm/pixel) generated from flights at 150 m altitude. The NDVI values for mangroves in the study area range from −0.30 to 0.686 and are classified into three canopy density classes using the equal interval method: sparse (−0.30 to 0.026), moderate (0.027 to 0.356), and dense (0.357 to 0.686). The OBIA method combined with the SVM algorithm successfully discriminates seven mangrove species with an overall accuracy (OA) of 72.46%, which exceeds the minimum 70% accuracy standard for mangrove land cover and canopy density interpretation set by the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). The identified mangrove species include Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Avicennia officinalis, Avicennia rumphiana, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Rhizophora apiculata, and Sonneratia alba, with A. rumphiana being the most dominant species, covering an area of 13.87 hectares, while A. officinalis occupies only 0.6 hectares. The mangrove vegetation density and species composition are successfully mapped and integrated, providing valuable information that can be used in conservation planning, coastal resource management, disaster mitigation, and ecotourism development in the area. Furthermore, these results highlight the potential of combining Sentinel‑2, UAV, OBIA, and SVM as an operational framework for mangrove ecosystem monitoring in coastal industrial settings

Abstract

Banjarbaru City is one of the regencies/cities in South Kalimantan Province which continues to develop in various sectors, one of which is mining. Among the mining areas that left traces of voids in Banjarbaru include the Lake Seran quarry which was once a sand mining site, as well as the Pumpung quarry which was a diamond mining location. Remains of former mining excavations that are left for a long time will be filled with water which accumulates various substances remaining at the excavation site, especially heavy metals which in general are important parameters and affect water quality. This study aims to examine the quality of ex-mine water in Banjarbaru by focusing on analysis through the Pollution Index (IP) of heavy metal parameters in the waters of the research location. The results obtained are that the ex-mine pits in Lake Seran and Pumpung, Banjarbaru City, have quite good water quality, where most of them are at class 2 quality standards. However, further management is needed to improve water quality at some points that are still not meets class 2 quality standards so that it is included in the category of lightly polluted. Keywords:MiningHeavy MetalsWater QualityPollution Index
