Abstract

Understanding the interpretation of the Qur'an as the basis for the life of Muslims is very important. This refers to the rules and regulations that apply the Islamic religion to all aspects of Muslim life. Several steps that can be implemented in understanding the content and interpretation of the Qur’an are using an independent method by reading various literature recommended or written by commentators, or even following studies on the interpretation of the Qur’an, both formal and non-formal, that have been carried out in various forms, both in writing and orally. These efforts are not only about reaching certain targets among the common people; they must also be among the elite and community leaders, so that they will not only be recipients of knowledge about the Qur'an but also presenters and givers. This effort must be developed and increased again in the future in order to make the Qur'an a source of nur, huda, and dhikr for the people as a whole.

Abstract

In Islamic law, tradition/custom is known as Urf, which is ‘something that is considered good and accepted by common sense’. The patterns and differences in the customs of each community in a particular area are caused by the cultural values that underlie the life of the local community. Similarly, the customs adopted by the Labuhan Bilik community in Central Panai Sub-district have a variety of cultures, one of which is the wage-upah custom. This wage-upah custom received two different responses from Islamic mass organisation leaders, namely Muhammadiyah leaders of Panai Tengah Subdistrict and Al-Washliyah leaders of Panai Tengah Subdistrict. This research aims to find out how the implementation, the value contained in the wage-upah custom in the Labuhan Bilik community, how the opinions of Muhammadiyah Leaders and Al-Washliyah Leaders of Central Panai District, as well as which opinion is more relevant in relation to the chronology in Labuhan Bilik Central Panai District. This research uses a comparative empirical sociological research method, qualitative research type with an anthropological approach. The results show that the opinion of Muhammadiyah leaders is more relevant to be applied in Labuhan Bilik, because the wage-upah custom is a form of practice that is a hereditary custom that was not taught by the Prophet, as well as customs that resemble the culture of another religion, namely Hinduism, if you want to show affection or want to give encouragement, just pray directly to Allah swt without going through other intermediaries.

Abstract

Interrelation of Human Evolution Theory and Al-Mishbah Interpretation: In-depth Insights into the Creation of HumanityThis study explores the concept of human creation in the Qur'an and the widely discussed human evolution theory. It addresses the interpretation of human creation according to Quraish Shihab and the interrelation between Quraish Shihab's interpretation and evolutionary theory, leading to the emergence of connections between evolutionary theory and Al-Mishbah interpretation, which can be explored by interpreters. Building upon these issues, the study reveals that evolutionary theory not only explains human evolution but is also related to all living beings in nature. Unlike Darwin's theory, which suggests that humans originated from apes, this study emphasizes the correlation between human evolution theory and Al-Mishbah's interpretation of human creation, both for the first human and subsequent generations. This is evident in the Qur'an's depiction of human creation after Prophet Adam, detailing the inevitable changes from infancy to old age. Human evolution is closely linked to the Qur'an, contrasting with Darwinian evolution, as the Qur'an specifies the origin of humans, as interpreted by Quraish Shihab. The research employs a literature review methodology, drawing data from relevant sources

Abstract

Religious moderation fiqh is an approach to the study of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) that emphasizes a moderate, balanced and tolerant understanding of Islamic teachings. which is indicated in the verses of the Koran. The concept of moderation in the Qur'an refers to an approach that avoids extremism, fanaticism and exaggeration (at-Tharruf ad-Dini) in dealing with religious issues. Jurisprudence of moderation promotes a complete and universal understanding that is in line with the principles of simplicity, tolerance, inclusivity and justice in understanding and practicing Islamic teachings according to the instructions and guidance of the Qur'an. In this study, the authors used library research, namely the research object, mainly commentary books and a little field approach. . Based on the objectives of this research, it includes basic research, namely research in order to broaden and sharpen theoretical knowledge and understanding. The results of the study found that religious moderation fiqh according to the Koran basically directs people to understand the deep meaning contained in the Koran regarding religious moderation as a whole and universal, not narrowly and textually. Many Muslim groups understand the text of the verses of the Koran superficially and textually, resulting in the emergence of a radical and extreme understanding that is not in accordance with the messages intended by the Koran itself. intact and universal verses of religious moderation will create harmony among religious communities, even among the religions themselves.

Abstract

The word "syafa’a" (intercession) refers to Allah SWT's generous display of grace in the form of assistance. Intercession on the last day is the most expected part of every human being. Specifically, giving intercession can be analogized as a request to get good and avoid evil. One of the classifications of intercession on the Day of Judgement is intercession. The group of people who get this intercession are people who have a heart that is firmly attached to the Al-Qur'an, making the Al-Qur'an a guide, leader, and guide in their lives. The review of the concept of intercession in the Qur'an given by Allah SWT will be analysed using a descriptive qualitative approach based on several literatures, laws, and opinions of the scholars. The data used in this research refers to the hadith of the Prophet, quotations from Al-Quran verses, and reviews of the opinions of scholars who are oriented towards the intercession of the Qur'an. The results of the research show that intercession in the Qur'an is a gift from Allah, and only He has the full power to give intercession to whoever He wants. Syafa'at is not an absolute guarantee or an opportunity to commit sins, but is a mercy from Allah that can benefit those who are pleased with Him.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the semantic meaning of the word fitnah contained in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 191 by using Imam At-Thobari's tafsir perspective in his work, Jami' al-Bayan fi Ta'wil Ay al-Qur'an. A descriptive-analytical approach is used to explore Imam At-Thobari's understanding of the meaning of the word fitnah, by considering the root of the word (fi'tan), its use in various Qur'anic contexts, and its relevance to the socio-religious situation in the early days of Islam. The results show that the word fitnah has a complex and multidimensional meaning that includes trials, torture, oppression, chaos, deviation of faith, and actions that threaten the stability of faith and society. In the context of Surah Al-Baqarah verse 191, Imam At-Thobari explained that fitnah refers to disbelief, oppression of Muslims, and systematic efforts made by the polytheists of Quraysh to obstruct the preaching of Islam in Makkah before the hijrah. Furthermore, this study confirms that the understanding of the word fitnah cannot be separated from the historical context and social dynamics at the time of revelation. This finding not only enriches the treasures of Qur'anic interpretation but also provides a relevant perspective for Muslims in understanding contemporary challenges related to tests of faith, oppression, and social conflict. Thus, this research contributes to broadening the understanding of the meaning of the Qur'ān and its application in people's lives in various times.

Abstract

The practice of circumcision among the Muslim community began during the time of Abraham (peace be upon him) and continues for generations to this day. This reality makes circumcision no longer limited to practice but has been transformed into a living tradition in the community. This is also corroborated by the prophet's hadith which mentions circumcision as one of the five human natures, including part of the process of becoming an adult. However, many children and infants have been circumcised. This phenomenon eventually raises the question: what is the rule of circumcision in Islam, and when is the prescribed time for a Muslim to perform circumcision?. These questions will be analyzed through a descriptive-analytical approach based on library research to find the answers that are comprehensive, scientific, and in line with Islamic rules. In this case, Ibn Hajar's thoughts in Kitab Fath al-Bari become the main source of study, supported by several relevant studies. The results show that the original law of circumcision is mustahab and then becomes obligatory when a person reaches the age of puberty. As for the timing of circumcision, Islam does not specify the ideal circumcision. A person can be circumcised when he is a toddler, a child, and maximum when he is a teenager who enters the age of puberty. The timing is more inclined to the doctor's recommendation so that the circumcision process causes bigger problems in the future.

Abstract

The Qur'an, as the holy book of Muslims, contains scientific signs that direct humans to reflect on natural phenomena as signs of the greatness of Allah SWT. Surah Ar-Rahman, one of the surahs rich in scientific signs, invites humans to explore science and understand the universe through a scientific approach. In this context, Tantawi Jawhari, through Tafsir al-Jawahir, stands out as an interpreter with a scientific approach that connects the verses of the Qur'an with the discoveries of modern science, showing that divine revelation and science complement each other. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive-analytical nature that uses a hermeneutic and contextual approach with data sources originating from the book Tafsir al-Jawahir and supporting literature, which are processed through the stages of identification, classification, and thematic interpretation of verses containing scientific signs with content and contextual analysis methods used to draw conclusions systematically and comprehensively. These findings confirm that Surah Ar-Rahman not only provides spiritual guidance but also offers scientific insights that encourage humans to be grateful, maintain the balance of nature, and utilize science wisely. This study concludes that the Qur'an and science complement each other, providing guidelines for a harmonious and sustainable life.
