Abstract

Kata kunci: hs-CRP, Monosit, Tuberkulosis   Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that primarily affects the lungs and is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This pathogen typically targets the human respiratory system. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and monocyte levels can serve as diagnostic indicators to assess inflammation in TB patients. This study examines the relationship between hs-CRP and monocyte levels in tuberculosis patients following treatment. A cross-sectional study design with accidental sampling was employed, involving 15 participants. The mean hs-CRP level was 3.22 mg/L, while the mean monocyte count was 540.80 cells/mm³. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Pearson product-moment correlation test. The Pearson test yielded a significance value of 0.037 and a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.542. The results indicate a statistically significant positive correlation between hs-CRP and monocyte levels in tuberculosis patients after treatment. This suggests a moderate to strong association between inflammatory response and monocyte activity post-therapy. Keywords : hs-CRP, Monocytes, Tuberculosis

Abstract

Abstract

Mikroorganisme penyebab utama infeksi mastitis yaitu Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Mobile phones as a learning tool among students are used during the temporary closure of educational institutions as an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. This requires students to do Study From Home learning, a learning process that is carried out virtually using communication media such as cellphones, laptops, and tablets. This causes the intensity of using cellphones to become more frequent every time and generally ignores hygiene. Overall the level of bacterial contamination of cell phones is 70% with the pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas sp., Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Enterobacter aergene, Escherichia coli, Citrobacter intermedites, and Citrobacter freundii. The purpose of the research was to identify Staphylococcus sp and to know the correlation of Staphylococcus sp. with the personal hygiene level of IIK Bhakti Wiyata Kediri students. The research method is correlation analytic using purposive sampling technique with 16 cell phone swab samples. This research used the culture test on BAP, MSA, NAS and Gram staining as well as a questionnaire to determine the level of personal hygiene. The results of the research identified Staphylococcus aureus by 75% and Staphylococcus epidermidis by 25% and the results of the questionnaire on the level of personal hygiene with a sufficient category of 75%. The conclusion of the research is that there is Staphylococcus sp in cellphone swabs and there is a correlation of the presence of Staphylococcus sp bacteria with the level of personal hygiene in IIK Bhakti Wiyata students.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by a steadily increasing prevalence both globally and nationally. Patients with DM are highly susceptible to various infections, with Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) being one of the most frequent complications. The hyperglycemic state in DM patients leads to glycosuria, a condition where the presence of glucose in the urine creates an ideal environment for the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms. Microbiologically, Gram-negative bacteria are the primary etiology of UTIs in diabetic patients. Bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Proteus mirabilis possess specific virulence factors that facilitate adherence to the urinary tract epithelium. The objective of this research was to identify Gram-negative bacteria and determine their percentage distribution among Diabetes Mellitus patients at Public Health Center X in Kediri. This research employed a descriptive research method with an accidental sampling technique, utilizing 14 urine specimens from DM patients. The results revealed the presence of Klebsiella sp. (36%), Escherichia coli (50%), and Salmonella sp. (14%) in the urine of the subjects. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that urinary tract infections in Diabetes Mellitus patients at Public Health Center X, Kediri, are caused by several types of pathogenic bacteria, with the highest prevalence being Escherichia coli, followed by Klebsiella sp., Salmonella sp., and Proteus sp. Early detection and management of bacterial infections are essential to prevent further complications in patients with Diabetes Mellitus
