Abstract

Abstract: The advancement of technology and information in the digital era presents a challenge in shaping the character of the younger generation, especially children. The unlimited use of digital media impacts children's character development. The aim of this study is to examine the role of educational games both conventional and modern in building children’s character. This research employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods to analyze and collect various literature sources, books, and journals on the topic. Educational games can foster positive character traits in children, such as independence, discipline, creativity, cooperation, and responsibility. This study is expected to provide evidence that educational games can serve as a medium for shaping positive character in children. Keyword: Educational games, Character building. Abstrak: Meningkatnya teknologi dan informasi di era digital memberikan tantangan dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda khususnya anak-anak. Pengaruh penggunaan digital tanpa batas mempengaruhi perubahan karakter pada diri anak. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran permainan edukatif baik dalam bentuk konvensional maupun modern dalam membentuk karakter anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur untuk menganalisis dan mengumpulkan berbagai literatur, buku, dan jurnal terkait. Permainan edukatif dapat menumbuhkan nilai-nilai karakter yang baik pada diri anak seperti kemandirian, kedisiplinan, kreativitas, kerjasama dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan bukti bahwa permainan edukatif dapat menjadi media dalam membentuk karakter positif pada diri anak. Kata kunci: Permainan edukatif, Pembentukan karakter.

Abstract

The modern era is marked by rapid technological advancements, characterized by the ease and speed with which information can be accessed. This condition requires students to possess intellectual intelligence in both academic and non-academic fields while maintaining positive character as a foundation for their attitudes and actions in daily life. The purpose of this study is to explore efforts to build students’ character through character education in facing the challenges of the modern era. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method to analyze and collect various data from books, articles, and relevant reports. Character can be built and developed through character education in both academic and non-academic settings to foster positive traits such as self-concept, discipline, responsibility, independence, courage, and others. This study is expected to provide insights that building students’ positive character can be achieved through character education implemented in higher education institutions. Keyword: character education, positive character
