Abstract

Reading and writing abilities give the benefit for improving knowledge on integrated English information, where the information is needed to support in this era. It encourages the integration of learning strategies to improve the ability of English literacy. The research has purposed to (1) analyze the effectiveness of learning strategies in the ability of English literacy, (2) analyze the motivational learning influences the student towards English literacy ability, (3) analyze English literacy ability uses GIST strategy and KWL strategy towards learning motivation. The research method used a mix method (quantitative and qualitative) with concurrent embedded research design. The research population was the eight classes of SMPN 1 Lebakwangi. Analyzing the results showed that using GIST strategy was more effective on English literacy than KWL strategy; GIST strategy assisted the students in sorting and selecting vocabularies for classifying the important information so that it could conclude information to facilitate the understanding. The benefit of this research was to support as a reference in the learning of English literacy and to add the insight for improving English literacy ability to integrating GIST strategy and KWL strategy in the learning activity. Moreover, the use of learning strategies promoted students for critical thinking in processing and developing information that was appropriated to them.

Abstract

One of the disadvantages in the process of learning that is conducted by teachers is the lack of effort to increase the effectiveness of PBL-Based High order thinking the skill of students. The purpose of this research is knowing the Learning HOTS-Based in English Learning. The research method that is used in this research is a quantitative method. The population in this study was students of class XI- Public Senior High School 12 Semarang. The sampling technique was carried out by a random sampling technique, which is class XI IPA 2 as an experimental class and XI IPA Class 1 as the control class. Learning outcomes using HOTS-based PBL-Based HOTS has increased pre-test and post-test values from 33.47 to 35.00 while the Discovery Learning-based HOTS has increased from 33.29 to 34.20, (2) on the PBL-Based HOTS, pre-test value of high motivated-students is 31.89 has increased in post-test of 6.55 to 38.44. While the low-motivated students have a pre-test value of 29.89 and have increased in post-test of 1.89 to 31.78 for Discovery Learning-based HOTS, pre-test value on high-motivated students of 34.11, it has increased in post-test of 0.45 to 34.56 while in low-motivated students has the pre-test value of 29.67, experiencing an increase on post-test of 3.11 to 32.78, and (3) there is interaction between PBL-based HOTS with Discovery Learning-Based HOTS to student learning outcomes. The research is capable of generating synthesis about the effectiveness of Discovery Learning-Based HOTS in English learning, providing empirical evidence so that schools and teachers can select effective learning models and it can be a basis or a reference to further research in English learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is still a shortcoming for primary school children. Various studies were conducted to improve the learning results of mathematics. Unexpectedly there was a phenomenon in a remote place, under the foot of Mount Lawu, which was a primary school that had been ranked in the top ten of the National and 5 of Central Java Province to achieve the National Mathematics exam scores. The primary school is Public Elementary School 03 Bandardawung. Good scores of students at Public Elementary School 03 Bandardawung are still stable today. This study aims to determine the learning and causes of excellence of students at Public Elementary School 03 Bandardawung in Mathematics. The research method uses qualitative descriptive-analytical with phenomenological design. The results showed: First, planning of learning in the design according to the materials and needs of the students and following the prevailing rules. Second, the implementation of learning is implemented in the student center with media optimization. Third, evaluation is done from the process to the end, there is a repetition system, where if there are students who do not understand, it will be repeated continuously until the student understands. Fourth, the competency of teachers is good, demonstrated by the fulfillment of four teachers competence and ten basic teaching techniques. Fifth, the school, community, and family environment fully support learning. Synergy, support, and high dedication from all elements make learning so optimal. The benefit of research is to provide an overview of how potential Mathematics learning can be used widely because it has proven its good results over the years at Public Elementary School 03 Bandardawung.

Abstract

The teaching materials are to help the teachers in conducting learning activities in the classroom. The materials are written and unwritten. This study purposed to analyze the teaching material using e-module as local content Batik, develop e-module local content Batik that is practically and effectiveness in improving the local content learning for elementary school in Pekalongan, analyze the validity test of Batik’s e-module is to measure the learning of local content for elementary school in Pekalongan, the effectiveness of Batik’s e-module can enhance the learning of local content for elementary school in Pekalongan. This study uses research and development models (R&D). The development of teaching material in this study is Batik’s e-module. The teaching material provides Figures and videos about Batik, so it will be easily for students in understanding the material. The result of the feasibility material by the experts have obtained the percentage 88.6%. Then, the result of media validation is 97.14%. Based on the results validation show that the developing e-module is in the excellent categories, so it has been feasible to be applied in the learning process. The effectiveness tests are conducted in three requirements, there are analyzing the minimum completeness test, individual classical completeness test, and improved learning outcomes. The results of three requirements test, show that Batik’s e-module could improve the students learning outcomes significantly compared to the learning by using the published book. This study is supported in education, to develop Batik’s e-module. The product becomes an alternative media to assist the students learn Batik by using technology. It can also use as a source of reading in the learning of local content.

Abstract

Teacher training is a group of several activities conducted intentionally by a group of people or someone using many kinds of learning type to enhance capability, knowledge, experience and action to create meaningful learning. The aim of this study is to describe teacher training in tuition center. The method applied in this study is explanatory mixed method by Creswell. Data collection technique used are questionnaire, interview, observation and applied parametric inferential data for numerical data. The research result showed that even though tutors in tuition center are not from educational program, they still have high interest to teach. The existed training system is proven to be effective to teach pedagogical knowledge for tutors with non educational program. Training program for tutors are not systematic yet, therefore there is a huge oportunity and challenge for curriculum developer to create a curriculum for tutors in tuition center that can be use by all tuition center in Indonesia. This study proved that there is an urgent need of curriculum for teacher training program in tuition center and also become a reference to develop the curriculum. This study can be used as a reference for curriculum developer to create curriculum for tutors in tuition center.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze teachers' perceptions of the implementation of E-rapor policies as a form of reporting and documenting learning outcomes, implementation of E-rapor as part of curriculum innovation in aspects of learning outcomes, as well as supporting factors and inhibition of learning curriculum innovation through the implementation of E-rapor in schools. The type of research used is qualitative research case studies. Data retrieval uses interview techniques to dig deeper into the implementation of E-rapor; observations to observe the condition of the school, the level of competence of teachers in using IT, and the infrastructure facilities used in the implementation of E-rapor; and documentation studies to strengthen the data obtained from the interview results. Data validity checks are conducted with data triangulation and source triangulation to compare and re-examine the degree of trust in information obtained through in-depth interviews. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive models based on the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this study show that: 1) The emergence of various positive and negative perceptions of teachers acting as E-rapor users on E-rapor implementation policies as part of curriculum innovation, 2) Implementation of E-rapor has been developed how to use in accessing E-rapor applications that can not only be accessed through intranet networks in schools but can also be done online at home in processing the learning results of students , 3) Supporting factors and inhibition of learning curriculum innovation through the implementation of E-rapor is fully realized as a determinant of success in its implementation. The implementation of E-rapor conducted online is part of curriculum innovation that plays a very important role in the assessment of students' learning outcomes in schools. With these innovations, documenting the reporting of student learning assessments can be implemented effectively and efficiently resulting in a more accurate, transparent, and accountable report.

Abstract

Noble characters are the main foundation in the formation of human personality. To form noble characters in life, there are needs for continuous guidance, especially at the level of Elementary School/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. MI Tamrinussibyan 01 Al-Hikmah is the best private madrasah in Brebes Regency which has implemented a moral education program in madrasah. This study aims to evaluate the moral education program of MI Tamrinussibyan 01 Al-Hikmah. Evaluation is carried out on the aspects of planning, implementation, and results. This research used qualitative methods with direct observations in the field, digging up information through interviews with teachers, students, and parents. The results of this study are: (1) the planning of the moral education program in the human resources and infrastructure components still needs to be improved, (2) the implementation of the moral education program has been well integrated into all learning activities in schools, (3) the results of the moral education program in religious attitudes, honesty, manners are appropriate for the purpose, while the attitude of responsibility and compassion for the environment still needs to be improved. Implication of this study can be used as a reference for other schools in developing a moral education curriculum so that the results obtained are in accordance with the objectives to be achieved.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of education include various training to improve teacher competence, for example by writing books, popular articles, and journals. Therefore, schools must pay attention to the performance of teachers with all their energy and capital to improve these skills. This study aims to develop a digital textbook writing training model and also see an increase in teacher competence in textbook writing skills. The research is a development method. The object of research is the teacher who participates in textbook writing training, research instruments in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Use Regression method analysis. The results showed that from several training models, it was the in-on-in service-learning training model that influenced increasing teacher competence in making textbooks. These findings confirm that the in-on-in service-learning model can improve teacher competence in writing digital textbooks

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing use of gadgets among children. This phenomenon encourages the role of parents to do mentoring on children in using gadgets, especially in the learning process. This research method uses qualitative descriptive approach with observation data collection techniques, documentation, questionnaires and interviews. The purpose of this study is to find out the involvement of parents in accompanying children when using gadgets in the learning process. The results of this study found the involvement of parents in accompanying children when using gadgets for the learning process is very necessary because with the involvement of parents children can be wise in the use of gadgets and more focused in learning. This research has implications on parents' knowledge about the assistance of gadget use for children aged 4 -5 years.

Abstract

The wellbeing of formal early childhood education teachers in Indonesia has been improving since the government issued a teacher certification program. The qualified teachers with an undergraduate degree of education could join the certification program for teachers. This research aims to reveal the meaning of wellbeing for male teachers of early childhood education. It applied survey and interview methods. The subjects consisted of 16 male teachers of early childhood education in Boyolali. The data were collected with Google Form. Then, it was continued by interviewing three male teachers. The data analysis was descriptive qualitative. The findings were the teaching experience for each different subject. The meaning of teaching is to motivate and to encourage the understanding of the teaching concept as a good deed. In this research, it referred to how the subjects perceived life as teachers and made it an everlasting deed to create a better generation for the country. There were 11 respondents who stated that being early childhood education teachers made them having well-being. Being early childhood education for the male teachers meant to have passion, values, and ideals. It could provide them various experiences such as being patient, providing excellent models as if they were the learners' parents, working while worshiping, contributing in the parenting field, and developing early childhood education
