Abstract

Purpose: This systematic review examines the relationship between physical literacy (PL) and health education, with a focus on the educational outcomes generated by school-based interventions targeting students from primary through secondary levels. It aims to synthesise evidence on how PL-oriented programmes influence physical, cognitive, affective, and social dimensions of student development. Materials and Methods: Following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, five electronic databases were systematically searched: Dimensions, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed/MEDLINE, and ERIC. Search terms combined 'physical literacy,' 'health education,' 'physical education,' 'educational outcomes,' 'learning outcomes,' and related population terms (student*, school*, adolescen*, youth). Publications were limited to 2022–2026. Independent reviewers screened and extracted data; quality was assessed using adapted ROBIS and GRADE frameworks. Results: From 1,889 records identified, 38 studies met inclusion criteria. Holistic PL interventions demonstrated consistent positive effects on the physical domain (motor competence, physical activity participation) and moderate effects on affective outcomes (self-efficacy, motivation, enjoyment). Cognitive and social outcomes showed mixed evidence. Teacher competency, implementation quality, and policy alignment emerged as critical moderating factors. Significant heterogeneity was noted across study designs, PL assessment instruments, and reported outcomes. Conclusions: Physical literacy interventions within health education contexts offer measurable benefits across several educational outcome domains, particularly for physical competence and affective development. Future research must prioritise standardised PL assessment, longitudinal designs, and equitable implementation frameworks to advance the evidence base and inform national policy.

Abstract

Cardiorespiratory capacity and motor efficiency are crucial for athlete performance under extreme fatigue. This descriptive quantitative meta-analysis aims to analyze the effectiveness of caffeine as an ergogenic aid on physical and psychomotor performance. Secondary data were drawn from five reputable scientific literatures with controlled experimental designs in badminton, soccer, hockey, karate, and cognitive function. The synthesis of results shows that caffeine significantly increases aerobic endurance ($p < 0.05), maintains skill stability under fatigue, and improves accuracy and reaction time. Neurophysiologically, caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the central nervous system to delay the perception of fatigue and stimulates calcium release in the sarcoplasmic reticulum to strengthen muscle contractions. An optimal dose of 3–6 mg/kg body weight consumed 45–60 minutes before activity has been shown to be valid, legal, and effective in delaying central/peripheral fatigue and boosting performance by 2–3%. Further research is needed to examine the variability in individual responses based on genetics and caffeine habituation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of sports injuries most frequently experienced by badminton players, their locations, and the factors that can trigger them. The method used was descriptive analysis through a literature review of scientific sources published in the last five years. The analysis showed that 70% of athletes had experienced an injury. In the upper body, the elbow was the most common injury site (30%), due to errors in hitting technique. Meanwhile, in the lower body, the ankle was the most frequently affected (40%) due to careless footwork. The most common type of injury was muscle spasm (45%). This is caused by improper technique, inadequate warm-up, and suboptimal physical condition. Addressing problems incorrectly can risk serious physical injury and even psychological trauma. Therefore, athletes are advised to maximize their warm-up, and coaches need to focus more on improving basic technique.

Abstract

This study evaluates the importance of warming up and cooling down during exercise to reduce the risk of injury. Using qualitative methods through a literature review of journals and scientific articles, it was found that warming up plays a crucial role in physical and mental preparation, improving performance, and enhancing focus. Warming up can be implemented actively through general, dynamic, and preventative movements. Cooling down—whether active (low-intensity) or passive (such as immersing in cold water)—functions to return the body to a calm state, lower the heart rate, and reduce muscle soreness. Therefore, both activities are essential for preventing injury and maintaining long-term fitness.
