Abstract

Workload is crucial in managing and maintaining good performance of human resources and allocations. In an advanced manufacturing industry, human job functions had shifted to cognitive tasks. Thus, cognitive workload evaluation should be used to monitor worker’s workload in optimal condition. Most common tool of cognitive workload tools are perceived measurement, like NASA – TLX questionnaire. Despite of its sensitivity to capture workload felt by the workers, this subjective measurement was prone to bias. Objective measurement utilizing biometrics data of the human body during working state was useful to eliminate bias. Cardiac biometrics were one of the many that were closely related to mental activity changes. The objective of this study was to understand the relationship of cardiac biometrics to perceived workload as an indicator of cognitive workload analysis. The study utilized four biometrics, heart rate, HRV low frequency power, total frequency power and ratio of low and high frequency power, were used to analyzed a one hour long cognitive based study case. The study case was designed in a manufacturing planning context referring to manufacturing aptitude tests, to induce cognition process on 30 participants. The biometrics and NASA – TLX score result of all the participants, were then calculated as effect size standardization before input into random forest regressor model to analyze relationship between cardiac biometrics and perceived workload. The result found a moderate relationship between the two (r2 = 0.576). Features importance also showed the most impactful feature to the model is the effect size of frequency power ratio. However, it is recommended to always consider evaluating multiple cardiac biometrics in workload analysis to ensure good model performance.

Abstract

Fatigue experienced by most of the public transport drivers cause a decrease in the level of vigilance while driving . The demands of the company or demands to be able to make ends meet cause most of the public bus drivers keep working even in conditions of fatigue so that the condition often causes accidents . To determine the level of awareness of the driver while driving is done by spreading the data collection questionnaire and use vigilance test software . Data obtained by using software vigilance test is Average Reaction Time ( ART ) . The data is then analyzed to see regression correlation relation to the number of variables which are , long drive , long breaks and the number of breaks . From the analysis it was concluded that the ART is directly proportional to the length of time driving or driving , but inversely proportional to the length and number of rest breaks , where the longer breaks and more breaks then the value of ART will be smaller .

Abstract

IKM genteng Talangsuko is a roof tile producers that was founded in 1980. They can produce 300-350 roof tile in each day. However, the accumulation of material happens frequently due to the limited capacity of drying space. This problem causes the production process to be obstructed, so they need an equipment that can increase the production capacity of the roof tile. Accordingly, the purpose of this research are to determine the design and spesification of the equipment and to determine whether the equipment could increase the production capacity of roof tile. This rearch proposes design of the equipment using the AHOQ method. The result of this research is the specification of the equipment that consist of three components which are rack body, wheels, and the last part is slope arranger for each level of rack. The design of material handling equipment is in the form of multilevel racks with wheels. This equipment may increase the production capacity of roof tile in IKM Genteng Talangsuko especially for the drying process to 2 times from 300-350 to ± 750 roof tiles.
