Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social conflict in William Faulkner’s novel. It is done to reveal the types of conflicts found in the novel and causes of conflict in this novel. In conducting this research, the research used qualitative methods. This research is classified as library research because the data collection is done by reading novels and reading several books and other references related to the topic. The data were analyzed based on the type of conflict and its causes and then presented descriptively. In other words, the researcher analyzed the data according to the topic and then present the result in a narrative. In analyzing the data, the researcher used a mimetic approach. The results of the research show that there are two categories of social conflict in the novel, namely: conflict between individuals and individuals and conflict between individuals and group

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the affection between John and Savannah In this study, the writers employ qualitative research in which the data gathered in form of words and quotations. In analysing this novel, the writers apply objective approach because this analysis will be only focused on the literary work itself without looking at the external aspects of the literary work. It means that the writers only pay attention to the internal parts of the story in the novel. The result of this research will be able to enlarge the reader ability in appreciating literary works and also it can deeper the knowledge of the next researchers.

Abstract

To reveals the self-defense of Ronnie Miller in Nicholas Sparks The Last Song. In this research the writer used qualitative method in analyzing the novel. It means that, this research does not deal with numbers or diagrams as in quantitative research. This research uses the theory of Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalysis. which states that psychics is a literary theory that examines the psychological elements of the characters in literature. the researcher concludes that there are threemain characters of self-defense reflected from Ronnie Miller as a daughter in her family and major character in this novel. Those are: Have a sense of Concern over hatred, recover quickly from difficulties and toughness and have a strong determination, Self-defense is an act of defend ourselves from obstacles, challenges and problems and take those parts as self-improvement, related with the novel it is against the negative impact waftre her parents divorced. Finally, the researcher concludes that Ronnnie MillerThe Last Song as a broken home child could be faced by self-defense and inner powerto survive from her condition eventough sometimes she faced many problems which is impact from her family condition.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal how the main character Estella can show her selfactualization in Disney’s Cruella movie. This study uses a qualitative research method. This study also uses a psychological approach and uses Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory which is useful to explain and support this research on self-actualization that is fulfilled by the main character in the Disney’s Cruella movie. The results of this study indicate that Estella as the main character is able to fulfill all her needs from physiological needs, security needs, belongingness and love needs also her esteem needs to fulfill her self-actualization as seen from the characteristics of a self-actualizing person. It can be concluded from the results of this research that Estella or Cruella has achieved self-actualization in the Disney’s Cruella movie.
