Abstract

This study aims to analyze the supply of cooking oil at Bulog North Sulawesi Regional Division. This research was conducted from May to June 2023. The data used in this research is secondary data. Secondary data is data that has been arranged in written form obtained from the company directly. The data is then processed and calculated using the EOQ method. The results of this study indicate that the procurement of cooking oil at Bulog North Sulawesi Regional Division is not optimal. The frequency of cooking oil procurement carried out by Bulog North Sulawesi Regional Division during 2023 was 28 times, while the results of calculations using EOQ obtained an order frequency of 6 times a year. This means that when using EOQ calculations can minimize ordering costs. The EOQ calculation also obtained the maximum amount that can be managed.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to find the relationship between the agricultural sector and the prevalence of stunting. This study will look at how much the agricultural sector contributes to reducing cases of stunting in children in several districts in North Sulawesi. Whether or not the agricultural sector has an effect on reducing the prevalence of stunting is still a question in this study. In addition, this research is also related to the second priority of food, nutrition, and stunting prevention which is part of UNSRAT's Strategic Plan. The results of this study are also expected to contribute to policies taken by local governments in overcoming food security problems, especially in handling cases of stunting in children through the agricultural sector. The data collected during 2018-2023 will be analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26 software program and will be estimated using a multiple regression model using two stage least square. The data will be collected from relevant institutions such as BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics) and RISKESDAS (Basic Health Research). The resulting model will be used to describe the most appropriate policy for the current situation in North Sulawesi. The results obtained that food insufficiency affects stunting prevalence are the number of poor people and average rice production. This shows the role of the agricultural sector in fulfilling food needs, thus indirectly contributing to stunting prevalence.

Abstract

Increases in food prices affect poverty in a way that poor consumer is harmed due to the high proportion of their budget they spent on food. Stunting prevalence might be instigated by several factors such as access to food and nutrition intake, genetic and environment. This research aims to analyse the effect of food import tariffs towards the stunting prevalence of children aged under 5 (five) across districts in Indonesia, and we explore the indirect relationship between stunting prevalence and trade policy. This research uses quantitative descriptive research methods, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires, followed by Focus Group. Secondary data were obtained from relevant institutions such as the Central Statistics Agency, research journals, and related books. The method of data analysis in the study uses quantitative analysis with a mathematical model. The results showed that tariffs can reduce the consumption of foods that serve in the intake of dietary nutrients such as calories, protein and fat. As a result, food intake affects the prevalence of stunting. Trade liberalisation can have a beneficial impact on child health. The effects of trade liberalisation on stunting through the food channel include: a) trade has a significant effect on calorie, protein, and fat intake, b) intake of these nutrients has a significant effect on child stunting.
