Abstract

The writing attempts to analyze the functions or roles of language during the integration process of Indonesia. It raises a question on how the process of Indonesian language is modified and adopted into a language of unity functioning as the glue that holds the ethnic diversity. The article aims at discovering the process of modification and adoption of Indonesian language into the language of unity which is adaptable to the era changes. Theoretical background employed in the analysis is Functional-Anthropology Theory developed by two British anthropologists, Bronislaw Malinowski and Radcliffe Brown. The results conclude that Indonesian language possess special characteristics which are different from other languages because it has its roots in local ethnics. If Indonesian language is permanently to be  language of unity, it is necessary to conduct socialization and inheritance. The socialization of Standard Indonesian language is massively and continuously conducted by TVRI or private television stations using standard language in their programs. The function of Indonesian language as the language of unity for Indonesian people has created language phenomenon and political phenomenon, side by side, in this case language politics. As a suggestion, continuous socialization and inheritance is necessary to be conducted due to the potency of Standard Indonesian language as one element in preserving the integration of Indonesia. ABSTRAK Tulisan ini berusaha mengkaji fungsi atau peran bahasa dalam proses integrasi Bangsa Indonesia. Tulisan ini mengangkat permasalahan, yaitu bagaimana proses Bahasa Indonesia dimodifikasi dan diadopsi menjadi bahasa persatuan yang berfungsi sebagai perekat keberagaman etnik? Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah berusaha menjawab permasalahan bagaimana proses Bahasa Indonesia dimodifikasi dan diadopsi menjadi bahasa persatuan sehingga bisa beradaptasi dengan perubahan jaman. Landasan teori yang digunakan dalam melakukan analisis di sini adalah teori antropologi-fungsional yang dikembangkan oleh dua antropolog Inggris yaitu Bronislaw Malinowski dan Radcliffe Brown. Hasi bahasan menunjukkan bahwa Bahasa Indonesia memiliki karakter khusus yang berbeda dengan bahasabahasa bangsa lain karena Bahasa Indonesia berakar dari tradisi etnik lokal. Apabila Bahasa Indonesia tetap diperlukan sebagai bahasa yang bisa menjaga integrasi negara Indonesia maka harus ada sosialisasi dan pewarisan. Sosialisasi Bahasa Indonesia baku secara massal dan berkesinambungan misalnya dilakukan oleh TVRI atau TV-TV swasta yang menggunakan bahasa baku dalam siarannya. Bahasa Indonesia yang difungsikan sebagai bahasa persatuan bagi masyarakat Indonesia telah menciptakan fenomena bahasa berdampingan dengan fenomena politik, dalam hal ini adalah politik-kebahasaan. Sebagai saran, bahwa Bahasa Indonesia baku bisa menjadi salah satu unsur dalam menjaga integrasi Bangsa Indonesia, maka harus dilakukan sosialisasi dan pewarisan yang tiada henti.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tradisi begalan adalah salah satu tradisi pernikahan yang ada pada masyarakat Kabupaten Banyumas yang sarat akan makna dan nasehat bagi pasangan pengantin yang baru saja menikah. Sanggar Sekar Kantil sebagai salah satu sanggar yang masih melestarikan sekaligus tempat bernaung bagi beberapa pelaku tradisi begalan yang ada di Kabupaten Banyumas memiliki pandangan baru terhadap tradisi begalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Proses pelaksanaan tradisi begalan oleh sanggar Sekar Kantil terdiri dari dua tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan dan tahap pelaksanaan. Tahap persiapan dilakukan oleh pelaku tradisi begalan untuk mempersiapkan segala sesuatu yang dibutuhkan dalam pelaksanaan tradisi begalan. Tahap pelaksaaan merupakan tahap dimana pelaku tradisi begalan melaksanakan pementasan tradisi begalan pada pernikahan masyarakat Banyumas. 2) Redefinisi makna tradisi begalan yang diberikan oleh sanggar Sekar Kantil terhadap tradisi begalan adalah pada arti tradisi begalan yang sebelumnya berasal dari kata begal yang artinya rampok menjadi besan gawa lantaran. Redefinisi juga diberikan kepada nama pelaku tradisi begalan yaitu danabau dan juru mertani serta penjelasan ubo rampe tradisi begalan yang dilaksanakan oleh sanggar Sekar kantil menggunakan sanepan atau othak athik gathuk.Kata kunci: Tradisi Begalan, Makna, Sanggar ABSTRACT Begalan tradition is one of the marriage traditions that exist in the Banyumas Regency society which is full of meaning and advice for newly married brides. Sekar Kantil Studio as one of the studios that still preserves as well as acting as a shelter for a number of performers of the begalan tradition in Banyumas Regency has a new view of the begalan tradition. The results of the research show that: 1) The process of implementing the begalan tradition by the Sekar Kantil studio consists of two stages: the preparatory stage and the implementation stage. The preparatory stage is carried out by the performers of the begalan tradition to prepare everything needed in the implementation of the begalan tradition. The implementation stage is the stage where the performers of traditions carry out the performance of traditions at the Banyumas community wedding. 2) The redefinition of the meaning of the tradition given by the Sekar Kantil studio to the tradition is that the tradition is derived from the word “begal” which means “robber” into “besan gawa lantaran”. Redefinition was also given to the names of performers of the begalan tradition, Danabau and Juru mertani, and also the explanation of the ubo rampe of the tradition carried out by the Sekar Kantil studio using sanepan or othak atihk gathuk.Keywords: Begalan Tradition, Meaning, Studio

Abstract

This paper explains about language function with functionalism approach. In general eth- nic group is known as a tribe or community with the same identity or tradition. Identity of the ethnic group includes patterns of kinship, marital, religion, home architecture, settle- ment, language etc. Language is one of the identity and becomes a collective identity of ethnic. But language can be a nation identity not just an ethnic identity. One of the charac- teristic of Indonesia is Bahasa Indonesia as a national identity or national language. The mass media like television broadcasting (TVRI and private TV) are the important channels to promote the socialization of using Bahasa Indonesia correctly. Abstract

ABSTRAK. Rewang merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan masyarakat untuk membantu salah satu tetangga apabila sedang mengadakan acara pesta pernikahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis bagaimana pelaksanaan tradisi rewang dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak tradisi rewang sebagai modal sosial mampu meningkatkan solidaritas antar masyarakat multietnis di Desa Sumberjaya. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses pelaksanaannya tradisi rewang memiliki susunan kepanitiaan dan pembagian kerja. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari modal sosial. Modal sosial yang terdiri dari tiga komponen yaitu: kepercayaan (trust), norma (norms) dan jaringan (networks) dalam tradisi rewang ini mampu menunjukkan dampaknya bagi masyarakat Desa Sumberjaya. Modal sosial seharusnya (das sollen) dapat membentuk solidaritas yang memungkinkan individu menjalin hubungan sosial. Solidaritas sosial ini diwujudkan dalam solidaritas sosial organik dan mekanik. Namun fungsi tradisi rewang dalam perkembangann selanjutnya ternyata (das sein) tidak lagi sebagai modal sosial jadi hanya semacam penopang kebutuhan tuan rumah. Perubahan makna tradisi rewang juga terjadi karena munculnya jasa catering dan pandangan masyarakat terhadap tradisi rewang yang hanya sebatas sumbangan.Kata Kunci: Multietnis, Modal Sosial, Budaya KerjaABSTRACT. Rewang is one of the activities carried out by the society to help one of the neighbors when holding a wedding party. This study aims to describe dan analyze how the implementation of rewang tradition and to find out how the impact of rewang tradition as social capital is able to increase solidarity between multiethnic societies in Sumberjaya Village. Researcher uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that in the implementation process of rewang tradition has a committee structure and division of work. This is inseparable from social capital. Social capital which consists of three components, which are trust, norms and networks in rewang tradition, is able to show its impact on the people of Sumberjaya Village. Social capital is should (das sollen) to be able to form solidarity that allows individuals to establish social relationships. This social solidarity is manifested in organic and mechanical social solidarity. However, the function of rewang tradition in the next development it turns out is no longer as social capital, so it is only a kind of support for Jurnal Budaya Etnika, Vol. 6 No. 2 Desember 2022 82 the needs of the host. The changes meaning of rewang tradition also occurred due to the emergence of catering services and the public's view of rewang tradition which was only limited to sumbangan.Keywords: Multietnic, Social Capital, Work Culture

Abstract

This study aims to discuss social values of political-economic activities in the community that lives in a village located on the state border and to study the narration of the community toward the existence of the state. This research uses a qualitative method, and the data is collected through observation and interview. The research location is in Sungai Limau Village, Sebatik Tengah District, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan Province. This paper shows that in Sebatik Island, especially in Sungai Limau Village, there is a change in the environment . There are many banana trees in that village. In the beginning, bananas are considered to have low economic value. But then, there is a creative idea from one of the local people, which is initiating a processed banana. After being processed, bananas turn out to have higher economic value. They see a marketing opportunity in Tawau City, Sabah, Malaysia, across the state border, and it is hard for them to go through the border. For the local people, the state border is no longer considered a ‘sacred area’ and forbidden to enter. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the environment may seem to have limitations in fulfilling people's needs, but then, there is actually hidden potential of natural resources that can be processed to meet their needs.

Abstract

Agrarian conflict often occurs when two or more concerned parties have different interests in the same land. This study aims to analyzing the conflict between PT. NJL and PT. Adindo. The research employed qualitative method, the location in Sei Menggaris, Nunukan, North Kalimantan was carried out in August 2020. The results showed that the status of area, which has the permit of Cultivation Right owned by PT. NJL for an area of 17,000 hectares, there is an area of 3,510 hectares for Industrial Plantation Forest overlaps with the Business Permit that has already been owned by PT. Adindo which is engaged in the industrial plantation forest. As conclusion, a resolution that did not harm all parties, including workers. An agreement was reached that an area of approximately 2,800 ha which was not the object of the conflict and had been cultivated into oil palm plantations by PT. NJL would be continued so that local people would not lose their jobs.

Abstract

Usually in the oil mining area was exploited by oil company that under licensed from the state. Nevertheless on an oil mining field in East Java Province in Indonesia there is people oil mining that exploited and distributed by the people. They are working on the people oil mining area. Working is a phenomenon inherent to adults in satisfying their needs. People work for a multitude of motivation. Working may lead a particular worker to occupy certain social status within the society. This paper aims to examine the phenomenon of people working in the oil distribution link from people oil mining  to consumer. More specifically, this study aims to describe the impacts of working in the oil mining on the miners’ social and economic life. The method used in this research is ethnography. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, note taking, and recording. The location of research is in a petroleum artisanal mining area in East Java Province. The results showed that the impact of working in the oil distribution link from people oil mining to consumer is the generation of income used to meet the basic needs, to purchase personal means of transportation, to purchase some piece of land, and to pay for the children’s education.Biasanya ladang minyak dieksploitasi perusahaan yang memperolehy ijin dari negara. Akan tetapi ada ladang minyak di Jawa Timur yang dieksploitasi oleh masyarakat. Mereka bekerja pada ladang seperti  itu. Pekerja memiliki motivasi bermacam-macam dalam pekerjaanya. Bekerja membantu seseorang memperoleh status tertentu dalam masyarakat. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menelaah fenomena pekerja ladang minyak. Pertanyaan yang ingin dijawab dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengapa orang bekerja di ladang minyak?; (2) bagaimana kesejahteraan mereka?; dan (3) bagaimana pengaruh bekerja di ladang minyak pada kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi para pekerja?. Penelitian menggunakan metode etnografi. Penelitian dilakukan di Jawa Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan yang diperoleh digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar, membeli alat transportasi pribadi, membeli tanah dan membayar pendidikan anak.

Abstract

The good and bad of the nation's generation are determined by the personal formation of their respective families. Most families who are beneficiaries of the Jaya Mulia Village Family Hope Program have a background as laborers, so families have to work hard to meet basic needs and neglect their children's education. This study aims to determine the role and constraints faced in children's education and the benefits of the “Program Keluarga Harapan” assistance in the education component. The research uses qualitative methods and data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed four kinds of parental roles: modeling, mentoring, organizing, and teaching. However, not all parents carry out their role because there are several obstacles such as limited time, education level, and the social environment's influence. One of the efforts made by the government to improve the quality of education is through PKH. PKH not only assists in the form of cash but also provides training, guidance and motivation to parents in providing better care, protection and education for their children. This research is expected to contribute ideas to the community that parents have greater responsibilities.

Abstract

Bahasa Jawa dialek Pekalongan merupakan bahasa yang digunakan dan dituturkan oleh masyarakat Kecamatan Comal. Hal tersebut berbeda dari induk wilayah yakni Pemalang yang menggunakan dialek ngapak Tegal dan Banyumas. Perbedaan dialek tersebut menyebabkan konstruksi identitas masyarakat Comal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Mengetahui cara konstruksi identitas diri pada generasi muda Comal. 2) Mengetahui alasan dan faktor konstruksi identitas diri generasi muda Comal. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Comal. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah generasi muda Comal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Konstruksi Identitas yang terjadi pada generasi muda Comal disebabkan dua hal. Pertama Comal sebagai wilayah borderland baik secara administrasi wilayah maupun sebagai borderland Jawa kulon dengan Jawa wetan. Ke-dua, adanya kondisi less identity atau kekurangan identitas pada generasi muda Comal. 2) Konstruksi identitas yang dilakukan generasi muda Comal diwujudkan dalam dua bentuk. Pertama memunculkan identitas lokal yang dinamakan wong Comal dan Ke-dua menggunakan Basa Comalan.

Abstract

Perilaku masyarakat di tengah pandemi telah mengakibatkan kerentanan sosial. Hal ini ditandai dengan guncangan pada community resilience akibat perilaku sosial yang kontradiktif dan menimbulkan friksi lanjutan. Dalam situasi ini, sistem pendidikan kita dinilai gagal menghasilkan SDM dengan keseimbangan aspek IQ, EQ dan SQ. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sebab munculnya perbedaaan perilaku sosial di tengah pandemi dan menunjukan posisi strategis pendidikan. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode kualitatif fenomenologi. Pengambilan data menggunakan tehnik dokumentasi melalui data mining media sosial, observasi dan studi literatur. Analisis data memanfaatkan sentimen analisis dengan bantuan software orange.bioloab.si. Subjek bersifat purposive sampling. Analisis teoritik mengggunakan:1). cognitive perspectives Kurt Lewin serta, 2). teori Brofenbenner. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa 2 pandangan ini sama-sama menjelaskan kaitan antara lingkungan mental personal individu dengan lingkungan sosialnya. Posisi sekolah dan sistem pendidikan sebagai mesosystem dan exosytem yang mempengaruhi proses mental dalam diri individu dalam menghadapi Pandemi. Pendidikan Lingkungan Sosial dapat direkomendasikan sebagai reorientasi pelaksanaan pendidikan pasca pandemi dengan tujuan membantu individu atau kelompok masyarakat untuk memperbaiki regulasi emosi, pengendalian impuls, optimisme, empati, kemampuan menganalisis masalah, efikasi diri dan peningkatan aspek positif yang diperlukan untuk membangun kemampuan resiliensi.
