Abstract

Currently, the process of roasting peanuts in the North Tapanuli Regency area is still done manually. This will result in fatigue for the operator. To improve this condition, a roasting machine is needed to facilitate the roasting process. The peanut roaster machine that was designed in this study has a roasting tube as the main component with an electric motor as the prime mover. In addition there is a shaft, gearbox stirrer and clutch. The results of this design obtained power of prime mover and tube rotation of 1/2 hp and 28 rpm. The machine use a ceramic gas stove as heater. The experimental results show the machine can operate properly. The time needed to roast 10 kg of peanuts is 1 hour. BEP units obtained as much as 810 kg. The maintenance is carried out by cleaning and providing lubricant especially on the gearbox.

Abstract

Abstrak Pemasaran digital merupakan salah satu strategi yang cukup diminati oleh bisnis saat ini, termasuk usaha kecil dan menengah terutama yang bergerak dalam bisnis makanan dan minuman. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan oleh dosen-dosen Politeknik Negeri Medan dan berkolaborasi dengan dosen-dosen dari Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia bertujuan untuk mengimpelementasikan pemasaran digital pada Kafe Tenank yang ada di Kota Medan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dimulai dengan pemaparan materi tentang digital marketing oleh pemateri sekaligus penulis buku dilanjutkan dengan implementasi langsung mengenai pemasaran digital. Metode pemasaran digital yang diimplementasikan melibatkan influencer kuliner yaitu Medan.Kulineran. Data yang digunakan untuk pemasaran digital adalah lokasi, menu, harga dan testimoni dari para pelanggan yang telah menikmati jasa dan produk di Kafe Tenank. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah konten digital yang dipublikasikan ke media sosial influencer Medan. Kulineran dan berkolaborasi dengan media sosial Kafe Tenank dan juga dibagikan oleh Politeknik Negeri Medan. Implementasi pemasaran digital diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan pelanggan ke Kafe Tenank dan menjadi branding untuk pelayanan di Kafe Tenank. Pada akhirnya, peningkatkan jumlah pengunjung dengan semakin dikenalnya Kafe Tenank, dapat berdampak pada peningkatan pendapatannya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mendapatkan tingkat kesiapan mahasiswa dalam mengikuti sertifikasi profesi pada bidang pengelasan SMAW untuk kriteria pengelasan pipa pada posisi PA dan HLO45 dimana sampel yang diamati berasal dari hasil pengelasan 8 mahasiswa semester 6 Program Studi Teknik Mesin konsentrasi Teknik Produksi dan dari hasil penelitian ini didapat persentase mahasiswa yang kompeten pada posisi pengelasan tersebut dengan standar pengelasan TWI, dalam bentuk visual test, dan bending test. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa pada posisi pengelasan PA hanya 25% yang diterima sedangkan pada posisi pengelasan HLO45 yang sebenarnya lebih sulit secara teori 75% diterima.

Abstract

Currently, ruminant livestock, poultry and fish are increasingly using processed feed. It occurs due to the nutritional content can be adjusted to the needs. A lot of livestock will require a lot of feed, so a tool is needed that can mass produce the required feed. This processed feed is a mixture of several components that can be purchased individually. A motorized mixer is needed to save time and energy while reducing costs. The existing mixer has several shortcomings, such as the absence of a water supply device, a mixture that cannot be poured and a mixing spoon in the form of a flat plate so that the splint is less strong and the mixing process tends to be longer. The resulting prototype has a water supply pump, a pourable mixture, and an elbow-shaped agitator. Observations of the experimental results showed that the agitator material could move more toward the end so that the mixing process was faster. The mixed material became homogeneous in 5 minutes and perfect in the 10th minute for all experiments conducted.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara tropis yang memiliki iklim yang baik untuk pertanian. Di Indonesia terdapat dua musim yaitu musim panas dan musim hujan. Hasil pertanian tentunya negara yang mayoritas agraris dan memiliki zona iklim tropis Jamur merupakan tumbuhan alami yang tidak mengandung klorofil. Dimana pada alat terjadi dua jenis perpindahan panas yaitu secara radiasi dan konveksi. Perancangan alat dilakukan dengan langkah pertama yaitu membuat kerangka, rangka utama berukuran 1443 x 2379 x 1254 mm dan kolektor berukuran 1014 x 500 x 35 mm, kemudian untuk menyusun kolektor mulai dari ACP, styrofoam, rockwoll, plat absorber, dan ditutup dengan kaca, dan rak penampung yang berukuran 500 x 400 x 35 mm. dimana prinsip kerja mesin yaitu mengalirkan panas yang telah diserap melalui kolektor tepat nya pada plat absorber dan dialirkan kedalam ruang pengering. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian maka disimpulkan bahwa rak ke 4 merupakan rak yang paling cepat panas dengan kadar air yang tersisa 2,94 %, dan rak 1 merupakan rak yang paling lambat panas dengan kadar air yang tersisa 22,87 %.

Karang Anyar Village with an area of ​​4.63 km2 and a population of 9,366 apart from farming, the residents are also cultivating ornamental fish species of koi fish in ponds/ponds which are formed side by side with rice fields by utilizing good irrigation around the pond, including Mr. Hendrayen as this service partner currently has land for a fish pond of 2.4 hectares with fish pellets as the main feed which currently relies heavily on factory-made fish feed, the price of which is not affordable by most farmers in Karang Anyar Village with the need for pellets. per day for 36 kg, for that the service implementation team carried out activities in the form of demonstrations on the use of pellet molding machines, training on the use of pellet molding machines and their maintenance as well as machine handover which during demonstrations, the machine was able to produce 50 kg of pellets every hour with cylindrical pellets of diameter 3 mm long and 4 mm long

Abstract

Feed plays a very important role in the livestock production chain. The results showed that lack of feed for livestock, especially cattle, could reduce body weight by 130-150 grams/head/day, depending on the sex and age of the ox. While the adequacy of feed can increase body weight 1-1,3 kg / head / day. In Bangun Rejo village, located in Tanjung Morawa sub-district, there are many cattle breeders with more than 10 cows per household. The obstacle that was seen when the proposing team conducted a survey to the service location in Bangun Rejo village was the lack of fodder for cattle that grew around the residents' residences due to limited land for planting elephant grass. The potential for feed around the farmers is the presence of cassava and palm fronds that can be used as animal feed. For this reason, we need an equipment that can chop these feed ingredients so that they can be consumed by livestock optimally and safely. The choper is intended to reduce the size of forage feed. In addition to the small size (approximately 2.5 cm long) the presentation of feed becomes more effective, it also allows mixing with additional feed ingredients.

Abstract

Bandar Klippa Village is one of the villages in Percut Sei Tuan sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province with an area of ​​1,828.4 Ha. In the village of Bandar Klippa, most of the agricultural land out of a total of 575 hectares is planted with corn with an average yield per hectare of 20 tons if there is sufficient rainfall. Generally, corn farmers immediately sell their crops to the factory after they have been harvested. The price of corn if it is sold directly to the factory is around 2800/kg, namely whole corn and the corn cob because the farmers do not yet have a corn sheller. If shelling is done, the price of corn increases to IDR 4,200/kg or almost 2 times that. This service is intended to help corn farmers get added value to their corn yields by providing a corn sheller machine designed by the proposing team and providing training in the use and maintenance of the sheller machine so that it can be used for a long time. After being crushed, the corncobs can also be sold to cattle breeders at a price of around Rp. 1000 to Rp. 2000 for each kilogram. The sheller machine can shell 350 kg of corn every hour

Abstract

The brick-making business in Pematang Sijonam village, Perbaungan subdistrict, already uses a mechanical system but still uses a labour-intensive system. The process of printing bricks while using a brick printing machine operated by two operators and equipment that was almost obsolete were the obstacles faced by the partners during the survey by the implementing team. The output of this service is a new brick printing machine that can be operated by only one operator so that it can increase work efficiency in brick making. This dedication succeeded in overcoming the obstacles faced by brick-making entrepreneurs in terms of brick-making. There is efficiency in terms of the use of labor to operate the brick-making machine where initially 2 people became 1 person, besides that the speed of moving the printed bricks to the drying location has increased.

Abstract

Desa Telaga Sari di Kecamatan Sunggal, Deli Serdang, memiliki banyak peternak sapi, kambing, dan bebek petelur. Salah satu peternak, Ibu Suryana, telah beternak sapi selama 30 tahun. Beliau memiliki 7 ekor sapi, 1 di antaranya masih anakan. Semakin berjalannya waktu, lahan untuk tumbuhnya pakan ternak seperti rumput dan hijauan semakin terbatas. Hal ini menyebabkan peternak seperti Ibu Suryana harus mencari tambahan pakan bahkan sampai keluar desa. Ibu Suryana harus mengarit rumput dua kali dan memberikannya kepada sapinya tanpa melalui perlakuan tambahan seperti pencacahan atau fermentasi. Beliau juga belum memanfaatkan teknologi maju seperti mesin pencacah rumput. Ketersediaan pakan yang terbatas dapat menurunkan produktivitas ternak dan menghambat usaha peternakan. Pemberian pakan tanpa perlakuan tambahan seperti pencacahan dan fermentasi juga dapat menurunkan efisiensi pakan dan meningkatkan risiko pencernaan ternak. Solusi yang ditawarkan berupa pelatihan kepada peternak tentang cara pengolahan pakan yang tepat, seperti pencacahan dan fermentasi. Membantu peternak untuk mendapatkan akses ke teknologi maju seperti mesin pencacah rumput. Metode yang digunakan berupa penyuluhan, pembuatan  serta sertah terima mesin kepada mitra pengabdian. Setelah peaksanaan pengabdian, kendala mitra berupa proses pencacahan pakan ternak sapi dapat teratasi dengan adanya kegiatan PKM ini, dimana mesin pencacah rumput dapat mencacah dengan ukuran cacahan rata-rata 3 sd 5 cm dengan kapasitas cacahan mencapai 300 kg setiap jamnya.
