Abstract

Domestic wastewater treatment plant performance (WWTP) currently refers to stringent wastewater quality standards (Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 68 of 2016) considering potential environmental degradation because of pollutants in the wastewater. This study evaluated the performance of the Regional Domestic WWTP in Cimahi City. Cimahi has 10 WWTPs which were operated by an Anaerobic Baffled Reactor system. Periodic monitoring only measured the wastewater characteristics after treatment with parameters: total suspended solids (TSS), ammonia, chemical oxygen demand(COD), biological oxygen demand(BOD), and oil and grease. Therefore, wastewater characteristics were measured before and after treatment at selected WWTP during peak and non-peak hours, with TSS, ammonia, and COD. Important hydraulic factors were also measured: flow velocity at peak and non-peak hours, hydraulic detention time, and sludge height. Effluent from all WWTPs did not meet the standard. However, WWTPs with detention time >2 days produced parameter concentrations closed to the maximum value. The selected WWTP has a 5.7days detention time with removal efficiency for COD 57.52%, and TSS 42.56%, during peak period and COD 60.19% and TSS 34.84% for a non-peak period, but ammonia concentration did not decrease. Overall, WWTP has not been able to meet quality standards and the quality.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of bottom ash as an adsorbent with and without chemical activation treatment. This study also determines the effect of pH and stirring speed on the efficiency of bottom ash in the adsorption of color and COD. Bottom ash was ground and sieved by 100 mesh sieves and was activated by hydrochloric acid 2%. The experiments were conducted at pH variations of 6, 8, 10; contact time variations of 30, 60, and 90 minutes; and stirring speeds of 30 and 60 rpm. The most effective adsorption by non-activated adsorbents occurred at the combination of pH six and stirring speed of 60 rpm with the removal efficiency for color 66.30% at a contact time of 90 minutes and for COD 31.55% at a contact time of 30 minutes. While for activated adsorbent, the highest removal for color (77.44%) and COD removal (40.54%) were at pH 6, stirring speed 30 rpm, contact time 30 minutes. The bottom ash was potentially used as an adsorbent for treating wastewater containing high concentrations of color and COD.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pesantren Bayt Al-Quds merupakan kompleks pesantren yang dekat dengan sumber mata air yang digunakan sebagai kebutuhan air bersih. Komplek terletak di kaki bukit, namun mata air berada di lembah sehingga untuk mendapatkan suplai air bersih diperlukan sistem yang dapat mengalirkan air dari mata air ke reservoir di kompleks. Sistem pompa dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Dalam merencanakan sistem pompa, tahapan yang dilalui meliputi survey lapangan, mengidentifikasi masalah, studi literatur, mengumpulkan data, menganalisa data, merancang sistem mekanis tandon air bersih, perbaikan sistem pompa eksisting, dan dokumentasi hasil. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil survei dan pengukuran secara langsung, sedangkan data sekunder bersumber dari data warga sekitar dan pengurus pondok pesantren Bayt al-Quds serta data penelitian sebelumnya. Kebutuhan debit per hari di kompleks pesantren sebesar 10.165 L/hari dengan debit ketersediaan air sebesar 17.928 L/hari. Kompleks pesantren ini akan menggunakan bangunan penangkap dan penampung mata air dengan kapasitas 10 m3 (2 buah) yang kemudian ditransmisikan ke 2 posisi reservoir. Pompa diperlukan untuk memindahkan air dari penampung ke reservoir menggunakan pompa 1, dengan head 47,10 m, dan pompa 2, dengan head 23,26 m, dan pompa 3 yang hanya digunakan jika ada kerusakan atau sedang dilakukan perawatan. Kata Kunci: Mata air, Pengumpul, Penampung, Pompa. ABSTRACT The Bayt Al-Quds Islamic Boarding School complex is located near water spring that were used for clean water supply. The complex is located at the hillside and the spring is at the valley, therefore it will requires a system that can deliver water from the spring to the reservoir at the complex. A pump system can be used to accommodate the problem. Pump system designing includes field survey, problems identifying, research references, data collecting, data analyzing, reservoir mechanical system design, existing pump repairing, and documentation. Primary data is obtained from survey results and measurements directly, while secondary data is sourced from data from local residents and Bayt al-Quds boarding school administrators as well as data from previous research. The need for discharge per day in the complex amounted to 10,165 L/day with a water availability discharge of 17,928 L/day. This complex will use 2 tubs of spring reservoirs for different purposes, with a capacity of 10 m3 (2 apparatus). of spring reservoirs is 20,000 liters. A pump is needed to move water from the reservoir to the tubs using pump 1st, with a head of 47.10 m, pump 2nd, with a head of 23.26 m, and pump 3rd, which is only used if there is damage or maintenance is being done. Keywords: Spring Water, broncapture, reservoir, pump.

Abstract

Babakan Water treatment plant evaluation aims to meet the community needs for drinking water in Babakan, Tangerang Subdistrict. To meet the needs for drinking water, Perumdam Tirta Raharja in the Tangerang district has a water treatment plant with volumetric flow rate 80 L/second with the raw water source being the Cisadane River. This study refers to the design criteria based on the literature and evaluation of existing water treatment installations based on secondary data. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of the Babakan WTP in terms of quality from the comparison of the test results of raw water sources and distribution with the applicable quality standards and quantity from the calculation of the discharge and the dimensions of the treatment unit. In the Babakan WTP PDAM TKR, optimization can be done by changing the flocculation unit value of detention time from 0.42 minutes to 15 minutes, and the value of the Relative Capacity of the Tube (C) from being changed from 72 m3 to 468.3 m3 so that the gradient value speed to 60 s -1. Solution of sedimentation unit is the design parameter that is not suitable is the surface loading rate less than the design criteria 60 m3/m2. days, to increase the value of the surface loading rate can be done to reduce the surface area of the tub. Settler velocities bigger than the design criteria may cause grinding of the settler surface and cause the flow to become turbulent. The solution for the filtration unit changed the dimensions by increasing the width of the filtration tank twice to 3 m.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Dimensi saluran air buangan dipengaruhi oleh timbulan air buangan yang dialirkan dalam saluran yang berkaitan dengan besaran konsumsi air bersih. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi dimensi saluran air buangan komunal di Kampung Tegal Kawung RT 5 RW 8 Cipageran Kota Cimahi melalui metode survei dengan pembagian kuesioner sebagai sumber besaran konsumsi air bersih, melakukan pengukuran seperti kedalaman dan diameter saluran, perhitungan timbulan air buangan, serta analisis dimensi saluran air buangan menggunakan nomograph. Diketahui melalui penelitian bahwa ukuran diameter saluran air buangan komunal yang melayani 37 KK memiliki besaran konsumsi air 134,33 liter/orang/hari dengan timbulan air buangan sebesar 11,39 liter/detik, cukup dengan menggunakan pipa 4 inci. Ketidaksesuaian kebutuhan diameter saluran air buangan dapat mempengaruhi efektivitas dan efisiensi seperti biaya pembelian pipa, upah pekerja, kedalaman galian termasuk pembiayaannya seperti biaya penggalian serta buangan tanah, dan kemampuan saluran menyalurkan air buangan yang dipengaruhi nilai d/D yang hanya memiliki nilai sebesar 0,09. Kata Kunci: dimensi saluran air buangan, sistem komunal, nomograph

Abstract

Kecamatan Bandung Kidul merupakan bagian dari cakupan pelayanan PDAM Tirtawening, dengan jumlah penduduk pada tahun 2022 sebanyak 61.250 jiwa, luas wilayah 616.895 Ha, dan terbagi menjadi 4 kelurahan . Berdasarkan data PDAM Tirtawening Kota Bandung Tahun 2018, Kecamatan Bandung Kidul merupakan salah satu kawasan rawan air sepanjang tahunnya maka diperlukan perencanaan Instalasi Pengolahan Air (IPA) di Kecamatan Bandung Kidul dengan periode perencanaan 20 tahun (2023-2043). Data yang dibutuhkan berupa data penduduk Kecamatan Bandung Kidul, kriteria desain IPA, prasyarat kualitas air minum. Metode pemilihan alternatif IPA menggunakan metode Weighted Ranked Technique (WRT),setiap alternatif dibandingkan dengan aspek teknis dan non teknis. Pada hasil perencanaan ini unit pengolahan yang terpilih yaitu intake, koagulasi, flokulasi, sedimentasi, filtrasi, aerasi, dan desinfeksi. Hasil proyeksi penduduk pada tahun 2043 dengan metode geometri sebanyak 65.474 jiwa,proyeksi debit kebutuhan air total 165 l/dt, dan proyeksi debit kebutuhan air maksimum 113,67 l/dt.

Hospital X has an WWTP which since its inception until now has never been evaluated and there is a recycling tub that cannot function normally and there is a calculation error in the water mass balance to minimize the impact of wastewater on environmental pollution, so an evaluation of the WWTP unit is carried out. The purpose of this study is to evaluate WWTP and provide suggestions related to optimizing wastewater treatment at X Hospital to improve wastewater removal performance. This study refers to design criteria and quality standards based on literature and evaluation of existing conditions using secondary data and primary data. Based on the evaluation results of the WWTP, it was found that the wastewater discharge was 166.3 m3/day, has an efficiency that is included in the category of very efficient and efficient in processing wastewater pollutant parameters so that the wastewater treatment process runs well, and there is equalization, the first and second settling tanks, activated sludge, trickling filter, filtration, disinfection and recycling did not meet the design criteria so a recalculation was carried out. The solution provided is to tighten monitoring and testing of the condition of the quality of wastewater coming out of the WWTP unit by changing the sampling test method, re-measuring the quality of influent wastewater, improving the workings of the IPAL unit according to the applicable Standart Operation Procedure (SOPs).

Abstract

The domestic wastewater in Cihideung and Tawang Subdistricts as central business district (CBD) areas in Tasikmalaya City is only served by an on-site domestic wastewater management system or Sistem Pengelolaan Air Limbah Domestik Setempat (SPALD-S) which could deteriorate the environment. This study aims to determine the most appropriate type, strategy, and development direction of SPALD based on the existing local conditions for the next 20 years in CBD areas in big cities such as Tasikmalaya. The two methods were used: the multicriteria decision analysis method which refers to the Regulation of the Minister of PUPR Number 04 of 2017, and the Quantitative SWOT analysis method refers to the Guidelines for Preparing a Wastewater Management System Plan. The results of the analysis show that integrated SPALD (SPALD-T) must be implemented aggressively in the two sub-districts based on the key parameters of the existing SPALD conditions, potential for soil contamination, potential danger to air receiving bodies, socio-economic characteristics of the community, public health conditions, education level, financial capability, and the availability of regulations regarding SPALD. The SPALD-T development is suggested to be carried out in stages by determining priority zones for every five years of the planning period.

Abstract

Salah satu komponen penting pada pengelolaan sampah adalah pengumpulan dan pengangkutan sampah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi sistem pengumpulan dan pengangkutan sampah di Kabupaten Subang, tepatnya di tiga TPS Kecamatan Subang yaitu TPS Pasar Pujasera, TPS Jalitri, dan TPS Pasar Terminal. Metode evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi sumber dan timbulan sampah, daerah cakupan pelayanan, jumlah alat serta jenis armada sampah di Kecamatan Subang. Dari hasil analisis jumlah timbulan sampah di Kecamatan Subang yang dihasilkan semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya dan pada tahun 2021 menjadi 33.597.684,98 kg/tahun dengan jumlah penduduk sebanyak 139.046 jiwa. Adapun produksi timbulan sampah yang dihasilkan tidak terangkut di 3 TPS ke TPA Jalupang yaitu sebesar 24.800 kg/hari. Pengumpulan dan pengangkutan sampah di Kecamatan Subang juga tidak dilakukan berdasarkan jenis sampah terpilah karena pada saat pewadahan dan pengumpulan sampah belum dilakukan pemilahan sampah sesuai dengan jenis sampah yang ada. Jumlah armada pengangkut sampah di Kecamatan Subang saat ini terdiri dari 14 unit diantaranya 6 unit dump truk dan 8 unit arm roll truk yang dapat mengangkut sekitar 32.400 kg/hari dan rata-rata ritasi 1 rit/hari. Sedangkan produksi  timbulan sampah yang dihasilkan per hari di 3 TPS sebesar 80.419 kg/hari
