Abstract

This study aims to develop a measurement instrument for the implementation of Islamic lifestyle guidelines among Muhammadiyah community members. The research procedure adapts Borg and Gall's development research model. The steps in instrument development include preliminary research, planning, initial product development, limited testing, and expanded testing. Five experts were involved in the development of the initial product, with expertise covering measurement, religious thought, and Muhammadiyah practice. The expert assessment data were analyzed using the Aiken formula. Twenty-five Muhammadiyah leaders in Karanyanyar participated in the limited testing phase, and the data from this phase were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis with SPSS. The expanded testing involved 253 leaders and members of Muhammadiyah in the districts of Karanganyar, Sragen, and Boyolali, selected using the cluster random sampling technique. The data from the expanded testing were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL software. The research resulted in a package of 27 valid and reliable measurement items for the implementation of Islamic lifestyle guidelines among Muhammadiyah members, suitable for further measurement.

Abstract

First-time voters play a crucial role in the electoral process. This year, Indonesia conducted elections to choose members of the DPR, DPRD, President, Vice President, and DPD. In this election, particular attention is given to the participation of first-time voters, with an estimated 52% of young voters predicted to participate. However, the lack of awareness about democracy and low political education among first-time voters could potentially decrease voter turnout in the upcoming 2024 elections. Recognizing the importance of the participation of first-time voters, especially in the forthcoming elections, there is a need for community outreach and education on political participation, particularly targeting Sekaran Village in Wonosari Sub-District, Klaten Regency, which has a total of 64,760 registered voters. This community service initiative aims to enhance the awareness of first-time voters about the significance of political participation. The results of this initiative show an increase in awareness among young people, particularly first-time voters, as evidenced by their enthusiasm for fulfilling their electoral duties.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the construct of Muhammadiyah ideology. This research was categorized as qualitative research with literature review as a method of data collection. The data consisted of the concept and the understanding related to Muhammadiyah ideology, the source of data was books and journals examining Muhammadiyah ideology from the aspect of outlook on life, life guidelines of Muhammadiyah citizens and Muhammadiyah strategies in realizing their ideals of life.  Data analysis techniques used a simplified approach. The results show that the Muhamadiyah Ideology is a set of understandings that contain muhammadiyah views, life guidelines and strategies in realizing his ideals of life.  Muhammadiyah's view of life is reflected in the muqaddimah of Muhammadiyah's articles of association containing views on anchorage, community, views on Islamic teachings, enforcement of Islamic teachings, ittiba' nabi in struggle, views of organization and muhammadiyah ideals. The life guidelines of Muhammadiyah residents discuss self-guidelines in religion, socializing in society, organizing and guidelines for state life. There are several Muhammadiyah strategies in realizing their life ideals pursued by community development related to aqidah, worship and morals, improving the quality of life of the community, fostering Muhammadiyah cadres, strengthening Muhammadiyah associations and appropriate political and state strategies. Furthermore, the ideological construct can be used as a foundation in the development of instruments for measuring the strength of Muhammadiyah ideology.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of reading the Qur'an among the residents of Munggur Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency, through a structured learning assistance program. The primary target of this initiative is the village community, particularly children and teenagers, with sessions conducted from Monday to Saturday after Asr prayer at the Munggur Village Mosque. The results of this program indicate that the Qur'an Reading Assistance Program for the Residents of Munggur Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency, 2025 was successfully implemented. The program's success was supported by active participation from parents, community members, village officials, and local government authorities. Additionally, the involvement of university students in directing the implementation methods significantly contributed to the smooth execution of the activities. However, some challenges were encountered, particularly the low interest of young children in learning to read the Qur'an using the tartil method. Therefore, more innovative strategies are needed to increase their motivation for learning in the future.

Abstract

Publishing scientific articles in reputable international journals such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) poses significant challenges for academics and practitioners in Indonesia. Many of them encounter obstacles in understanding writing standards, selecting appropriate journals, and navigating the peer review process. These limitations have resulted in low acceptance rates for articles in prestigious journals. Therefore, strategic efforts through Community Service Programs (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat or PKM) are necessary to enhance the capacity of academics in writing and publishing scientific articles. The PKM activity aimed to improve the understanding and readiness of academics and practitioners for publication in reputable journals through a scientific article writing workshop. The methodology employed a participatory approach using interactive workshop formats, which included material presentations, writing practice sessions, and direct mentoring. A total of 25 participants engaged in the full-day event. Workshop results demonstrated that most participants experienced a significant increase in understanding regarding scientific article writing structure, strategies for journal selection, and article submission processes. Additionally, participants gained increased confidence in addressing review and revision procedures. The implications of this activity highlight the need for continuous support to ensure academics can effectively apply the knowledge acquired in scientific publications. The recommendation from this Community Service Program is to develop more comprehensive programs with longer durations and more intensive guidance. By doing so, academics and practitioners can continuously improve the quality of their scientific publications, ultimately enhancing academic competitiveness at the global level. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the principal's clinical supervision in improving the performance of Islamic Religious Education teachers at SD Negeri Bakalan Nguntoronadi Wonogiri. Clinical supervision is important to be done by the principal because it is to see the learning process of the teacher in the classroom. To achieve the objectives of this study, a qualitative approach was used with the principal and Islamic religious education teachers as the main informants. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews and documentation as well as the results of relevant literature. Data analysis uses interactive analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and inference. The results showed that, first, by instilling Islamic religious education teachers' understanding of clinical supervision, including basic concepts of clinical supervision, collaboration and shared learning, influence on professional development, and cultural and contextual perspectives. Second, the principal's clinical supervision strategies include: Identifying common needs and goals, classroom observation and feedback, creating a structured monitoring plan, developing lesson plans, periodic monitoring and evaluation, and training and professional development. However, this study found that Islamic religious education teachers do not participate in activities such as workshops, seminars, or other training that support the improvement of teaching skills. This is because the cost is borne by the teacher and there is no financial support from the local education office.

Abstract

Al-Quran merupakan sumber petunjuk dan pedoman hidup bagi umat Islam. Agar seseorang bisa meraih petunjuk Al-Quran, ia harus berinteraksi dengannya secara benar. Setelah mengimani Al-Quran, ia harus belajar membacanya. Menurut data tahun 2020, dari 229 juta jiwa jumlah penduduk Muslim di Indonesia, 65% atau 149 juta jiwa belum bisa membaca Al-Quran. Hal ini menjadi PR bersama umat Islam di negeri ini. Berangkat dari masalah ini, dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang dilakukan oleh team mahasiswa bersama dosen Institut Islam Mambaul Ulum (IIM) Surakarta di Desa Bakalan Kecataman Jumapolo Kabupaten Karanganyar, dirumuskanlah tema berupa pemberantasan buta huruf Al-Quran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan upaya pemberantasan buta huruf Al-Quran yang dilakukan di Desa Bakalan. Kegiatan PKM ini termasuk jenis penelitian lapangan yang dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode observasi. Setelah dilakukan observasi, disusunlah program-program PKM yang menggunakan beberapa metode, seperti ceramah, praktik, permainan, dan tanya jawab. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pemberantasan buta huruf Al-Quran di Desa Bakalan diturunkan dalam tiga program utama, yaitu mengajar TPA, pelatihan manajemen TPA, dan wakaf Al-Quran. Ketiga program ini mendapat respons yang cukup baik dari warga masyarakat maupun pemerintah desa.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the academic achievement of ninth-grade students in Fiqh subject through the implementation of the Card Sort learning method at Al-Islam Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School Pilangbangu Sepat Masaran Sragen. The method used was Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The research subjects were 43 ninth-grade students. The Card Sort method was implemented by grouping students based on categories in Fiqh material, facilitating active discussions, and developing collaborative abilities. The results showed a significant improvement in student achievement, with the class average score increasing from 65.42 in pre-cycle to 75.86 in cycle I and 83.65 in cycle II. The percentage of learning completeness also increased from 27.91% in pre-cycle to 60.47% in cycle I and 83.72% in cycle II. The implications of this research indicate that the Card Sort method not only enhances cognitive aspects but also develops students' learning activities in various dimensions including active participation, group collaboration, categorization abilities, presentation skills, and questioning and answering capabilities. This method also creates a learning environment that engages students in constructing their own knowledge through various learning modalities.

Abstract

This mentoring program aims to improve the skills of Elementary School (SD) and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) teachers in Kacangan Village, Andong District, Boyolali, in developing textbooks based on local wisdom and in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The approach used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Workshop-Based Training, where teachers play an active role in the process of developing teaching materials. This activity includes training, discussion, and intensive assistance to compile and adapt textbooks so that they are more contextualized with student characteristics. The results of this mentoring showed a positive response from the teachers. A total of 61.5% stated that they would “Yes, definitely” implement the results of the workshop, while the other 38.5% answered “Maybe”. This reflects optimism as well as caution in the implementation of the program. This assessment shows that the strategies implemented are considered realistic and workable in daily learning. In addition, this approach also increases teachers' awareness of the importance of integrating local values in education. The implications of this program include improving the quality of learning and strengthening cultural identity in the developed textbooks. To ensure the sustainability of this program, support is needed through collaboration between schools, communities and local governments so that the innovations that have been introduced can continue. Thus, education in Kacangan Village can progress without losing its local cultural roots.
