Abstract

Poverty is a condition of inability to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, education, and health. The implementation of Sumbawa Regency Government Regulation Number 22 of 2022 concerning poverty alleviation in Sumbawa Regency is expected to reduce the poverty rate in Sumbawa Regency. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods and data collection techniques using observation, interview and documentation techniques. This study uses the theory of policy implementation from Ripley & Franklin. The results of the study show that the poverty line in Sumbawa can really be the center of attention. To measure the poverty line, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) uses the concept of the ability to meet basic needs (basic needs approach), namely the inability from an economic perspective to meet basic food and non-food needs as measured by expenditure. Referring to a survey conducted by the United Nations (UN), recording expenditure tends to better describe the economic condition/purchasing power of a household compared to information related to income which tends to be unreliable. The conclusion of this study is that in 2021, there was a spike in poverty due to the outbreak. However, the government optimized its efforts by creating programs to minimize the problem of poverty so that it did not increase significantly, one of which was the Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). This program, one of the programs implemented by the government in 2021, ran smoothly. According to the Statistics Indonesia (BPS), the poverty rate in 2022 again experienced a significant decline of 1.92% to 64,730 people. This decline in the poverty population in 2022 was the fastest compared to previous years.

Abstract

This Wastewater treatment plants are essential for reducing pollution before wastewater is discharged, but conventional systems often fail to achieve effective pollutant removal . This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of mangrove powder in treating industrial wastewater before it is discharged into the environment to improve wastewater quality. Samples were taken at two points: after conventional wastewater treatment and after treatment with mangrove biofiltration. The biofiltration system was designed to address the limitations of conventional treatment, particularly in reducing BOD₅, COD, phosphate, MBAS, and increasing dissolved oxygen (DO). Sampling was carried out using a  one liter sterile sample bottle. Sampling was carried out using a 1-liter sterile sample bottle. Sampling was carried out at one point with four repetitions. Parameters analyzed included TSS, pH, DO, BOD₅, COD, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, phosphate, sulfate, and MBAS detergent. Mangrove biofiltration achieved reductions in TSS (55.26%), COD (99.35%), nitrate (100%), BOD₅ (99.15%), phosphate (96.67%), sulfate (99.55%), nitrite (100%), ammonia (90.00%), and MBAS (100%), while DO increased by 47.37% and pH remained stable. These improvements indicate the mangrove biofilter’s capacity to adsorb and biologically degrade organic matter and pollutants, enhancing wastewater quality to meet reuse standards. The results of the study show the potential of mangrove-based biofiltration as a solution for waste treatment units using mangrove biofiltration to reduce the concentration of DO, BOD, COD, phospat, Detergen MBAS, and Ammonis in industrial waste before being discharged into the environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine what morphological level errors appear in college students' translation of recount texts from Indonesian to English based on Dulay's theory of surface strategy taxonomy. Referring on this theory, errors are divided into omission, addition, mis-formation and mis-ordering. This study was conducted in a descriptive qualitative method. The population was the members of UKM Bahasa Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung with the sample used in this study were 15 members of UKM Bahasa taken with random sampling technique by sharing the Google Form link to all the population and only collected 15 participants. The data of this study were participants' translation results in translating recount text from Indonesian to English, which they sent in the Google Form link. The result of this study shows that there are 130 morphological errors made by students in translating recount text. The most common morphological error is inflectional error, which appears 37 times; the least common is pronoun error, and the auxiliary error, which appears 6 times. Meanwhile, the most common error in the surface level of taxonomy strategy is mis-formation error which appears 58 times, followed by omission error 42 times and addition error 30 times. In this study, researchers did not find any mis-ordering errors that appeared.

Abstract

The growing volume of comments from online users expressing their opinions about Prince EA's video's content—which brought up issues with the educational system was the driving force for this study. The expressions used by netizens in the comments section have a certain meaning, and it's critical to grasp this meaning to avoid miscommunication and guarantee clear communication. Pragmatics' expressive speech act theory sheds light on this occurrence. The purposes of this study were to identify the various forms of expressive speech actions that may be found in Prince EA's YouTube channel's comment section and to explain the significance of these acts. The comments from Prince EA's videos were used in this study's descriptive qualitative analysis, "I just sued the school system" and Students Vs. Teacher". Condensing, displaying, and drawing conclusions from the data were all part of the analysis. This research mentioned that seven out of eight expressive speech act kinds in the comment, such as volition, agreement, gratitude, exclamation, greetings, and sorrows. Among these, thanking (gratitude) was the most frequently expressed of them, appearing 36 times in total. Additionally, to explain the meaning of expressive speech acts in the comment section, the researchers first examined the context (the content of two Prince EA'S video). In essence, this research recommends that lecturers can be more careful and wiser in expressing feelings to students through utterances. Thus, a more positive, inclusive environment will be created and can reduce the potential for unwanted misunderstandings between students and lecturers. Keywords: expressive speech act comments; prince EA; Youtube channel.

Abstract

Village development in Indonesia following Law No. 6 of 2014 positions Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) as a strategic instrument for fiscal independence. This study aims to examine the relationship between BUMDes performance and Village Original Revenue (PADes) and its implications for community welfare, while considering the legal framework as a foundation. The research employs an associative quantitative approach using secondary data, including BUMDes financial reports, PADes realization, and welfare indicators, analyzed through linear regression and correlation. Findings reveal a significant positive relationship between BUMDes performance and PADes (R² = 0.46; p < 0.05), while PADes shows a moderate correlation with community welfare (r = 0.52). A normative legal analysis indicates that although regulations such as Law No. 6/2014 and Government Regulation No. 11/2021 provide strong legitimacy, implementation at the village level still faces technical and administrative challenges. In conclusion, BUMDes significantly contributes to PADes; however, welfare impacts require affirmative policies in PADes allocation and stronger institutional capacity at the village level.
