Abstract

Rabies is a new emerging disease in Bali. The first rabies case was reported in October 2008 atKedonganan and Jimbaran village, District of South Kuta, Badung regency. The rabies diseasehas now been distributed to all areas of Bali causing death of more than a hundred of human beingand thousands of dogs. The aim of the studies was to make a map of rabies distribution in Balibased on cases in animals (dog and Bali cattle) and human. The research was conducted bymaking a field surveys in nine regency of Bali. The surveys were focused on the occurrence ofhuman and animal rabies at the village level. The open ended questionaire was used in this surveyto collect data, and the secondary data also used in this study. Based on rabies disease mapping,it showed that the rabies have been distributed to eight regency and one city, covered 281 villagesout of 722 villages in Bali. In conclusion, the rabies had been distributed to all parts of Bali in threeyears periods.

Abstract

Itik bali (Anas sp.) merupakan plasma nutfah asli Indonesia yang dimanfaatkan daging dan telur. Keberadaan itik bali masih kurang mendapat perhatian secara khusus mengenai struktur dan morfometri dasar organ penunjang kehidupan, khususnya usus besar. Seiring masa pertumbuhan, organ itik bali mengalami perkembangan bobot dan struktur. Hal ini yang menyebabkan adanya perbedaan morfometri pada usus besar di umur yang berbeda. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional non-eksperimental menggunakan itik bali jantan dengan tiga kelompok umur yang mewakili setiap fase, yaitu fase starter (1 bulan), fase grower (3 bulan), dan fase finisher (5 bulan. Hasil pengukuran sekum kiri dan kanan serta kolon itik bali umur 1 bulan meliputi panjang, lebar, dan berat secara berturut-turut yaitu 14,65±0,65 cm, 1,16±0,23 cm, 1,10±0,32 g; 13,70±0,87 cm, 1,01±0,24 cm, 0,96±0,41 g; dan 8,05±0,74 cm, 1,76±0,28 cm, 2,32±0,11 g. Sekum kiri dan kanan serta kolon itik bali berumur 3 bulan berturut-turut yaitu 15,43±1,65cm, 1,05±0,06 cm, 1,83±0,20 g; 13,83±1,59 cm, 1,03±0,10 cm, 1,83±0,20 g; dan 9,08±0,81 cm, 2,15±0,26 cm, 4,66±0,88 g. Sedangkan sekum kiri dan kanan serta kolon itik bali berumur 5 bulan berturut-turut yaitu 18,45±1,34 cm, 1,09±0,96 cm, 2,16±0,32 g; 17,63±1,32 cm, 1,05±0,05 cm, 2,05±0,42 g; dan 10,33±1,50 cm, 2,21±0,23cm, 5,25±0,38 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan struktur anatomi dan histologi yang sama, tetapi dalam pengamatan morfometri dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan umur memiliki pengaruh yang nyata terhadap peningkatan morfometri anatomi usus besar itik bali.

Abstract

This research was conducted on 25 cows at the Bali Superior Cattle Breeding Center in Gerokgak, Buleleng district. Data was collected by purposive sampling method and then processed using SPSS IBM 26 with descriptive and biplot analysis, then presented in the form of tables and biplot graphs. The results obtained indicate that the most varied coefficient of variance is the length of the upper foreleg of 22.8369%, then followed by the length of the upper hind leg of 19.3704%, the length of the middle hind leg of 17.1938%, the length of the forefoot the lower part obtained a score of 14.3102%, the length of the middle forefoot was 12.0132% and the most uniform was the length of the lower back leg of 10.6815%. The length of the lower hind legs is positively correlated with the length of the lower forelegs, the length of the middle hind legs is positively correlated with the length of the middle forelegs, as well as the length of the upper hind legs is positively correlated with the length of the front legs of the tatas, but the length of the middle forelegs negatively correlated with the length of the upper hind leg and between the length of the middle forefoot and the length of the upper hind leg was not correlated with the length of the upper forefoot. To get a uniform Bali cow, it is necessary to select the length of the upper forelegs.

Abstract

The Bali duck is one of the original Indonesian germplasm whose distribution is endemic in Bali. This study aims to determine the anatomical structure, histology, and morphometry of the small intestine of Bali ducks at different ages. In this study, samples of the small intestine of Bali ducks aged 1 month, 3 months, and 5 months were used as many as 18 male Bali ducks. Bali ducks were obtained from one of the duck farms in Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. Sampling of the small intestine was carried out in three parts, namely the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, then the organs were fixed with 10% NBF which was then made histological preparations with HE staining. The research results are presented in the form of qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the anatomical structure of the small intestine, namely the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, had the same composition, boundaries and shape in ducks of different ages, while the histological structure of the small intestine, namely the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, was composed of four layers, namely the tunica mucosa, tunica submucosa. tunica muscularis and the outermost is the tunica serosa. Small intestine morphometry results in Balinese ducks at different ages had a significant difference at 1 and 3 months, 1 and 5 months, whereas in ducks at 3 and 5 months they were not so significant in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is no change in the anatomical structure in terms of composition, boundaries, and shape, while histologically , each Balinese duck small intestine is composed of four layers including the tunica mucosa, tunica submucosa, tunica serosa and serosa, while based on the results of intestinal morphometry fine bali ducks have significant differences in each age of bali ducks both in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, so it is necessary to do further research on female ducks and perform histomorphometry on each layer.

Abstract

Bali cattle are one of the original cattle breeds in Indonesia. Selecting to produce good offspring is an important factor in bali cattle management. In selecting bali cattle, the diversity and correlation between body length dimensions can be used as a benchmark. The potential of the bali cattle population in Gerokgak makes it possible to apply for certification as a source area for bali cattle so that it can become a certified superior bali cattle model. This research was conducted by measuring the length of the head, neck, body, ears, tail, and horn on 25 cattles at Pusat Pembibitan Sapi Bali Unggul Gerokgak by purposive sampling method. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis and biplot analysis, presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results of the most diverse diversity of length dimensions are horn length, which is 18.2082% and the most similar is the head length of 4.9797%. Body length is positively correlated with head length, therefore in selecting bali cattle, head length can be used as an alternative to determine the classification of superior breeds of cattle and breeders are advised to pay attention to internal and external factors in the maintenance of bali cattle.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity and correlation between depth and height dimensions of bali cows based on depth and height dimensions of bali cattle and can be used as an indication in selecting bali cattle breeders at Pusat Pembibitan Sapi Bali Unggul (PPSBU) in Desa Gerokgak, Buleleng, Bali. The research object used consisted of 25 Bali cows in PPSBU. The data obtained were then analyzed by descriptive analysis to find the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variance. The correlation between the dimensions of depth and body height was analyzed by biplot analysis. The results obtained that the Bali cattle reared at PBSBU Gerogak, Buleleng, Bali had the greatest diversity (various) in the chest, which was 18.1191%, followed by the neck at 17, 5706%, the plank height was 16. ,1236%, 11.9739% in steering and the most uniform is body height, which is 5.3987%. Body height is positively correlated with deep neck and plank height, but not correlated with inside chest and in steering wheel, while plank height is correlated negative with in the chest and in the rudder.

Abstract

Ginjal merupakan organ ekskresi yang berperan dalam membuang zat sisa metabolisme yang tidak dibutuhkan lagi di dalam tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur dan morfometri ginjal itik bali (Anas sp.) dengan jenis kelamin berbeda pada fase pertumbuhan/ grower. Penelitian menggunakan 32 ekor itik bali yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok jenis kelamin masing-masing 16 ekor (umur 2-3 bulan). Hasil data struktur dianalisis dengan deskriptif kualitatif,sedangkan data morfometri digunakan uji Independent sample T-test dengan program SPSS. Hasil pengukuran ginjal itik bali jantan diperoleh panjang ginjal kanan 7,256 + 0,388 cm, panjang ginjal kiri 7,175 + 0,437 cm, bobot ginjal kanan 3,50 + 0,61 g, bobot ginjal kiri 3,487 + 0,497 g, volume ginjal kanan 0,350 + 0,103 cm3, volume ginjal kiri 0,362 + 0,088 cm3, glomerulus tipe mamalia 34,025 + 2,931 ?m dengan lebar bowman 8,173 + 2,447 ?m, glomerulus tipe reptil 14,777 + 2,300 ?m dengan lebar ruang bowman 6,676 + 1,780 ?m. Hasil pengukuran ginjal itik bali betina diperoleh panjang ginjal kanan 6,812 + 0,263 cm, panjang ginjal kiri 6,781 + 0,299 cm, bobot ginjal kanan 4,012 + 0,464 g, bobot ginjal kiri 3,987 + 0,401 g, volume ginjal kanan 0,418 + 0,116 cm3, volume ginjal kiri 0,393 + 0,106 cm3, glomerulus tipe mamalia 43,443 + 4,686 ?m dengan lebar bowman 9,068 + 3,483 ?m, glomerulus tipe reptil 23,312 + 2,761 ?m dengan lebar ruang 6,390 + 1,995 ?m. Hasil pengujian terhadap panjang bobotginjal dan ginjal menunjukkan berbeda nyata P<0,05, sedangkan volume ginjal tidak berbeda nyata P>0,05. Hasil pengujian terhadap glomerulus tipe mamalia dan glomerulus tipe reptil menunjukkan berbeda nyata P<0,05. Struktur anatomi danhistologi antara ginjal itik bali jantan dan betina adalah sama, sedangkan morfometri anatomi dan histologi ginjal itik bali jantan dengan betina berbeda.
