Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan pellet kulit jengkol terhadap efisiensi pakan dan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) pada ternak Domba. Analisa data ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 kelompok ulangan /Perlakuan yang di uji adalah perlakuan P1 (kontrol), perlakuan P2 penambahan kulit jengkol 15%, perlakuan P3 penambahan kulit jengkol 22,5%. Digunakan 15 ekor ternak domba Parameter yang di ukur yaitu Efisiensi pakan dan IOFC. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium lapang Institut pertanian Bogor (IPB) dari bulan Mei sampai juni 2019. Penelitian memperlihatkan pengaruh pemberian pelet kulit jengkol (Pithecellbium lobatum Benth) sebagai pakan Domba tidak mempengaruhi efisiensi pakan. penambahan pellet kulit jengkol sampai 22,5 % sedangkan kandungan konsumsi ransum yang berbeda tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap Income Over Feed Cost karena kulit jengkol mengandung tanin dan saponin apabila diberikan dalam level tinggi dapat merusak palatabilitas ternak karena kandungan tanin dan saponin dapat bersifat membuat rasa sepat (astringent property). Kata kunci: Pelet Kulit jengkol, Ransum, terhadap ternak domba.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun kelor (Moringaoleifera) terhadap kadar High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL), danHaemoglobin pada darah itik Talang Benih. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan AcakKelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dengan masing-masing 4 ulangan, menggunakan 80ekor itik Talang Benih pada setiap kelompok. Perlakuan A (Tanpa Penambahan Tepung DaunKelor), B (2% Tepung Daun Kelor), C (4% Tepung Daun Kelor), D (6% Tepung Daun Delor) danE (8% Tepung Daun Kelor) yang mulai diberikan pada umur 2 bulan. Pengambilan sampel secaraacak sebanyak 20 ekor dari setiap kelompok dilakukan di akhir pemeliharaan umur 3 bulan denganparameter yang meliputi: Komponen darah yaitu Haemoglobin, HDL dan LDL. Berdasarkanpenelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa Suplementasi Tepung Daun Kelor (Moringaoleifera) dalam ransum itik Talang Benih tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap Haemoglobin tetapiberpengaruh nyata terhadap High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) dan Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL).Penggunaan Suplemen Tepung Daun Kelor sampai 8% mempengaruhi High Density Lipoprotein(HDL) dan High Density Lipoprotein (LDL).Kata Kunci: Tepung Daun Kelor, Itik Talang Benih, Haemoglobin, HDL Colesterol, LDLCholesterol

Abstract

Alelopati merupakan proses yang melibatkan metabolit sekunder yang diproduksi oleh tanaman. Alelopati dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan di sekitar tanaman budidaya. Tanaman sorgum bisa menghasilkan alelopati yang dapat digunakan sebagai bioherbisida. Sumber ekstrak dari varietas berbeda memiliki potensi bioherbisida yang juga berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji ekstrak organ ratun tanaman sorgum yang ditanam di lahan inceptisol terhadap perkecambahan. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan inceptisol Kelurahan Kandang Mas, Kecamatan Kampung Melayu, Kota Bengkulu dan di laboratorium pada bulan Januari sampai Juni 2023. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktor tunggal. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah ekstrak air sorgum berumur tujuh minggu yang berasal dari bahan dan varietas berbeda, yaitu kontrol, daun varietas Numbu, batang varietas Numbu, akar varietas Numbu, daun varietas Super 1, batang varietas Super 1, akar varietas Super 1, daun varietas Suri 4, batang varietas Suri 4, dan akar varietas Suri 4. Peubah yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah persentase kecambah normal, persentase kecambah abnormal, panjang hipokotil, panjang radikula, bobot segar (hipokotil, radikula, kotiledon, dan kecambah), bobot kering (hipokotil, radikula, kotiledon, dan kecambah). Data amatan dianalisis ragam dan perlakuan yang berpengaruh nyata diuji lanjut menggunakan uji BNT taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak ratun mampu menghambat perkecambahan biji sorgum. Ekstrak air berasal dari ratun daun varietas Super 1 menghasilkan kecambah abnormal tertinggi, kecambah normal terendah, panjang plumula dan panjang radikula terendah. Organ daun ratun varietas Super 1 khususnya dan organ ratun varietas Super 1 pada umumnya merupakan bahan alelopati terbaik sebagai bioherbisida.

Abstract

Antioksidan merupakan molekul yang mampu memperlambat atau mencegah proses oksidasi molekul lain. Oksidasi adalah reaksi kimia yang dapat menghasilkan radikal bebas, sehingga memicu reaksi berantai yang dapat merusak sel. Banyak penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman rosella (Hibiscus sbdariffa L.) bermanfaat sebagai antioksidan. Salah satu senyawa yang berperan sebagai penangkal radikal bebas yang terkandung dalam rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) adalah kandungan senyawa fenolik. Kegiatan dilakukan di SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bengkulu. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa siswi SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bengkulu yang dilakukan dengan beberapa rangkaian yang tentunya mengedukasi, diantara kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah sosialisasi, penyuluhan, pembagian teh bunga rosella, pembagian brosur. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan siswa siswi kelas XII MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bengkulu mengetahui pengaruh seduhan teh bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) untuk kesehatan terutama sebagai antioksidan, efek samping, dan cara pembuatan teh bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.)

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the fertility, hatchability and hatching weight of quail (Corturnix-corturnix japonica) eggs in various egg weights. The research was carried out experimentally using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 3 treatments and 4 replications. This research will be carried out from October to December 2020 at Kandang Puyuh, Kasih Ibu Orphanage, Jalan Bali, Bengkulu City. The tools used in this research were 4 manual hatching machines, box-shaped with a capacity of around 300 quail eggs, scales and an electrical energy source. The materials used are 300 quail eggs and disinfectant. The research was carried out experimentally using a Randomized Block Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment applied is egg weight consisting of: B1 = Light (≤9.5g), B2 = Medium (9.6 – 10.5g), B3 = Heavy (≥10.6g)

Abstract

Luak Hitam Farmer Group, one of twelve farmer groups in Bandung Jaya Village, has great potential in the plantation, agriculture, and poultry farming sectors. However, high fluctuations in the price of feed concentrates are an obstacle in meeting the nutritional needs of poultry. On the other hand, the abundance of durian seeds as a source of energy and gold snails as a source of feed for ducks in this area has not been optimally utilized. In addition, post-harvest processing of quail into high-economic value products has also not been done effectively. This community service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of farmer groups in processing durian seeds and gold snails into feed ingredients and post-harvest processing of quail. Activities include program socialization, education, and training, as well as mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The results of the program showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the Luak Hitam Farmer Group in producing alternative feed made from durian seed flour and gold snail, as well as post-harvest management of quail into products of economic value.

Abstract

Marigolds (Tagetes erecta) belong to the widely developed astraceae family and are easy to cultivate. Marigold flowers have a high content of nutrients and active compounds so that the potential to be used as poultry feed. This study aims to identify phenotypes, nutrients and bioactive compounds Marigold found in Bengkulu province Indonesia. The study was conducted using purposive sampling survey method by conducting non-experimental descriptive observations. The variables observed were phenotypic identification, nutrient content and bioactive compounds. There are 7 (seven) Marigold Accessions, Nutritional content, especially kaasar protein, is quite good at 8.75-14.23% with the highest content in the wrrl accession which is almost the same as WRRM and WRDP while the lowest is WRSJ. While the coarse fiber content is almost the same ranging from 9.19-12.08%. Accession WRRL has the lowest tannin and HCN content of 7.80% and 0.64%. Carotenoids were moderately high (327 mg/kg) at the accession of WRDP. The accession of WRRL has a better content of nutrients and bioactive compounds compared to other Accessions this shows that marigold can be used as an alternative to natural feed additives to increase poultry productivity

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to empower the people of Padang Pelawi Village, Seluma Regency, in utilizing medicinal plants to improve family health. This activity was carried out through training in medicinal plant cultivation, herbal product processing, instant ginger production, and guidance on their use for everyday health. The implementation method used a participatory approach, involving the community directly in every stage of the activity. The first step was identifying local medicinal plants that could be used, followed by training on plant cultivation and how to process the harvest into beneficial products, such as instant ginger. Ongoing guidance was provided to ensure the sustainability of the activity and optimal management of the medicinal plants. The results of this activity show that the community has gained knowledge and skills in cultivating medicinal plants and processing them into useful products. Some families have already started growing medicinal plants in their yards and processing them into products that can be consumed or sold. Additionally, this activity has had an impact on increasing family income through the sale of medicinal plant products. This initiative successfully raised the community's awareness of the importance of utilizing medicinal plants as a natural and affordable health solution.

Abstract

Allelopathy-based bioherbicides for drought-stressed sorghum plants are a concrete step towards sustainable agriculture. The aim was to identify the germination characteristics of sorghum seeds and flavonoid levels in their extracts at various levels of drought stress. Extract materials were prepared from June to August 2024 at Bengkulu University Greenhouse, Kandang Limun Village, Bengkulu City, and bioassay tests were conducted in August 2024 at Pematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu, Bengkulu City. Flavonoid analysis was performed at the Integrated Research and Testing Laboratory (LPPT) of Gadjah Mada University in August 2024. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor. One sorghum variety, Super 1, was planted with water stress treatment through watering patterns every day, every 2 days, every 3 days, every 4 days, and every 5 days. The experimental unit was a petri dish, and the experiment was repeated four times. The Petri dish bioassay method was applied in this experiment. Each petri dish was given 10 mL of aqueous extract, and 25 mung bean seeds were planted and incubated for three days. The results showed that the watering pattern achieved the highest flavonoid content every 4 days (4121.00 µg/g), and the second highest flavonoid content was Super 1 + every 5 days. The once every 5 days watering pattern achieved the highest sprout inhibition. The higher the level of stress, the higher the level of inhibition of seed germination, so it has the potential to be the best bioherbicide.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung Maggot (Chrysomya megacephala) Terhadap Kualitas Telur Burung Puyuh (Indek Kuning Telur, Haugh Unit dan Indek Putih Telur) dalam ransum dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan lokasi Experimental Farm Jl. Danau 5 Kota Bengkulu Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 4 Bulan, dimulai bulan 25 Maret – 15 Juni 2021. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari atas P0 (0 %   tepung magot), P1 (2% tepung magot), P2 (4% tepung magot), P3 (6% tepung magot dan P4 (8% tepung magot). Tepung maggot diberikan setiap hari dengan cara dicampur pada pakan selama penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung magot berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap indeks kuning telur (P < 0,01) dengan rataan 4,01 %, Haugh Unit (HU) dengan rataan 4,21%, dan Indek putih telur 1,08% Pemberian tepung magot sampai dengan 2%, 4% Dan 6%  dapat meningkatkan kualitas telur. Burung puyuh bisa meningkatkan indek kuning telur, Haugh unit dan indeks putih telur burung puyuh.   Kata kunci : Tepung Maggot, Indek Kuning Telur, Haughit  dan Indek Putih Telur.
