Abstract

ABSTRACTThe paper entitled Ice Breaking Activities in Teaching English to Junior High School Students” was purposed to describe the process of ice breaking activities and the suitability of the ice breaking activities with the principles applied in teaching English. This research was conducted at SMPN 18 Kota Bogor by using descriptive qualitative research. The participant of this reasearch was one of English teachers of that school. The finding of this research described the process of ice breaking activities in teaching English and the suitability of the ice breaking activities with the principles. The ice breaking activities used were Tongue-twister, English Game, and English Song”. The ice breaking activity was started by dividing the students into several groups, telling the name of the activity, giving some explanations about what they had to do, and finally starting the ice breaking by choosing one member from several groups to repeat the sentence. The result showed that the ice breaking activities were usually started by telling the name of the activities, giving some explanations about what they are going to do, doing simulation and finally starting the ice breaking activities about five to twenty minutes. Furthermore, the process of ice breaking activities are mostly appropriate with the principles. The role of the teacher as the facilitator, the instruction given which is easy to understand, the suitability of the students level with the ice breaking activities, the time limit used, the atmosphere of the class, and the students interest toward lesson.Keywords: Ice Breaking activities, English Teaching

Abstract

Writing is one of the language skills that should be mastered by students. However, the skill is not easy to be grasped since students are not only demanded to generate ideas, but they also should understand how the written language constructed by using appropriate words, tenses, and the construction of the text itself. Thus, the teacher should facilitate students to develop their writing ability. Form-Focused Instruction (FFI) was chosen as an approach that can be applied on teaching writing. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of Form-Focused Instruction (FFI) on students ability to write a biographical recount text. The population of this research was tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Kabupaten Tangerang. 36 students of class X MIA 2 were the sample used in this research by using random sampling technique. Pre-experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design was applied in conducting this research. The instrument of this research was writing test which was given to measure students writing ability. The data were gained from the pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. From the calculation, it was found that the t-test value is 14.84 when was higher than the t-table value (2.03). Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Form-Focused Instruction (FFI) affected students ability to write a biographical recount text.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the process of getting the main purpose of the text during reading. Students not only can read the whole passage but also comprehend and understand what the important point of the text is. However, the difficulty of comprehending text during reading is a problem for students. Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique is the solution to solve the problem. The aim of this research is to investigate the use of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique on students reading comprehension. In conducting this research, the writer applied pre-experimental method and one group pretest and posttest design. This research is conducted to the first semester students of English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University. There were 20 students as the sample of this research by using random sampling. The result shows that based on t-table, the degree of freedom of 19 at significant level of 0.05 is 2.09. However, the value of t-test is 3.89. From the comparison between the value of t-test and the t-table, it can be concluded that the value of t-test is higher than t-table (3.89 more than 2.09). Thus, the alternative hypotheses of this research (Ha) is accepted.  Therefore, CIRC technique affects students reading comprehension..

Abstract

Writing is one of the language skills that should be mastered by the students. According to pre research observation, they still got some difficulties when they were asked to write English text. Developing ideas is one of their difficulties in writing. Hence, an appropriate technique is required to help students overcome this problem. This study is conducted to find out the effect of using mind mapping technique on students‟ ability to write a recount text. Pre Experimental method and One Group pretest-posttest design are used in this study. First grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Cigombong are chosen as the sample. They are 32 students, all in one class. Purposive sampling technique is used to choose the sample. The data are collected through pre-test and post-test in the form of writing test. Then, t-test is used to analyze the data. The result of analysis shows that the value of t -test is 23.29 and the value of t-table at  0.05 level of significance is 2.04. This indicates that the value of t - calculated  is  higher  than  t-table,  hence  null  hypothesis  is  rejected  and  alternative  hypothesis  is accepted. Thus, it is concluded that there is an effect of using mind mapping technique on students‟ ability to write a recount text. Keywords: Writing ability, Recount text, Mind mapping technique.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Gaya Kepemimpinan Ketua Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah (K3S) di Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Gaya Kepemimpinan Demokratis Ketua Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya penyajian data menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan di Kantor Ketua K3S, dengan melakukan wawancara kepada empat Kepala Sekolah SD di Kecamatan Jatitujuh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan yang dilakukan oleh Ketua Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah (K3S) di Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka dengan indikator keputusan dibuat bersama, menghargai potensi bawahan, mendengarkan kritik, saran dan pendapat dari pegawai, dan melakukan kerjasama dengan bawahannya. Dapat dikategorikan bahwa Ketua Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah (K3S) di Kecamatan Jatitujuh Kabupaten Majalengka menggunakana gaya kepemimpinan Demokratis.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk: menganalisis pengaruh Customer experience terhadap kepuasan pelanggan pada UD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran secara mendetail latar belakang, sifat-sifat dan karakter yang khas dari kasus maupun status dari individu yang kemudian hasilnya dijadikan suatu hal yang bersifat umum. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode survey. Survey yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan UD. Anwaruddin dan APMS Anwaruddin dengan cara pemberian butir-butir pernyataan yang dituangkan dalam sebuah kuisioner dan nantinya akan diisi oleh karyawan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Customer experience berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan, Kepusan pelanggan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan, Customer experience berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan, dan Customer experience secara tidak langsung berpengaruh terhadap loyalitas pelanggan melalui kepuasan pelanggan UD. Abstract

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lingkungan kerja, komitmen pegawai dan pengembangan karier secara parsial dan simultan terhadap kinerja pegawai Unit Penyelenggara Bandar Udara Kelas I Mopah Merauke. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian asosiatif, yakni pendekatan dengan menggunakan dua atau lebih variabel guna mengetahui hubungan atau pengaruh yang satu dengan yang lain. Penelitian ini memiliki dua variabel yaitu, variabel independen/variabel yang mempengaruhi dan variabel dependen/variabel yang dipengaruhi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dan membuktikan pengaruh pengaruh lingkungan kerja, komitmen pegawai dan pengembangan karier secara parsial dan simultan terhadap kinerja pegawai Unit Penyelenggara Bandar Udara Kelas I Mopah Merauke. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah berjumlah 107 pegawai. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian diambil sebesar 40% dari populasi yaitu 71 pegawai. Teknik penarikan sampel digunakan teknik probability sampling dengan metode dispropotionate Stratified Random Sampling. Temuan membuktikan bahwa 1). Secara parsial variabel Lingkungan kerja (X1), Komitmen pegawai (X2) dan Pengembangan karir (X3) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Bandar Udara Kelas I Mopah Merauke. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien regresi sebesar 0,172 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,011 untuk variabel lingkungan kerja, Komitmen pegawai (X2) dibuktikan dengan koefisien regresi sebesar sebesar 0,349 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000., dan Pengembangan karir (X3) ditunjukkan dengan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,035 dengan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0.013. 2). Lingkungan kerja, komitmen pegawai, dan pengembangan karir berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara simultan terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Kantor Unit Penyelenggara Bandar Udara Kelas I Mopah Merauke. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan nilai statitik uji-F sebesar 29,419 dan tingkat signifikansi sebesar 0,000, dan 3). Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of cash management training on mitigating financial distress among microenterprises, particularly in developing economies. It explores how internal capabilities and external factors influence the effectiveness of cash management practices and contribute to the financial resilience and sustainability of microenterprises. Research Design and Methodology: A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted, analyzing recent academic articles, peer-reviewed journals, and scholarly publications on cash management, financial distress, and microenterprise sustainability. The research synthesized findings across various contexts to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Findings and Discussion: The study found that cash management training significantly enhances the financial resilience of microenterprises by equipping owners with essential skills for managing cash flows. The effectiveness of these practices is influenced by external factors such as supportive government policies and access to financial services. The research highlights the importance of adaptability in cash management, particularly in volatile economic conditions, and underscores the role of both internal and external factors in sustaining microenterprises. Implications: The findings suggest that policymakers and financial institutions should focus on creating an enabling environment that supports microenterprises through targeted training and financial inclusion initiatives. The study also provides practical insights for microenterprise owners to continuously adapt their cash management strategies, ensuring long-term business sustainability.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the role of appropriate technology in sustainable development, focusing on its economic, environmental, and social dimensions. The purpose is to examine how appropriate technology can be effectively integrated into sustainable development design. Research Design and Methodology: A qualitative methodology was used, involving an extensive literature review of recent studies on appropriate technology. The research categorized findings into economic viability, environmental sustainability, and social inclusivity, and conducted a thematic analysis to synthesize these dimensions. Findings and Discussion: Findings reveal that appropriate technology offers significant economic benefits by reducing costs and fostering local entrepreneurship, enhances environmental sustainability through renewable resources and waste reduction, and promotes social inclusivity by engaging communities in the design process. The discussion highlights that appropriate technology can drive sustainable development by providing affordable, environmentally friendly, and socially equitable solutions. Implications: Implications suggest that successful integration requires innovative financing, supportive policies, and community engagement. This research provides a comprehensive framework for advancing the application of appropriate technology in sustainable development, offering insights for policymakers and practitioners

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to empirically examine the impact of E-Filing and E-Billing on individual taxpayer compliance at the Jayapura Primary Tax Service Office in Indonesia. The study hypothesizes that both E-Filing and E-Billing positively and significantly influence taxpayer compliance by simplifying tax reporting and payment processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing accessibility. Research Design and Methodology: This study adopts a descriptive quantitative approach and utilizes primary data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 100 individual taxpayers registered at the Jayapura Primary Tax Service Office. The research employs multiple linear regression analysis, including descriptive statistical analysis, validity and reliability tests, normality tests, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests, and hypothesis testing using the coefficient of determination and partial tests (t-test). The study controls external factors influencing taxpayer compliance, ensuring that the observed relationships between E-Filing, E-Billing, and taxpayer compliance remain valid and reliable. Findings and Discussion: The empirical results indicate that E-Filing and E-Billing significantly and positively affect taxpayer compliance. The findings suggest that E-Filing facilitates a more efficient and transparent tax reporting process, reducing administrative burdens and encouraging taxpayers to fulfill their obligations on time. Similarly, E-Billing enhances compliance by offering a more accessible and user-friendly payment system, allowing taxpayers to meet their tax obligations seamlessly. These results align with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), which explain how perceived usefulness and ease of use influence individuals’ adoption of digital tax services. Implications: The findings provide valuable insights into tax authorities, policymakers, and financial regulators regarding the importance of digital tax administration systems in improving taxpayer compliance. Future research should explore additional factors influencing compliance, such as tax knowledge, penalties, and incentives, and conduct comparative studies across different regions to provide a broader understanding of the effectiveness of digital tax services.
