Abstract

This research aims to analyze the CT  abilities of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota. CT  ability is an ability that students must have and to find out to what extent these CT abilities have developed and been fulfilled by students. This research is a qualitative descriptive research.  The research subjects were all class VIII students, totaling 36 students. The data collect ion techniques used were interviews and tests. The results of this research can be concluded that the high category (KT) subjects can understood the question information correctly in worked on CT  ability questions, can answered questions according to the CT  ability indicators, answer correctly and can also made conclusions  from the answers obtained and check  again. to ensure the  corrected of the answer. Likewise, subjects in the medium category (KS) are quite good at found information from the questions, but do not understood the answers to the questions themselves. Medium category students can also made conclusions from the answers they get. Meanwhile, low category subjects (KR) were unable to understood the questions, found the right information and drew conclusions when solving the CT  ability test questions.

Abstract

Silat Perisai is one of the cultural heritages of the Pucuk Adat, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, which has existed since before the independence of the Republic of Indonesia and since 2017 has been included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This study aims to evaluate the results of ethnomathematical exploration carried out by students of Mathematics Education at Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University in the Silat Perisai movement. This research is a descriptive study with a case study on ethnomathematical exploration in Silat Perisai. Researchers observed the exploration process carried out by students, and evaluated reports on exploration results. Student errors are viewed from two aspects, namely aspects of mathematical concept errors and aspects of ethnomathematical exploration procedures errors. Before carrying out the exploration, the student group first validated the research instruments used, such as observation sheets and interviews. The results showed that the overall level of error in disclosing ethnomathematical concepts of flat shapes reached 50%, which means that students' errors in expressing concepts are still relatively moderate. The procedural error rate in ethnomathematical exploration reaches 40%.

Abstract

Educational management is an activity or series of activities in the form of managing the collaborative efforts of a group of people who are part of an educational organization, to achieve pre-established educational goals, by utilizing existing resources and employing management functions to achieve the goals effectively and efficiently. This research is expected to increase the knowledge about learning management in STAR ENGLISH Course Parepare. By analyzing management strategies that implemented in course, this research provides new insight into effective and efficient management practices in non-formal education. This research employs a qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with director and two senior teachers. Instruments included interview guidelines, observation checklist, and documentation records. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model, comprising data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the steps in preparing lesson plan at STAR EC include determining the learning objectives, learning strategies, and the materials. organizing process consist of task organization between director, teachers, and staff. In the division of tasks within a class, each class has a main teacher and an assistant teacher or an observant teacher. In the learning process, especially during practice sessions, tutors use a strategy of grouping students based on their abilities. the lesson actuating in star ec begins with the teacher open the class and delivering the material during the first 30 minutes. In the next 30 minutes, the teacher conducts exercise for students using the material that been taught that day. The last 30 minutes are used for playing games and conducting a final test. In learning actuating process in classroom, the teacher faces several challenges and the teachers have their own ways of coping these challenges. Coaching that conducted in SEC is divided into several parts which are holds briefing regularly to ensure teachers’ performance is stay on track in teaching, and evaluate teachers’ performance. And then becoming an observant teacher, moreover monitoring by the director, and asking for feedback. The evaluation for students is generally conducted through two types of tests: formative and summative. Evaluation is also conducted for the teachers, where the director discusses the teacher’s performance with senior teachers. Additionally, students are involved in evaluating teacher by providing their feedback.

Abstract

The achievement of English listening skills among students still requires serious attention, with many students finding these skills difficult due to various factors, including lack of practice and motivation. This study aims to measure students' level of motivation in learning English listening skills independently. The methodology used was a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey design, involving 28 students from the English Education study program at Parepare State Islamic Institute. Data was collected through a questionnaire consisting of 11 statements using a Likert scale. The results showed that the majority of students were highly motivated in learning English listening skills independently, driven by their ability to set personal learning goals and access to a variety of engaging resources, including materials and media. Nonetheless, some students showed challenges in time management and lack of external support, which may hinder their motivation. These findings underscore the importance of creating a supportive learning environment and utilizing technology to improve students' motivation and learning outcomes in English listening skills.

Abstract

This research was aimed at doing preliminary analysis in developing students’s worksheet based on problem solving. It uses Plomp’s model, consists of three phases. The first phase is analysis; need analysis, students analysis, curriculum analysis, concepts’ analysis and the existing teaching material’s analysis. It was found in the preliminary research that students’ worksheet that involve students’ critical thinking in the learning process is the teacher’s treatment to stimulate students’ skill in problem solving. Students’ work sheet problem based learning is the alternative to help the students to gain the students’ skill in problem solving.

Abstract

Abstract

This Community Service project aimed to introduce and enhance understanding of deep learning in mathematics education among elementary school teachers. The program also facilitated the use of Quizizz platform ti help teachers create interactive and engaging assessment experiences. Considering that elementary education serves as the foundational stage for students' future mathematical competence, this initiative seeks to empower teachers to establish meaningful and effective learning experiences. The program not only promotes deeper conceptual understanding among students but also encourages the development of essential 21st-century skills, often referred to as the 4Cs: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Attended by 30 teachers, the program combined conceptual learning with practical implementation. Results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of deep learning and their ability to use Quizizz effectively. The initiative also fostered teacher enthusiasm and commitment to applying these approaches in the classroom. This program is expected to contribute positively to the development of meaningful learning environments and the cultivation of students’ 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration.
