Abstract

Abstract

The limited participation and motivation of students in conventional, lecturer-centered learning environments highlight the necessity for technological innovations that actively promote student engagement. This study aims to design and develop an interactive learning medium utilizing ClassPoint for the Linear Algebra course. The research adopted the ADDIE development model, encompassing the analysis, design, and development phases, and was limited to the validation stage. Two experts served as validators: one in content and the other in instructional media. Validation data were analyzed through quantitative descriptive techniques by calculating the mean percentage score and categorizing feasibility across four assessment aspects—content, presentation, language, and visual design. The validation results revealed that the ClassPoint-based learning media achieved a “highly valid” classification, with an average score exceeding 83%. These findings indicate that the developed media are suitable for classroom implementation and have strong potential to enhance students’ motivation and engagement through interactive features. Future research is recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of the media during the implementation stage, particularly concerning learning outcomes and the development of 21st-century skills.. Keywords: ClassPoint, interactive learning media, media validation, Linear Algebra, ADDIE model.

Abstract

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are one of the competencies needed in the 21st century. The aim of this study is to describe the mathematical literacy skills of high school students on the Cambridge curriculum angle material. This study was conducted in class X-A MAS Istiqlal Jakarta with 27 research subjects. The research method used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection technique used a validated mathematical literacy test consisting of 5 essay questions with three indicators: formulate, employ, and interpret. The results showed that mathematical literacy skills were in the high category of 11%, the medium category was 70%, and the low category was 19%. The majority of students missed the formulate and interpret stages and made process errors at the employ stage

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of errors and the factors causing these errors by seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta when solving mathematics problems involving integer arithmetic operations. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. Data collection was conducted using tests and interviews. Written tests were conducted to identify students' errors based on Soedjadi's mathematical concepts, which are categorized into factual errors, conceptual errors, principle errors, and operational errors. Interviews were conducted to determine the cognitive aspects contributing to students' errors. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach, consisting of several stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that conceptual errors were the most common errors made by students when solving arithmetic problems involving integers. The cognitive factors contributing to these errors were remembering (C1), understanding (C2), and applying (C3)

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid and feasible electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) using a Game-based Learning method assisted by the Liveworksheets application on the material of two-variable linear equation systems. The research method used is developmental research with the ADDIE research model through the stages of analyze, design, develop, implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 109 Jakarta with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and questionnaires, which were then analyzed using a combination method with an embedded concurrent model. The validity and feasibility of the media can be found in the results of validation and suggestions and comments from expert validators, as well as assessments from teachers and students. The validity and feasibility results from the expert validators were 93.7% (very valid) and media assessments from teachers and students were 90.6% (very feasible). The results of this study indicate that the learning media developed is feasible to be used in school learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of critical thinking skills among junior high school students in solving mathematical word probleims, as evident from previous studies and the researcher's initial observations in the field. This study aims to describe the profil of junior high school students' errors in solving mathematical story problems in terms of critical thinking skills. The method used is qualitative descriptive with 32 seventh-grade students as subjects at a public junior high school in South Tambun in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research instrument was an essay test containing five story problems developed based on critical thinking ability indicators, including providing simple explanations, providing further explanations, determining strategies and techniquies, and drawing conclusions. The data were analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that most students were in the low critical thinking ability category (63%) and the rest were in the moderate category (37%), while no students reached the high category. Students with low critical thinking abilities tended to make mistakes in almost all indicators, while students with moderate abilities were able to meet most of the indicators but were not consistent, especially in determining solution strategieis and drawing conclusions. These findings indicate that the main weakness of students lies in the aspects of strategy planning and drawing conclusions, so mathematics learning that emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills through non- routine story problems and the use of targeted assessment rubrics is needed.
