Abstract

The independence of learning is the process of moving the power of the individual who learns to move his or her potential in the study without any pressure or foreign influence from outside. External factors affecting the child's independence is a culture and parenting on children. In fact school students are passive in learning and students are not capable of doing their own tasks assigned by the teacher, because the parents do not give proper treatment to the children, especially in revision at home. This research aims to see how the relationship with self treatment of parents with student independence  in learning in SMA N 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok District. This research uses quantitative methods to the type of correlation. The research population was students of class XI and XII SMA N 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok District.

Abstract

This research isbackground by low ofstudents’ communication interpersonal. Self confidence and emotional intelligence were two factors assumed to affect communication interpersonal. The aims of this research were  to describethe contribution of the self confidence and emotional intelligencetowards communication interpersonal. This research applied quantitative method with a descriptive correlational. The population was all thestudents of SMA Negeri 8 Padang with the total of 764 students, and the samples were 263 students that were chosen by using proportional stratified random sampling.The instrument of the research was a likert scale. Validity test result of this self confidence’s instrument was 0.503, students’ emotional intelligence was 0.430, and communication interpersonal was 0.675. Reliability test result of self confidence’s instrument was 0.819, emotional intelligence was 0.888, and communication interpersonal was 0.902. The data  were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, simple and multiple regression. The research findings indicated that: (1) averagely, description of the self confidence was at high level, (2) emotional intelligence was at high level, (3)communication interpersonal was categorized at high level, (4) there was 19,6% (R=0.443, on significance 0.000) in self confidence contribution towards  communication interpersonal, (5) there was 33,1% (R=0.575, significance 0.000) in emotional intelligence towards communication interpersonal, (6) there was 33,2% (R=0.576, on significance 0.000) in contribution together with self confidence and emotional intelligence towards communication interpersonal. The implication of this research can be made as a need assessment to make a program of guidance and counseling service in SMA Negeri 8 Padang.

Abstract

Parents greatly contribute to helping the child's personality, especially in the reception children. Guiding children to treat them well, so that self-acceptance to the child being good. Phenomena that occur in the field are still many parents who guide their children in the form of unfavorable treatment so that the child becomes low self-acceptance. The purpose of this study was to describe the treatment of parent and student self-acceptance and to see the relationship between parental treatment with self-acceptance. This research is a descriptive correlational, The research found that: good treatment of parents classified, categorized as either self-acceptance, there is a significant relationship between parental treatment with self-acceptance of students.

Abstract

Improving The Ability to Expression Idea Through Group Counselling Services. This research aimed to reveal the ability improvement in expression idea through group counselling services. There are two groups of students at grade X of SMA N 3 Padangsidimpuan that were choosen by using purposive sampling. Each group consist of ten students. The research finding shows that generally the group counselling services is effective to improve the ability in expression idea.

Abstract

This research was conducted as there was a difference between learning achievement of the students in regular class and in training class. Learning motivation, learning skill quality and self regulated learning are factors assumed to affect the students’ learning achievement. This research was intended to: (1) reveal the difference between learning motivation of the students in regular class and in training class, (2) the difference between learning skill quality of the students in regular class and in training class, and (3) self regulated learning of the students in regular class and in training class.This research applied descriptive comparative method. The population of the research was 312 students in class XI of SMA N 5 Padang. By using purposive sampling technique and simple random sampling technique, 65 students were chosen as the sample. The instrument of the research were learning motivation questionnaire (the reliability was 0.950), self regulated learning questionnaire (the reliability was 0.817), and AUM PTSDL Format SLTA (the reliability was 0.76). The data gathered then were analyzed by using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA).The research findings indicated that: (1) learning motivation of the students both in training class and in regular class at SMA N 5 Padang was in high category, (2) in which significant difference learning motivation of the students in regular class was higher than that of students in training class, (3) the quality of students' learning skills training classes as very bad and regular classroom students classified as not good at SMA N 5 Padang, (4) there was a significant difference between learning skill quality of the students in regular class and in training class in which learning skill quality of the regular class was higher than that of the students in training class, and (5) students self regulated learning training class and regular class in high at SMA N 5 Padang is category good, (6) there were no significant differences in which self regulated learning training class students together with students regular class, (7) there are significant differences between the motivation to learn, the quality of learning skills, and self regulated learning training class students and students' regular classroom.

Abstract

the social relationship ability can be defined as a person capability to speak (communication ability), to express his or her feeling or problems faced and to figure out the solution adaptively. This research was designed for describing the students’ ability to build social relationship viewed from sex and cultural background. This was a descriptive comparative research which applied quantitative approach. This research was conducted to the students at SMAN 01, SMAN 05, and SMAN 07 Kab. Mukomuko. The number of the population was 442 student. By using purposive sampling technique, 210 of them were taken as the sample. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire of Likert scale whose reliability was 0,958. The result of the research indicated that: 1) the ability of both male and female students in building social relationship was high, 2) the ability of the students having both majority and minority cultural background in building social relationship was high, 3) there was a significant difference between the in building social relationship of the male and the female students, 4) there was a significant difference between the in building social relationship of the students having majority and minority cultural background.

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan Islam di Minangkabau  pada awal abad 20 yaitu surau, masih tradisional dan sangat sederhana sekali dilaksanakan secara informal dalam rangka dakwah Islam. Pendidikan dimulai dengan mempelajari abjad huruf Arab  dan bacanan kitab suci al-Qur’an. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengajian kitab-kitab lain, seperti kitab fiqh, Nahu, Sharaf, dan tasauf. Ilmu pengetahuan umum sama sekali belum diajarkan di lembaga pendidikan ini. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, maka kaum mudo Minangkabau melakukan pembaharuan terhadap Pendidikan Islam. Usaha ini tidak terlepas dari konsep manusia sebagai khalifah di muka bumi yang bertugas mengatur dan menjalani kehidupan secara baik. Menjalani kehidupan secara baik tentunya manusia secara umum dan murid di madrasah/ sekolah secara khusus membutuhkan arahan dalam mewujudkan dirinya untuk melaksanakan tugas-tugas sebagai khalifah tersebut.  Pelayanan bimbingan konseling di madrasah/ sekolah memegang peranan dalam membantu siswa agar dapat mengenal dan menerima diri sendiri, mengenal dan menerima lingkungan secara positif dan dinamis, serta mampu mengambil keputusan, mengarahkan dan mewujudkan diri sendiri secara efektif dan produktif sesuai dengan peran yang diinginkanya di masa depan. Usaha pembaharuan pendidikan tentunya akan berhasil lebih baik jika dalam pelaksanaannya mengacu pada konsep pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana bentuk pembaharuan pendidikan yang dilakukan Kaum Mudo Minangkabau serta implikasinya terhadap pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling. Pemilihan permasalah ini sebagai kajian penelitian karena pembaharuan yang dilaksanakan Kaum Mudo Minangkabau ini merupakan awal kebangkitan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia dan nuansa madrasah yang dikembangkan dalam gerakan pembaharuan ini menjadi corak terhadap kemanjuan pendidikan nasional di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah, dengan menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembaharuan pendidikan Islam di Minangkabau dilakukan secara bertahap dengan mengacu kepada pembaharuan terhadap lembaga, metode dan materi pendidikan yang dilaksanakan. Usaha pembaharuan belum menunjukan hasil yang memuaskan untuk madrasah sekarang ini meskipun sudah digalakan sejak lama. Konsep pelayanan bimbingan konseling belum tersentuh dalam usaha pembaharuan ini. Tentunya ke depan pelayanan bimbingan konseling lebih diperkuat untuk mencapai madrasah yang lebih baik dan bermutu.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi berbeda dengan jenjang pendidikan sebelumnya sehingga mahasiswa baru perlu melakukan penyesuaian. Kenyataannya ditemukan mahasiswa yang tidak serius dalam proses perkuliahan, seperti datang terlambat, dan tidak membuat tugas sesuai petunjuk. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa BK FIP UNP angkatan 2011 yang terdaftar semester Januari-Juni 2013, berjumlah 196 orang. Jumlah sampel 132 orang dengan teknik Proportional Random Sampling. Instrumen digunakan adalah angket, diolah dengan teknik analisis persentase. Kata Kunci: proses pembelajaran, mahasiswa.

Abstract

The implementation of Group Guidance Services to Prepare The Mental of The Students in Facing National Examination. This study generarally aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services in increasing student’s mental readiness in facing the National Examination. Two groups were selected by using selected purposive sampling these groups will be used as the experimental group and the control group. Each group consisted of 8 students. The research finding shows that there are difference of student’s mental readiness in facing the National Examination before and after participating in group guidance activities. In general there is group guidance services effective in increasing student’s mental readiness in facing the National Examination

Abstract

There are some factors that become constraints of successful learning for students in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir namely; lack of spirit in learning, lack of concentration span, high frequency in asking permission, or unreturn after asking permission as well as unfulfilled the assignment. In short, the factors are estuaried to students’ low motivation issue. Learning motivation can be effected by stundents’ aspiration and parents’ support. This study is aimed at obtaining empirical data related to: students’ aspiration in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir, parents’ support in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir, learning motivation, correlation of students’ aspiration and parents’ support with learning motivation in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir. This study  belongs to descriptive and correlational research. Descriptive analysis and linear reggretion analysis are used in analyzing the data. The result of the study shows that students’ aspiration in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir  is classified medium, parents’ support in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir is classifed high, students’ learning motivation in SMA Negeri 1 Singingi Hilir is classified medium, students’ aspiration and parents’ support give significant correlation with learning motivation. It is higly suggested that counsellor created Guidance and Councelling program related to students’ aspiration in  career information services and career oriented services, parents’ support in form of home visit and regular parents’ school visit, learning motivation in form of learning information center, content mastery services and personal guindance and councelling  services, next prospective researchers that it is expected to conduct more advance and comprehensive reseach by using other variables that influence learning motivation.
