Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The phenomenon of internet and social media addiction has attracted the attention of many people. We have conducted a research to examine whether or not the phenomenon of addiction to the internet and social media is a scientific reality. Then, we follow up this research. About 2014 respondents have been surveyed. Pearson’s Product Moment and Cronbach's Alpha tests were conducted to find out whether or not all the questions on this survey questionnaire were valid and reliable. The Chi Square hypothesis test was put forward Helmert’s theory around 1960; Helmert was a German Mathematical Physicist who mainly studied the field of Geodesy, even though Ernst Abbe and Irenne Jules Bienayme had already discovered this Chi Square distribution. The results of the internet addiction survey showed that 74.68% of respondents were not addicted and the rest were addicted mildly, moderately and severely. For the social media addiction survey, 79.94% of respondents were not addicted and the rest were addicted. Variables affecting addiction are age, occupation, and education. Internet and social media addiction is mostly experienced by Generation Y and Z, while Generation X has less addiction. The results of the measurement of Internet and social media addiction include scientific reality and attention should be paid to it and steps should be taken in the context of prevention and recovery for those who are addicted. Prevention and recovery for those who are addicted can be done by involving three major components: family, community, and state.

Abstract

Abstract

Since February 2020, Indonesia was struck by the Covid-19 pandemic. This led to the imposition of Large-scale Social Restrictions. The government issued a policy of working from home, learning from home, and worshiping at home. To carry out their activities from home, people are becoming increasingly dependent on the internet. With the increasing use of the internet during this pandemic, we are conducting a study on whether there is a phenomenon of internet addiction and social media in Indonesia. A survey of 2309 respondents from 31 provinces in Indonesia using Kimberley Young's Internet Addiction Test (IAT) has been conducted. After the data cleaning process to remove redundant data, only data from 2206 respondents were analyzed further with the binary logistic regression method. 25% of respondents were indicated with Internet addiction. High school students and college students tend to have a 1.7% higher risk of addiction. The length of time accessing e-commerce web and social media also increases the risk of internet addiction. YouTube and Instagram are social media applications that tend to pose a risk of addiction to respondents. A critical analysis of the Internet Addiction Test from a Philosophy of Science perspective was conducted. Finally, we formulate recommendations on strategies the government and society could take in dealing with the problem of internet addiction.

Abstract

The use of the Internet and social media today is inseparable from the life of modern society. This can lead to an addiction to the Internet and social media. This research aims to answer whether the phenomenon of Internet and social media addiction is a scientific reality or not in Indonesia, especially in Indonesian Students who are undergoing adaptation of the learning process from offline to online due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Data collection was conducted with a survey of 2002 respondents. Before the questionnaire was distributed, a validity test and reliability test with Alpha Cronbach's were conducted, and the results showed that all questions on the questionnaire were valid and reliable. Based on the survey results, 20.18% of respondents experienced mild addiction, 4.85% of respondents experienced moderate addiction, and 0.45% of respondents experienced severe addiction to Internets. While the survey results for social media addiction were 14.99% of respondents experienced mild addiction, 4.7% of respondents experienced moderate addiction, and 0.45% of respondents experienced severe addiction. Judging by the philosophy of science, Internet and Social Media Addiction are said to be science and not pseudoscience because it has fulfilled the characteristics of science that is logical, empirical, and can be falsified. There needs to be special attention from the Indonesians about the addiction to the Internet and social media so that this addiction can be anticipated and the inflicted symptoms can be minimized.

Abstract

Block cipher analysis  covers randomness analysis and cryptanalysis. This paper proposes a new method potentially used for randomness analysis and cryptanalysis. The method uses true random sequence  concept as a reference for measuring randomness level of a random sequence. By using this concept, this paper  defines  bias  which represents  violation  of  a  random  sequence  from  true random sequence. In this paper, block cipher   is treated as a mapping function of a discrete time dynamical system. The dynamical system framework is used to make  the  application  of  various  analysis  techniques  developed  in  dynamical system  field  becomes  possible.  There  are three  main parts of  the methodology presented  in  this  paper:  the  dynamical  system  framework  for  block  cipher analysis, a  new chaos game  scheme and an extended measure  concept related to chaos game and fractal analysis. This paper also presents the general procedures of the proposed method, which includes: symbolic dynamic analysis of discr ete dynamical system whose block cipher as its mapping function, random sequence construction,  the  random  sequence  usage  as  input  of  a  chaos  game  scheme, output  measurement  of  chaos  game  scheme  using  extended  measure  concept, analysis  the  result  of  the  measurement.  The  analysis  process  and  of  a  specific real or sample block cipher and the analysis result are beyond the scope of this paper.

Abstract

Quality control can suppress or reduce the volume of errors and repairs in the future where it can also minimize costs incurred by the company if later there is damage. These activities must be carried out carefully and effectively so that the results obtained are in accordance with the initial objectives. In fact, the implementation of equipment quality control activities in the field at PT. Indonesia Comnets Plus SBU Regional Sumbagsel is still done manually so it is not practical and takes a lot of time. This research is a design science research (DSR) by making a decision support system to help determine the quality of equipment in the field and determine the level of urgency for repairs to the tower that suffered the most damage using the Multi-Objective Optimization On The Basis Of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) Method. The accuracy results obtained in the implementation of this method are 100%

Abstract

The development of data science or machine learning is experiencing swift growth. This development can become a pseudoscience due to the process of collecting, using algorithms, and processing data that are not per research standards. Machine learning is one of numerous artificial intelligence (AI) techniques that allow a machine to learn independently. Several machine learning implementations include consulting robots, process optimization, credit scoring, security, and services. Data science often uses supervised learning algorithms, which can be trapped intopseudoscience due to errors in the use and processing of data in research. The solution to avoid this is to apply the epistemological concept of Karl Popper, which is related to the falsification ofscience to solve the problem of demarcation. To enhance it, you can also use the principles of the Four Theory of Truth, namely coherence, correspondence, pragmatism, and consensus.
