Abstract

This study aims to develop a big book learning media based on local folklore with the help of the Canva application, and to evaluate student responses and its feasibility. This big book is based on local legends, uses Indonesian, and presents relevant images to attract students' interest in learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, but only three stages are applied: Analysis, Design, and Development. At the analysis stage, pre-research was conducted at the UPTD SPF SDN Cibubukan, where interviews with grade I teachers revealed that learning Indonesian was less interesting for students. At the design stage, the researcher designed a big book using Canva, and at the development stage, the big book media was validated by material experts, media experts, and teachers. The validation results showed a feasibility score of 95% from material experts, 94% from media experts, and 95% from teachers, all of whom concluded that this media was very suitable for use in learning. The big book media developed can be applied as an initial step in the teaching and learning process, indicating that this folklore-based big book is very suitable for use in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

This study aims to produce scratch-based learning media in science lessons to be applied to learning in elementary schools and to determine the feasibility of scratch-based learning media in science lessons developed. The research method used in this study is the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. This study uses a validation sheet research instrument in the form of a questionnaire or questionnaire. The subject of this study is scratch-based learning media, the object of this study is learning materials that meet the needs and there are four expert studies or validators, namely media experts, material experts, teacher responses, and student responses in elementary schools. The results of this research are in the form of scratch-based learning media products to improve student learning outcomes in science lessons which are included in the "Very Feasible" category according to the results of validation of media experts, material experts, teacher responses, and student responses. Media experts obtained a percentage score of 85%, material experts obtained a percentage score of 77.3%, teacher responses obtained a percentage score of 87%, and student responses obtained a percentage score of 89% which is included in the range of 80%-100% which indicates a very feasible category. Based on the results of validation by the four validators of media experts, material experts, teacher responses, and student responses in elementary schools, it can be concluded that the learning media with scratch to improve student learning outcomes in science lessons developed is very feasible to be used in learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical problem solving ability of students in terms of Adversity Quotient through the application of Problem Based Learning model in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Delitua. This type of research uses qualitative research with descriptive type. The subjects used in this study amounted to 6 students, namely 2 subjects with high ability, 2 subjects with medium ability, and 2 subjects with low ability. The data collection techniques used were observation sheets, Adversity Quotient questionnaires, problem solving ability tests, interviews and documentation. Data processing and analysis using the Miles and Huberman technique which consists of 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model was effectively applied to the mathematical problem solving ability of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Delitua marked by the fulfillment of all indicators of students' mathematical problem solving ability. The mathematical problem solving ability of students with the climber type in the very good category, the camper type in the good category and the quitters type in the less category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterlibatan belajar peserta didik melalui Problem Based Learning terintegrasi teknologi pada pembelajaran Matematika di kelas V-A UPT SDN 064986 Medan Amplas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dan dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus penelitian. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V-A UPT SDN 064986 Medan Amplas dengan jumlah 16 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 6 peserta didik laki-laki dan 10 peserta didik perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 siklus dengan 4 tahapan meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Problem Based Learning terintegrasi teknologi terbukti mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran Matematika di kelas V-A UPT SDN 064986 Medan Amplas. Pada prasiklus persentase keberhasilan PTK sebesar 40,63% berada pada kriteria rendah. Setelah dilaksanakan siklus 1 persentase keberhasilan PTK sebesar 63,28% berada pada kriteria sedang. Peningkatan terjadi pada siklus 2 dengan persentase keberhasilan PTK sebesar 84,77% berada pada kriteria tinggi. Dengan demikian, guru berperan memfasilitasi keterlibatan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran dengan memilih model pembelajaran dan terus meningkatkan kompetensinya dalam memanfaatkan teknologi agar mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang relevan bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam evaluasi pembelajaran melalui penggunaan media digital Quizizz di kelas V-A SDN 064986 Medan Amplas. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses evaluasi konvensional yang bersifat monoton dan kurang menarik. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 16 siswa kelas V-A. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, angket, dokumentasi, dan tes evaluasi menggunakan media Quizizz. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Keberhasilan tindakan ditentukan jika minimal 75% siswa menunjukkan partisipasi aktif, dan terdapat peningkatan partisipasi minimal 20% dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Quizizz mampu meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam evaluasi pembelajaran. Pada pra-siklus, hanya 6 siswa (37,5%) yang menunjukkan partisipasi aktif. Setelah tindakan dilakukan, partisipasi meningkat menjadi 10 siswa (62,5%) pada siklus I, dan 14 siswa (87,5%) pada siklus II. Rata-rata nilai evaluasi siswa juga meningkat dari 61 (pra-siklus) menjadi 73 (siklus I) dan 86 (siklus II). Selain itu, angket persepsi siswa menunjukkan hasil positif dengan skor rata-rata 4,4, yang mencerminkan bahwa siswa merasa lebih termotivasi dan senang dengan evaluasi menggunakan Quizizz.

Abstract

Purpose -This study aims to address the challenges of teaching astronomy in higher education, particularly in institutions with limited observational infrastructure and urban light pollution. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Stellarium, a digital planetarium application, in enhancing students' conceptual understanding of astronomy concepts in Physics Education.Methodology - A quasi-experimental research design was employed, utilizing a pretest-posttest control group format. The sample consisted of 30 undergraduate students enrolled in the astronomy course, who were purposively selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research procedure involved the development of Stellarium-integrated instructional materials, the implementation of teaching interventions, and the administration of pretests and post-tests to assess conceptual understanding. Additional instruments included a questionnaire to capture students' perceptions and documentation of classroom activities. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, independent sample tests, and descriptive statistics.Findings - The results of the initial and final trials showed a significant increase in the experimental group's understanding of astronomical concepts. In contrast, the control group showed minimal improvement. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group's test scores, with an average gain of 16.6 points (p < 0.05). Students also expressed highly positive perceptions of Stellarium in terms of visual appeal, ease of use, learning motivation, and comprehension of celestial motion. These results suggest that Stellarium is an effective pedagogical tool for enhancing conceptual understanding of astronomy and fostering student engagement.Contribution- The study contributes to the growing body of research on simulation-based learning and offers practical insights into integrating digital technologies in science education, particularly in resource-constrained institutions. It also offers a model for adapting global digital tools to local educational contexts, thereby supporting curriculum innovation in Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the TGT model on student learning activity in civics learning in grade IV of SD IT RAHMAT Marindal. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research design used is One Group Pretest-Postest. The subjects in this study were material experts, namely lecturers, grade IV teachers at SD IT RAHMAT Marindal To determine the response to the feasibility of the Teams Games Tournament learning model on student activity in civics subjects. The object of this study is the Teams Games Tournament Learning Model on the material of my country Indonesia. This learning model is designed to help students understand the learning material. The results of this study are based on the average student learning scores, it was obtained that student learning activity in civics subjects increased using the Teams Games Tournament learning model on the material of my country Indonesia in grade IV of SDIT RAHMAT Marindal in the 2024/2025 academic year. From the results of the study, it was obtained that student learning activity in civics subjects increased using the Teams Games Tournament learning model on the material of my country Indonesia in grade IV of SD IT RAHMAT Marindal. This can be seen from the increase in the average number of students who completed meeting 1 and meeting II, namely from 1 (4.76%) students who completed meeting 1 to 19 (90.48%) students who completed meeting 2 of the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) menggunakan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Dalam desain ini, satu kelompok siswa diberikan tes sebelum perlakuan (pretest), kemudian diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL), dan setelah itu diberikan tes kembali (posttest) untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis mereka. sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik dari kelas VIII-1 di SMPN 3 Mandrehe Barat yang berjumlah 19 siswa pada materi statistika. Data hasil tes kemudian dianalisis dengan dilakukan uji normalitas data menggunakan uji Shapiro-Wilk. Jika data berdistribusi normal, maka digunakan uji t-pasangan (paired sample t-test) untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttes. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini, Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelas yang mengikuti pembelajaran TGT mengalami peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan penalaran matematis dari 14,06% menjadi 66,22%, dan komunikasi matematis dari 20,73% menjadi 61,26%. Terdapat pula hubungan yang erat antara kedua kemampuan tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh strategi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams-Games-Tournaments (TGT) terhadap kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada rendahnya kedua kemampuan tersebut di SMP Negeri 28 Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group, melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol, yang masing-masing berjumlah 25 orang dan dipilih secara acak. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan strategi TGT, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematis dari 60% menjadi 85% pada kelas eksperimen. Selain itu, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kedua kemampuan tersebut. Strategi TGT terbukti efektif dan direkomendasikan sebagai pendekatan inovatif dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the open-ended learning strategy on students’ multiple mathematical representation and problem-solving abilities in junior high school mathematics. A quasi-experimental method employing a pretest–posttest control group design was implemented with two classes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 28 Medan. The experimental group received open-ended learning, while the control group received direct instruction. Data were collected through tests of multiple mathematical representation and problem-solving ability, complemented by classroom observations. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Mann–Whitney U test, the independent samples t-test, and Spearman’s rank correlation.The results revealed that students taught using the open-ended learning strategy achieved higher posttest scores in both multiple representation and problem-solving abilities compared to those taught through direct instruction. A statistically significant difference was found in problem-solving ability (p = 0.001), while representational ability showed a positive but nonsignificant trend. Moreover, a significant positive correlation (r = 0.367, p = 0.003*) was found between students’ multiple representation and problem-solving abilities. These findings indicate that open-ended learning promotes higher-order thinking by enabling students to explore diverse solution strategies, construct meaning through multiple representations, and engage in reflective reasoning. The study highlights the pedagogical potential of open-ended learning as an effective approach to fostering conceptual understanding and creative mathematical thinking aligned with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum.
