Abstract

This study aims to look at the effect of pictorial glossaries on the creative thinking abilities of class X students, SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan on the subject of the Plant World. This type of research was quasi-experimental research. The study population was all high school grade X students as a hypothetical population. The research sample consisted of 67 people consisting of 33 students in class X MIPA 1 as a control class and 34 students in class X MIPA 2 as an experimental class. Data collection techniques used observation sheets. The result shows that average score of the creative thinking ability of the control class students obtained a mean of 64 with a moderate category while the experimental class obtained an average of 74 with a high category. This shows the influence of glossary media in the material world of plants in SMAN 1 Teluk Kuantan with a significant level of 0.05. Thus, there is an influence of the use of pictorial glossaries on the creative thinking abilities of the control class students with the experimental class on plant material in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality of life skill based student worksheets (LKPD) of class XI of high school on respiratory system material. The method used in the study was a research and development. The data source of this research was from two science teachers and thirty one students of class XI. The LKPD practicalities data was obtained through questionnaires practicalities of the device which was given to teachers and students.The analysis of the data used descriptive analysis that is to categorize the average score on learning process. Based on the analysis of the data, practicality of LKPD through three assessment data, it showed that the first observation data with anaverage 97,4 % in a good category, the second dataquestionnaire responses of teachers with an average 95 % in a good category, and the third data questionnaire responses of students with an average 91% in a good category. Based on the analysis of the data, the practicality of the student worksheets has an average with the excellent category for all aspects. This shows that life skill based worksheet can be used as a biology learning medium in high material school.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a quality reproductive system Opinion Paper on HOTS-based E-Magazine. This Research & Development (R&D) study adapted the ADDIE model to the product development stage. The Opinion Paper was developed in the Biology Education study program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau until the first trial stage and in SMAN Plus Riau Province in the second trial stage in October 2023-November 2024. The validation was assessed by 4 validators consisting of 2 Biology Education lecturers from University of Riau and 2 Biology teachers from SMAN Plus Riau Province and SMAN 1 Pekanbaru, covering aspects of content, pedagogical, linguistic, and presentation feasibility. The results of the Opinion Manuscript validation obtained very valid criteria (3.79). The results of trial I obtained very good criteria (3.92) and the results of trial II obtained very good criteria (3.96). Overall, the average score of validation, trial I and trial II obtained an average score of 3.89 with very good criteria. The results of this  study indicate that the reproductive system Opinion Paper on HOTS-based E-Magazine that has been developed has the potential to improve HOTS and can be used as an alternative learning resource in Biology learning in grade XI SMA.
