Abstract

 Background of this research is student’s understanding of mathematic conseptual which still low and also students less motivation in learning mathematic. The purpose of this research is to know whether student’s mathematic conseptual understanding by active learning is better than using convensional learning at VIII grade students in Junior High School Number 10 Padang and how is student’s motivation in learning mathematic by using Tournament active Learning. This research is experimental research by using random sampling design. The instrument that is used in this research is test and questionnaire motivation of student’s mathematic conseptual understanding. The technique analysis for hypothesis is t test by using soft are MINITAB. Based on the data analysis, the research found P-value is less than α value in here H0 rejected, so hypothesis of this research is accepted, meanwhile the result of percentage data analysis for each item and indicator totall’y is good. From the analysis above, it can be conluded that student’s motivation and student’s mathematic conseptual understanding by using Tournament Active Learning is better than using conventional learning at VIII grade student in Junior High School Number 10 Padang and also, student’s motivation in learning mathematic at VIII grade students of Junior High School Number 10 Padang by using Tournament Active Learning is high.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The  research is based on the students understanding mathematical concepts are low and the students like to ask to her friends reather than to teachers. So low students learning out comes VIII-grade of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan of year 2013/2014. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students understanding mathematical concepts by applying the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan. This is experimental research with random to subject design. The population in this research is the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan. The technique of sample classes were determined randomly. The instrument used in this research is test for the understanding mathematical concepts. Based on the result of data analysis, it is know that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students mathematical concept apprehension. Using the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 4 Solok Selatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh motivasi belajar Kalkulus Vektor mahasiswa STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat yang masih rendah. Usaha yang dilakukan adalah dengan menerapkan strategi Question Student Have disertai Pemberian Modul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi yang diberikan setelah pelaksanaan perkuliahan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar mahasiswa dengan menggunakan strategi Question Student Have disertai pemberian modul sangat tinggi.

Abstract

One of the research objectives was formulated to improve the quality of education, namely by understanding the problems of students and teachers. There were three main groups of quality characteristics of education highlighted in scientific and academic literature in Russia, namely the quality of educational objectives, the quality of the educational process, and the quality of educational outcomes. The problem of education in Indonesia is the quality of the education process. The development of teaching materials is an alternative to improve the quality of the education process. Research so far has only focused on the implementation of learning models by teachers in the classroom, but the model is not integrated into the teaching materials used. This paper examines how the effectiveness of a product that has been developed for two years on 27 Indonesian students. The product produced is a guided discovery-based module in the Complex Analysis subject. This product was developed after the preliminary analysis (defining) process. Students are given 16 modules during lectures; then students are given a final test containing all the competencies that must be achieved. Test results are scored, and statistical analyses are conducted to compare them with student score before using the module. The test used is t-test. The design used is one of the experimental research designs, One Shot Case Study. The results of the study showed that students who were taught with modules developed effectively to improve student learning outcomes. Further research can be done by implementing different learning models in teaching materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis penemuan terbimbing yang praktis pada perkuliahan Analisis Kompleks. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dengan menggunakan model 4D, yaitu define, design, develop, dan dessiminate. Penelitian ini membahas tentang tahap develop, yakni praktikalitas modul. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dan pedoman wawancara. Angket diberikan kepada enam orang mahasiswa dengan sebelas butir pertanyaan yang ditinjau dari aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan, waktu, kemudahan interpretasi, dan ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar lain. Pedoman wawancara terdiri dari sebelas item dengan aspek yang sama pada instrumen angket praktikalitas. Data yang diperoleh berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan mencari presentase masing-masing item pada angket. Diperoleh rata-rata pada aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan modul sebesar 4,3, termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Aspek waktu diperoleh 3,5 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Aspek kemudahan interpretasi diperoleh 4,08 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Aspek ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar yang lain diperoleh 4,41 dikategorikan sangat praktis. Secara keseluruhan diperoleh rata-rata 4,07 yang artinya modul Analisis Kompleks berbasis penemuan terbimbing sangat praktis. Selain itu, untuk mendukung data praktikalitas dilakukan wawancara dengan mahasiswa, data ini dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif. Hasil wawancara secara keseluruhan diperoleh informasi bahwa mahasiswa mudah dalam menggunakan modul, waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam menggunakan modul relatif singkat, dan modul dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar. Ada beberapa revisi yang dilakukan pada modul berdasarkan saran mahasiswa, seperti memperbaiki penulisan, memperinci materi, dan menambahkan contoh soal. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the constructivism approach with the group investigation strategy on students' understanding of mathematical concepts at SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta. This research method is a quasi-experimental method with a post-test only control group design. The research instrument used was an instrument to test the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the form of 5 essay questions which had been declared valid and reliable. The target population of the research were all students of SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta with class VIII students of SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta as an affordable population. Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of finding out the problems found in tenth grade, or what is called Phase E. This research is expected to be able to overcome the problems of students who experience problems in solving problems by looking at students' learning styles. The type of research used in this research is a classroom action research method with a qualitative approach. The instruments used in this research were a learning style questionnaire, observation sheets to observe interactions between teachers and students, as well as interactions between students during the mathematics learning process. This research was conducted in phase E. From the research conducted, it was found that the use of teaching materials with differentiated learning styles can improve students' problem-solving abilities. It can be seen because there is an increase from the initial diagnostic student scores to the second cycle.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan praktikalitas dari buku ajar pecahan. Instrumen yang dipakai yaitu angket dan pedoman wawancara. Angket diisi oleh 10 orang siswa dan 5 orang guru dari 5 sekolah di kota Jakarta. Angket memuat 11 butir pernyataan yang dilihat dari aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan, waktu, kemudahan interpretasi, dan ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar lain. Pedoman wawancara juga terdiri atas 11 butir dengan aspek yang sama dengan angket praktikalitas dan diberikan pada subjek yang sama. Data yang didapatkan merupakan data kuantitatif (diperoleh dari isian angket) dan data kualitatif (diperoleh dari hasil wawancara). Data dari angket dianalisis dengan menghitung presentase masing-masing butir pernyataan dari siswa dan guru. Aspek kemudahan dalam penggunaan modul diperoleh 77,5%, dikategorikan praktis. Pada aspek waktu sebesar 75%, praktis. Aspek kemudahan interpretasi sebesar 83,2%, termasuk kategori sangat praktis. Aspek ekivalensi dengan bahan ajar yang lain diperoleh nilai 91% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Presentase rata-rata untuk semua aspek adalah 81,7%, artinya buku ajar sangat praktis. Selain itu, data praktikalitas juga diperoleh dengan melakukan wawancara terhadap siswa dan guru, hasilnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Siswa dapat menggunakan buku ajar dengan mudah, waktu yang diperlukan untuk mempelajari buku ajar relatif singkat, dan buku ajar bisa dipakai untuk sumber belajar. Beberapa revisi dilakukan terhadap buku ajar berdasarkan saran yang diberikan oleh siswa dan guru, contohnya merevisi penulisan, penjelasan materi dibuat lebih rinci, dan memperbanyak contoh soal. Buku ajar setelah direvisi akan digunakan untuk uji coba kelas besar guna melihat efektivitas buku ajar. Kata Kunci: Praktikalitas, buku ajar, pecahan, slow learner, Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh pendekatan konstruktivisme dengan strategi group investigation terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP Negeri 99 Jakarta. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode quasi experiment dengan post-test only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan cluster random sampling diperoleh sampel penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas kontrol dan VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi peluang yang telah dinyatakan diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya.
