Abstract

Latar belakang: Peningkatan kebutuhan zat gizi pada masa remaja akibat adanya pertumbuhan dan menstruasi yang dialami remaja putri menyebabkan remaja putri rentan terkena kurang darah. Anemia merupakan kondisi yang menunjukkan kadar hemoglobin darah kurang dari standar.  Rendahnya pengetahuan remaja tentang anemia merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab tidak langsung. Ada banyak jenis media yang dapat digunakan dalam menyampaikan edukasi tentang anemia baik media visual maupun audiovisual.Tujuan: Menganalisisi artikel tentang efektivitas media edukasi gizi terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan remaja dalam pencegahan anemia.Ulasan: Penelitian ini adalah studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan artikel yang memiliki relevansi terhadap topik tertentu yang bisa diperoleh dan dipublikasi di berbagai sumber. Dari sembilan artikel terdapat lima artikel yang menunjukan terjadinya peningkatan skor rata-rata pengetahuan remaja setelah diberikan edukasi dengan menggunakan media visual, satu artikel yang menunjukan terjadi peningkatan skor pengetahuan setelah diberi edukasi dengan media audiovisual, dan tiga artikel yang menunjukan bahwa setelah diberikan edukasi dengan menggabungkan media visual dan audiovisual berdampak pada peningkatan skor rata-rata pengetahuan remaja.Kesimpulan: Media visual dan audiovisual efektif digunakan secara bersamaan untuk membantu meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja dalam pemberian edukasi gizi tentang anemia. Dalam penyampaian edukasi gizi mengenai anemia pada remaja disarankan untuk menggunakan kombinasi media visual dan audiovisual secara bersamaan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang efektif.

Abstract

Background: Stunting, one of the malnutrition that started since in pregnant until 2 first life's years and made worse by repeated infection disease.  Objectives: This study aims to identify the correlation between the presence of gut microbiota and stunting.  Discusion: This study explored article Pubmed database, Science Direct, Sage Journal, Springer Link, through keywords “stunting, gut microbiota, under 5 years”.  Furthermore, the studies found are 5 open access articles, and were filtered since 2016 until 2021. The guts microbiota may contribute to stunting in children. Gastrointestinal infection has spesific mechanism that causing postnatal stunting. Immaturity and deficiency of non-pathogenic microbiota in the gut are the main causes. Decreased gastrointestinal microbiota diversity in children who suffer diarrhea and stunting. Conclusions: composition change of the gut bacteria of children have been associated with an increase in the number of gastrointestinal infections resulting in chronic growth disorders.

Abstract

Background: Traditional food is the most potent food to develop and is an essential component in intervention strategy for increasing toddler daily consumption. Traditional food contributes to micro-nutrition and protein, which are needed for toddler growth. Objectives: This research aimed to identify traditional food and toddlers' traditional food consumption in coastal families in three ethnicity in Bengkulu. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional design. Samples were mothers as food givers in the family, and the analysis unit was the toddler, in a total of 115, picked randomly from 137 households with 12-59 months old toddlers. Data was collected using quantitative and qualitative techniques, in-depth interviews, and food recall forms. Traditional food identification comes from FFQ (Food Frequency Questionnaire). Consumption of toddler fisherman family data that had been collected and compared with RDA 2019. Analyses were done by formulating the results from the in-depth interview and uni variate analysis.  Results: Traditional food contribution to fisherman's toddler contained 19.34% energy, 40.86% protein, 17.65% fat, 17.65% carbohydrate, 16,3% PUFA fat acid, and 13.8% MUFA. Many different traditional foods often consumed by Melayu, Serawai, and Minang ethics in coastal families could be classified as fish, vegetables, and snacks. Conclusions: Traditional food contribution could fulfill nutritional needs of energy and macro-nutrients ranging from 17-41%. We must increase traditional food consumption in coastal families by varying processing so that each ethnicity's distinctive taste in traditional food can be maintained.

Abstract

Background: Central obesity manifests as the accumulation of adipose tissue in abdominal (visceral). The assessment of this condition often employs abdominal circumference (AC) as a commonly utilized metric. The increasing prevalence of central obesity is linked to dietary habits encompassing simple carbohydrates, fiber, and protein, environment, behavior, and genetic factors. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between sugar, salt, and oil consumption patterns and central obesity in employees. Methods: This research was an observational study with a cross-sectional design on 35 employees. Data collection included sugar, salt, and oil consumption patterns collected using a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), and central obesity was obtained by measuring abdominal circumference using measuring tape, then statistical analysis using the Chi-square test. Results: Most respondents had unhealthy consumption patterns of sugar, salt, and oil that were 71.4%, 62.9%, and 82.9%, respectively. There was a significant relationship between consumption patterns of sugar (p=0.002), salt (p=0.033), oil (p=0.019) and the proportion of central obesity in employees at the Regional Library and Archives Office of Bengkulu Province. Conclusions: Twenty-two employees experienced central obesity, with the majority surpassing daily sugar, salt, and oil intake recommendations as a notable risk factor. To mitigate this, Bengkulu Province Regional Library and Archives Office staff are advised to limit the consumption of sugar, salt, and oil-rich items such as salted fish, canned sardines, dried shrimp, instant chili sauce, soy sauce, instant noodles, palm oil, and coconut milk in their meals.
