Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the working period of civil servant lecturers and education on work wages in side jobs (jobs outside the duties as civil servants) both directly, and through work productivity. The sample of 100 respondents was selected purvosively from the population of PTN lecturers at Mulawarman University who have a minimum education of S2 and group IIIc, by using regression analysis (Structural Model), the results showed that: (1) The working period of civil servants and formal education each had a positive and significant effect on the work productivity of lecturers. The implication is that the competence of lecturers is largely determined by educational factors and work experience. (2) However, only formal education has a significant effect on side job wages, while work experience and work productivity have no significant effect. Indicate that there is no other way to improve the additional employment income of lecturers, except by improving competence through further education.

Abstract

This study investigates how digital technology adoption and online marketing strategies drive consumer purchase decisions, with service quality examined as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 200 Indonesian undergraduate students who actively use the Shopee e-commerce platform. Measurement items were adapted from established scales and analyzed through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and moderated regression analysis. The results show that both digital technology adoption and online marketing strategies have significant positive effects on consumer purchase decisions. More importantly, service quality not only exerts a direct influence but also strengthens the relationships between technology, marketing, and consumer behavior. The proposed model explains 47.2% of the variance in purchase decisions, demonstrating moderate explanatory power. This research contributes to the literature by extending previous studies that primarily examined direct relationships. It introduces service quality as a moderating mechanism that enhances the effectiveness of digital and marketing innovations. Practically, the findings offer strategic insights for e-commerce platforms to integrate technological adoption, marketing personalization, and high-quality service delivery in order to build consumer trust and encourage sustainable purchasing behavior.

Abstract

Purpose: To support the Five Bold Moves strategy, Telkom Indonesia launched the MyTEnS application to streamline B2B processes for Account Managers (AM). This study investigates the factors influencing MyTEnS adoption and the moderating roles of Age and Job Tenure. Research methodology: A quantitative method was employed using the extended UTAUT-2 model, incorporating Personal Innovativeness and moderation by Age and Job Tenure. A total of 129 respondents participated, and data were analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0 with path analysis. Results: Effort Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation, and Personal Innovativeness significantly influence Behavioral Intention. Facilitating Conditions and Behavioral Intention significantly affect Use Behavior. Meanwhile, Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Habit show no significant effect on Behavioral Intention. Moderating effects of Age and Job Tenure were significant only in the relationship between Facilitating Conditions and Behavioral Intention. Conclusions: Personal Innovativeness emerged as the strongest predictor of Behavioral Intention, followed by Hedonic Motivation and Effort Expectancy. Behavioral Intention is the most significant factor influencing actual system usage. Limitations: The study is limited by its cross-sectional design and focus on a single organization. Some hypotheses were unsupported, possibly due to limited construct measurement. Contribution: This study extends the UTAUT-2 model with new variables and offers insights into B2B technology adoption within a telecommunications context.

Abstract

Background: The microbial biofilm, a matrix-encased community, represents a foundational biological entity mediating critical outcomes across both environmental and human health sectors. The purpose of this comprehensive review is to synthesize the disparate literature on biofilm dynamics and its dual impact, thereby establishing the necessary framework for a unified research strategy. A vast body of work confirms the biofilm's role in nutrient cycling and protection, but simultaneously highlights its involvement in major global challenges, including infectious disease and ecological stability loss. Methods: This review synthesizes extant literature from environmental microbiology, clinical medicine, and biogeochemistry to construct a cohesive theoretical model. The core theoretical component introduced is the "biofilm health" analogy, which compares a biofilm community to an ecosystem where functional diversity dictates resilience and resistance to invasion. Findings: The core finding is the biological paradox inherent in the biofilm's structure: the same resilience mechanism (the Extracellular Polymeric Substance, or EPS) that drives positive ecological processes like bioremediation simultaneously accelerates the global crisis of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in clinical settings, and facilitates the persistence of environmental pathogens and destructive biocorrosion. This paradox mandates a holistic research paradigm shift. Conclusion: Addressing this paradox necessitates a unified One Health approach, compelling researchers to develop non-antimicrobial disruption strategies targeting the EPS matrix. Novelty/Originality of this article: This work introduces the "biofilm health" analogy as a transdisciplinary conceptual tool and provides the first comprehensive synthesis detailing how the biofilm structure itself acts as the central bottleneck linking ecological stability and clinical health outcomes.
