Abstract

Abstract

The Eastern Region of Indonesia (EI) has a lower electrification ratio than the Western Region of Indonesia. This means that there are more households in EI that do not have access to electricity which is also in line with the high percentage of poverty in EI. The percentage of poverty in rural areas is also higher and access to electricity is more difficult than in urban areas. The electricity subsidy budget targeting poor households also continues to increase even though the targeted subsidy policy was implemented in 2017. Therefore, this study aims to determine the socio-economic characteristics and electricity consumption of poor households in urban and rural EI in 2020, as well as analyze socio-economic characteristics that affect the electricity expenditure of poor households in urban and rural EI in 2020. The results with robust regression indicate that the variables that had a positive significant effect on the electricity expenditure of poor households in urban and rural areas are higher education of household head, number of household members, floor area, income per capita, electronic ownership, and the significant negative is residence ownership. The secondary education of household head are only significant in rural areas, while those that are not significant in urban and rural areas are the age of household head and working activity of household head.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia had a major impact on the capital market. The stock prices of all sectors experienced significant fluctuations. The property sector is the sector with the lowest share price in 2020. This can be seen from the movement of the property sector index which experienced a downward trend. The movement of the sector index is influenced by the movement of stock prices of large-cap companies (Big-Cap), where the average share price of Big-Cap companies tends to decrease compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. This study aims to determine what variables affect prices. Big-Cap company shares in the property sector in 2020. Panel data regression analysis was used to determine the effect of GDP, CR, DER, ROE, and PBV on the share price of Big-Cap companies in the property sector. The results showed that DER and ROE had a negative effect, while PBV had a positive effect on the stock price of Big-Cap companies in the property sector significantly. Variables CR and GDP have no significant effect on the share price of Big-Cap companies in the property sector. Therefore, investors who invest in shares of Big-Cap companies in the property sector need to consider the value of financial ratios, especially DER, ROE, and PBV before making investment decisions.

Abstract

Sedangkan harga riil ekspor berpengaruh negatif signifikan.

Abstract

The successful implementation of fiscal decentralization will show the achievement of public welfare by increasing economic growth. However, what happened in North Sumatera, there are indications that the public welfare has not been achieved. This can be seen from the economic growth of districts/cities which shows a slow and uneven increase. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of fiscal decentralization on economic growth of districts/cities in North Sumatra in 2011-2019. The analytical method used is panel data regression analysis with the fixed effects model Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) method. The results showed that the PAD ratio and the DAK ratio had a positive and significant effect on economic growth of districts/cities in North Sumatra in 2011-2019. The DBH ratio and DAU ratio has no significant effect on economic growth.

Abstract

Unemployment is a crucial problem that occurs in Indonesia. Unemployment is dominated by educated unemployment. Province Kepulauan Riau occupies the highest position based on the value of TPT in 2021, which is 9.91 percent. For the last 5 years, the Riau Archipelago has always occupied a position above the national TPT. Generally, unemployment is more prevalent in urban areas than in rural areas, this is due to the large number of people moving from villages to cities which causes high demand for jobs in cities. By using secondary data from Sakernas August 2021, this study aims to determine the variables that affect the characteristics of educated unemployment in the Riau Islands Province in 2021 seen from rural urban areas and urban areas only. The methods used are descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using binary logistic regression. The results of the study show that the variables that are significant in influencing educated unemployment in the Riau Islands in 2021 when viewed from rural urban areas and urban areas only are age, job training and work experience.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to validate instruments regarding digital technology access among Indonesian English as a Foreign Language (EFL) faculty members during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). An EFL Faculty member’s Access to Digital Technology (EFL-FADT) scale was adopted from previous relevant studies consisting of Motivation, Skills, and Use. A total of 235 EFL faculty members from three public and three private universities in Indonesia participated in this study, selected through cluster random sampling. A survey design was applied to examine the factor structure of the EFL-FADT. The survey data were computed through the steps of Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with IBM SPSS 23 and SPSS AMOS 23. Through the EFA with Varimax rotation, two factors emerged from Motivation, three from Skills, and two from Use. The result successfully mapped the proposed model. The CFA approach verified the instrument which was satisfactory for Indonesian EFL faculty members. The findings informed 25 valid and reliable indicators. The measured scale achieves psychometric properties. It can provide future studies with a tool to capture EFL faculties’ access to digital technology.

Abstract

Supervision of learning is one of the most important parts of improving the quality of education. It is necessary to develop an evaluation instrument that can assess the performance of school principals’ learning supervision, to achieve national education goals that accord the needs of the times. So, the purpose of this study is to produce an instrument for assessing the learning supervision performance of the head of vocational high school (VHS) that can be used as a reference for supervisors. The method used is research and development (R&D) with a 4D model defined, designed, developed, and disseminated. The research subjects involved 20 school supervisors, 218 principals, and 314 teachers. Data collection techniques employed interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used the qualitative analysis techniques (interviews) and quantitative analysis (statistics). The results showed that this assessment instrument is an excellent category with an average score of 4.21. This assessment consists of three assessor components: school supervisors, teachers, and school principals. This assessment instrument can be the latest guideline for supervisors who will evaluate the performance of school principals and teachers, so the evaluation carried out is effective, efficient, and optimal in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The transformation of post-pandemic learning at Indonesian universities is becoming increasingly diverse. Several universities use hybrid learning models to implement hybrid learning practices. The purpose of this study is to assess the hybrid learning process at two Indonesian universities. The context input process product (CIPP) evaluation model is used in this study as part of a mixed method. Quantitative methods are used to get an overview of student and lecturer responses, whereas qualitative methods are used to dig deeper into data about hybrid learning practices. This study included 341 students and 22 lecturers from both universities. Techniques for collecting data include questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data was analyzed using learning theories. The study’s findings indicate that hybrid learning practices are performing well. The readiness of university infrastructure, as well as the readiness of students and lecturers, determines the success of hybrid learning implementation. In practice, however, some lecturers tend to use face-to-face or online learning practices exclusively to fill gaps in the hybrid learning process. This study suggests that universities investigate an effective model for implementing hybrid learning.
