Abstract

Demping, as a tourist village located in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, has a variety of exciting tourism potential, both natural and religious. The lives of people who are predominantly Hindu still adhere to customs and various activities of religious traditions that are in synergy with their natural beauty. One thing that attracts attention is the public's trust in Sudamala's story. Sudamala tells the story of Durga, ugly and evil until she becomes the beautiful and kind Goddess Uma. Starting from this story, this research attempts to develop it into a children's theater performance by highlighting the values of the Sudamala story. The approach used is a deconstruction perspective from "sanggit" reinterpretation, namely, re-understanding the meanings contained in the story of the Sudamala text with a new meaning. Through this analysis, we can understand in depth the contents of Sudamala's literary works, which are then worked out skillfully in the theatrical work of Buta Grana Ireng children. In the end, the reinterpretation of sanggit in the theatrical performance of the Buta Grana Ireng children was generally able to increase the appreciation of the new theatrical work from the reinterpretation of the Sudamala story at the Sukuh temple and became a new performance work in the Demping Tourism Village.

Abstract

This article offers an interpretation of performance artworks that serve as representations of local identity and values in the period of Indonesian new media artists. By emphasizing on local identity, this article seeks to reveal how artists respond to global challenges through artworks while capturing the aesthetics and values prevailing throughout Nusantara (the Indonesian archipelago). Additionally, this research offers an analysis of the timeline and geographic distribution of performers from the standpoint of the growth of new media art. Data were collected using a variety of methods, including observation, interview, and literature review involving both historical archives and literary works. Findings indicate that the two periods of performance art history, i.e. the early era and the digital age, are historically and geographically separated. Even if globalization has affected arts, local identity has never really disappeared during this time; in fact, it is growing stronger. Representations of the archipelago is a sign of the new emerging artists’ presence in the contemporary international art scene. The influence of local identity in artworks, however, is no longer debatable and can reflect an artist's self-identification.

Abstract

Korupsi adalah masalah serius yang dapat menghancurkan integritas dan pembangunan suatu negara. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, penting untuk memulai upaya pencegahan sejak dini, termasuk melibatkan anak-anak sebagai generasi masa depan yang berintegritas. Dalam, kampanye "Ular Tangga AKSI" diimplementasikan di SDN 11 Jimbaran, Bali, dengan fokus pada anak-anak sekolah dasar.Kampanye ini dirancang untuk mengajarkan anak-anak tentang arti pentingnya antikorupsi, serta memberikan pemahaman tentang etika, kejujuran, dan transparansi. Melalui permainan ular tangga yang interaktif dan edukatif, anak-anak diajak untuk memahami konsep-konsep ini secara menyenangkan. Hasil dari penelitian berdasarkan kuesioner pre-test, post-test, serta kuesioner opini yang responden ikuti menunjukkan bahwa permainan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran mereka tentang korupsi dan mendorong mereka menjadi agen perubahan dalam melawan korupsi melalui pemahaman nilai-nilai integritas dan peran aktif dalam menyebarkan pesan antikorupsi. Dari hasil penelitian yang ada, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kampanye ular tangga AKSI (Antikorupsi) dapat meningkatkan kesadaran anak-anak dalam pemahaman antikorupsi namun kekurangan penelitian ini belum ada sistem untuk memantau perilaku responden ke depannya.   Corruption is a serious problem that can undermine the integrity and development of a country. To address this issue, it is important to start prevention efforts early, including involving children as the future generation of integrity. In the "Ular Tangga AKSI" campaign implemented in Jimbaran, Bali, the focus is on elementary school children. This campaign is designed to teach children about the importance of anti-corruption and provide an understanding of ethics, honesty, and transparency. Through interactive and educational snake and ladder games, children are invited to understand these concepts in a fun way. The results of the research, based on pre-test and post-test questionnaires, as well as opinion surveys conducted with the respondents, indicate that this game is effective in enhancing their awareness of corruption and motivating them to become agents of change in the fight against corruption through an understanding of the values of integrity and an active role in spreading anti-corruption messages. From the existing research findings, it can be concluded that the AKSI (Anti-Corruption) snakes and ladders campaign can increase children's awareness of anti-corruption understanding. However, a limitation of this research is the absence of a system to monitor the respondents.

Abstract

This research focuses on the representation of feminism in the film Copyist Cahaya. This film is an interesting study to study because the content in the film contains survivors of sexual violence described by Suryani as a real manifestation of women's struggle for justice and gender equality that she is able to provide evidence of the abuse she experienced. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to represent feminism in the film Pengalin Cahya. This study aims to describe the value of feminism in the Syriac character in the film Pengalin Cahaya. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with a Semiotics analysis approach. The data collection technique used purposive sampling, namely three pieces of the film scene of Copying Cahaya as the primary data. This data analysis technique uses Roland Barthes' semiotics technique which divides semiotics into two stages, namely denotation and connotation. The results of the research in the film Pengalin Cahaya, there is liberal feminism because Suryani is told as a woman who seeks justice starting from herself. Abstract

Packaging is an important element in maintaining food quality and safety. Aisyiyah is a women's organization that exists to support the government in various fields, one of which is the welfare of the people through the Economic and Welfare Council in developing and marketing food that has economic value as tourist souvenirs. The obstacle faced is the weak packaging design. Training and empowerment in visual merchandising design management was carried out for Aisyiyah residents in Karanganyar. Aisyiyah residents as a partnership network of lecturers under LPPMPP ISI Surakarta handle problems with training assistance from the design and postgraduate departments. The strategy chosen for empowerment is ecologically based, using the Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA) Method. In this method, participants are invited to learn to understand the potential and awareness of maintaining environmental safety, and are able to build motivation for EcoDesign creativity. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method emphasizes participant involvement in being able to foster creativity related to the personal potential of traders, building creative interior design abilities, especially related to merchandise image. The results of the empowerment training consist of (1) participants' skills in analyzing packaging design needs for culinary businesses; (2) The creative results of merchandise packaging designs consist of snacks, side dishes, bags, batik in the concept of plastic wrap, paper, and environmentally friendly rattan bags and paper bags. Abstract

                                                                                                              Dalam era teknologi perkembangan ilustrasi pada saat ini sudah sangat pesat. Ilustrasi telah banyak digunakan dalam berbagai produk, salah satunya adalah sampul album musik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji penerapan ilustrasi dalam album musik dari band asal Jepang yang bernama Elfensjón. Band ini merupakan band hasil kerja sama antara komposer Keisuke Kurose dan  ilustrator Kachiru Ishizue yang bergenre Animecore karena memasukan unsur ilustrasi anime dalam musik mereka. Elfensjón menggunakan penggabungan ilustrasi dan musik sebagai media untuk bercerita fantasi. Ilustrasi yang digunakan adalah ilustrasi anime khas Jepang dengan gaya gothic. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Tujuannya adalah sebagai referensi berkarya untuk para ilustrator dan juga masyarakat umum. Hasil penelitian ini adalah menunjukkan bahwa ilustrasi dalam musik dapat menjadi media yang menarik untuk bercerita yang menarik dan juga diminati oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

AbstrakCovid-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) sangat mengkawatirkan bagi sendi umat manusia saat ini di dunia. Usaha untuk menyadarkan pentingnya protokol saat new normal telah banyak dilakukan. Menyadarkan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan tentang pengetahuan virus corona dibutuhkan oleh anak-anak yang juga rentan dengan virus ini. Edukasi pengetahuan tentang virus corona diperlukan bagi anak seperti yang dilakukan oleh HIMPSI (Himpunan Psikologi Indonesia) dengan membuat kartun secara online perlu diapresiasi. Penyadaran virus corona dengan pendekatan kartun pada anak sangat menarik untuk dikaji di tengah maraknya info virus corona dalam bentuk infografis dan motion graphic ataupun iklan layanan masyarakat tentang menjaga protokol kesehatan seperti patuh pada ibu dengan 3M. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menemukan data-data penting dalam melakukan analisis deskriptif. Melalui pendekatan karakter kartun melalui proses mimikri dan retorika visual, untuk menemukan makna karakter Si Korona. Temuan penting untuk menciptakan karakter adalah melalui proses mimikri sebagai metode untuk membangun karakter tokoh utama kartun Si Korona. Watik Ideo dan Luluk N. secara reorika visual berhasil membuat karakter Si Korona yang sederhana agar anak-anak dapat memahami tentang virus corona untuk menyadarkan pemahaman covid-19 pada anak. Kata kunci: Edukasi Anak, Kartun, Si Korona, Virus Corona AbstractCovid-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) is very worrying for the joints of humanity today in the world. Many Covid-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) is very worrying for the joints of humanity today in the world. Many efforts have been made to make the protocols aware of the importance of the new normal. Awareness of the importance of maintaining health about knowledge of the coronavirus is needed by children who are also vulnerable to this virus. Education on knowledge about the coronavirus is needed for children, as done by HIMPSI (Indonesian Psychological Association) making cartoons online needs to be appreciated. Awareness of the coronavirus with a cartoon approach to children is very interesting to study amidst the rise of information on the coronavirus in the form of infographics and motion graphics or public service advertisements about maintaining health protocols such as obeying mothers with 3M. This study uses qualitative methods to find important data in conducting a descriptive analysis. Through a cartoon character approach through mimicry and visual rhetoric processes, to find the meaning of the character Si Corona. An essential finding for creating characters is through the process of mimicry as a method for building the character of the main character of the cartoon Si Corona. Watik Ideo and Luluk N. visually rhetorically succeeded in creating a simple Corona character so that children can understand the corona virus to awaken their children to an understanding of Covid-19. Keywords: Children Education, Cartoon, Corona Virus, Si Korona

Abstract

AbstrakIdol Korea Selatan dalam beberapa dekade terakhir menjadi trend di kalangan generasi muda khususnya di Indonesia sebagai kiblat dalam fashion dan kegiatan beraktivitas. Penggunaan idol korea sebagai duta merek tidak luput menjadi perhatian untuk menjadikan sebagai promosi pada iklan, terutama pada iklan di media televisi maupun media YouTube. Penelitian ini menarik perhatian terhadap pentingnya teks media umum dalam mengevaluasi aspek verbal dan visual terhadap iklan yang memanfaatkan idol Korea Selatan dalam mempromosikan korespondensi di Indonesia. Dalam iklan visual susu Ultra Milk X ITZY, generasi muda digambarkan memiliki kekuatan keberanian, kecerdasan, rasa cinta, keunikan, dan kekuatan dalam citra perempuan di setiap varian rasa susu Ultra Milk. Promosi ini juga dimaksudkan dalam rangka merayakan ulang tahun susu Ultra Milk ke-50. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dalam menemukan data-data yang dilakukan secara analisis deskriptif. Telaah data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Apropriasi Minus One dengan memisahkan komponen pembentuk iklan seperti visual, audio atau musik, dan teks. Temuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan makna interpretasi dari pesan metafora iklan dengan hastag don’t stop your move yang dikampanyekan susu Ultra Milk berkolaborasi dengan idol Korean Pop ITZY sebagai duta merek pada tahun 2022 untuk mendorong generasi muda di Indonesia untuk terus aktif bergerak. Kata Kunci: Apropriasi Minus One, iklan, metafora visual, Susu Ultra Milk X Itzy AbstractIn the last few decades, South Korean idols have become a trend among the younger generation, especially in Indonesia, serving as a reference for fashion and daily activities. The use of Korean idols as brand ambassadors has garnered attention, particularly iin advertisements on television and YouTube. This research highlights the importance of analyzing public media texts to assess the verbal and visual aspects of advertisement that leverage South Korean idols to promote correspondence in Indonesia. In the visual advertisement for Ultra Milk X ITZY, the younger generation is portrayed as having the strengths of courage, intelligence, love, uniqueness, and power in the image of women for each variant of Ultra Milk. This promotion is also intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ultra Milk. The research employs as qualitative research method to gather data, conducting descriptive analysis through the Minus One Appropriation method, which separates the components of the advertisement such as visual, audio or music, and text. The findings of this research explain the interpretative meaning of thee metaphorical messege in the advertisement with the hastag don’t stop your move, which was campaigned by Ultra Milk in collaboration with the K-Pop idol group ITZY as brand ambassadors in 2022. Abstract

Plaosan Temple is a building structure filled with beautiful ornaments and decorations, reliefs, and statues. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the metaphorical aspect of symbolism in the Plaosan temple reliefs, which represent Hindu and Buddhist ideologies. It also aims to understand the iconographic meaning of this structure as a temple building that unites differences for a peaceful purpose. This is a qualitative descriptive and interpretative research with the “minus one” technique used to determine the effect of removing an element of the temple. The hermeneutic-metaphorical interpretive description was used to visualize the ornaments’ symbols and determine the philosophical meaning between the ideological domain of Hindu symbolism and Buddhism. The results showed that the manifestation of love from the Plaosan temple is indicated in its temple’s relief elements and decorated ornaments.

Abstract

 This study describes the interpretation of “Caddy” in the animated film series Shaun the Sheep episodes of “Who’s the Caddy?” The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using a semiotic approach of Charles S. Peirce. The primary data of the film is presented in such a visualization of each scene. Data were analyzed in a descriptive narrative form based on mark classification in the process of signification that takes place in the triadic relationship namely representament, interpretant, and object. This study uses the approach to the concept of the mark that divides a sign into three categories: icons, indices, and symbols by using the concept of triangle meaning. From the results of the meaning of these signs can be drawn a conclusion that this study is interconnected. Based on the data analysis, it can be seen that Caddy in the series of Shaun The Sheep episode “Who’s the Caddy?” is a symbol that is full of messages. The message reflected through scene after scene that is presented by Caddy is an interpretant that refers to the object. In this case, it represents the three main actors in this episode, they are three golfers (Farmer, Shaun and Bitzer), in which each player is Caddy in a different context. Farmer has become a symbol of the Caddy, Shaun as an index and Bitzer as an icon of Caddy. Caddy represents interpretan, figures (Farmer, Shaun, and Bitzer) represent an object while representamen is a game of golf that has a relationship with the characters.
