Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain and describe the form of id, ego, and superego in the main character in the Mata di Tanah Melus novel by Okky Madasari. The method used in this study was a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data source in this study was a document in the form of Mata di Tanah Melus novel by Okky Madasari, which was published by Gramedia Pustaka in 2018. The data used in this study were dialogues in the novel. The data analysis technique used in this study was the analysis of documents to find the form of id, ego, and superego in the novel. The results of this study indicate that there were forms of id, ego, and superego in Okky Madasari's Mata di Tanah Melus novel which were reflected by the main character. The forms of id, ego, and superego were found based on Sigmund Freud's personality theory. Through the form of id, ego, and superego, it can be seen how the personality of the main character in the Mata di Tanah Melus novel by Okky Madasari.

Abstract

Character education is a form of cultivation of noble character in students. The aspect of 'social care' character is one of the most important of the eighteen character education in Indonesia, this is because the sense of sensitivity and help towards others in the environment around students begins to diminish. There are various kinds of media to succeed in internalizing character education, one of which is a novel. The novel Merindu Baginda Nabi by Habiburrahman El-Shirazy can be said to be a complete novel in instilling character in Indonesia. Therefore, researchers will explore how the value of social care character education in the novel Merindu Baginda Nabi. The research method used is qualitative descriptive qualitative research. The novel Merindu Baginda Nabi as a source of data in this study, in the form of dialogue and narrative stories about character education about social care. Based on the results of the analysis, seventeen data were found that were divided into four important parts, namely: giving help to others, caring for others, mutual respect, and sympathy.

Abstract

This aimed to describe the cultural elements in SentonoGenthong folklore in Pacitan Regency as literary learning in senior high schools. This research applied a qualitative method with an ethnographic research approach that emphasizes data on citations to folklore obtained from the results and transcripts of participant interviews and data sources from SentonoGenthong folklore in Pacitan Regency. The data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation, field notes, and transcription. They were then analysed using aspects of description, analysis, and interpretation. This research used triangulation of sources, methods, and theories. This research unravelled the description of the cultural elements in the SentonoGentong folklore in Pacitan Regency, namely (1) language systems, (2) knowledge systems, and (3) religious systems.

Abstract

Literary works are a media that has an important role in building character. One of the literary works is novels. A novel contributes the thoughts and ideas of the author through the language that aims to provide benefits to the readers. This study aimed to describe the character values of hard work in the novels of Leila S. Chudori. This was a qualitative research using descriptive qualitative method and content analysis. The data in this research were from the novels of Leila S. Chudori. The research results showed that the character values of hard work of the character were found through the implied words, phrases, and sentences in the novels of Leila S. Chudori. The character values of hard work in the novels could be seen from how the character was persistent to achieve the goals, and able to find solutions for every problem. The characters of hard work reflected from the character could provide a value or message for the readers of the novels of Leila S. Chudori. The characters of hard work found in the two novels were: (1)unyielding attitude, (2) willingness to try, (3) living a life with positive thinking, and (4) character of struggling for life.
