This study aimed to explore coping strategies used by parents of children with ASD. This descriptive phenomenology study used in-depth semi-structured interviews to explore parents experiences. Six participants were recruited from Pusat Layanan Autis Kota Malang by using purposive sampling. The interviews were digitally recorded and transcribed verbatim. The thematic were analyzed using Colaizi’s phenomenological method. Eight themes were extracted according to the spesific purposes: (1) caring demand; (2) social stigma; (3) level of ASD severity; (4) life stressor of parent as a caregiver; (5) constructive coping strategies: seeking for information, formal support, spiritual approach, relaxation, and positif thinking (6) destructive coping strategies: physical and verbale action; (7) positive life meaning: change of the way of thinking and behavior, and (8) negative life meaning: stress feeling of having ASD children. It can be concluded that both constructive and destructive coping strategies were used by parents when dealing with children with ASD. Futher investigation with parents living in rural areas is needed to explore their constructive coping strategies using phenomenology study design.Key words: coping strategies, parents, autism spectrum disorder

Pada usia ini seluruh aspek perkembangan kecerdasan tumbuh dan berkembang sangat luar biasa. Berbagai faktor berperan dalam perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak, salah satunya adalah pola asuh. Kemampuan orangtua dalam mengembangkan pola asuh yang diterapkan pada anak secara tepat dapat mendorong perkembangan kecerdasan emosional anak yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan pola asuh orangtua dengan kecerdasan emosional anak usia prasekolah (4-6 tahun). Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi korelasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Cara pengambilan sampling adalah  nonprobability sampling dengan teknik  purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 57 orangtua siswa TK Senaputra Kota Malang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan pola asuh orangtua dengan kecerdasan emosional anak usia prasekolah (4-6 tahun). Berdasarkan uji korelasi  spearman rank dengan nilai korelasi positif sebesar 0,909 dan memiliki nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05). Kata kunci: Pola Asuh, Kecerdasan Emosional, Anak Usia Prasekolah ABSTRACTPreschool age is the golden age of children. In this age, whole aspects of intelligence are grown and developed dramatically. Some factors are influencing the development of emotional intelligence, including care pattern. Parental capability in developing care pattern appropriately for children  will produce good development of children emotional intelligence. The aim of this research is to see the relationship between parental care pattern and emotional intelligence of preschool age children (4-6 years old). Research design is a correlation study using  cross sectional approach. The sampling method is  non-probability sampling  with  purposive sampling  technique. The number of sample is 57 parents of Senaputra Kindergarten of Malang City. The result of research indicates that there is a relationship of  parental care pattern with emotional intelligence of preschool age children (4-6 years old). The result of  Spearman Rank correlation test shows that the positive correlation is 0.909 while significance rate is 0.000 (p < 0.05). It is then concluded that there is a relationship between parental care pattern and emotional intelligence of preschool age children. It may be suggested that the parent should give democratic care pattern in caring the children to produce good development of children emotional intelligence. Keywords: care pattern, emotional intelligence, preschool age children

Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi ibu hamil dalam mengikuti senam hamil adalah faktor internal yang terdiri dari pengetahuan, sikap dan motivasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan faktor internal dengan peran serta ibu hamil dalam mengikuti senam hamil di Rumah Sakit Bersalin Mutiara Bunda Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi korelasional melalui pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel terdiri dari 36 responden dan dipilih dengan tehnik purposive sampling. Variabel yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah faktor internal dan  peran serta ibu hamil dalam mengikuti senam hamil. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan observasi dokumentasi. Pada hasil analisis secara univariat didapatkan hasil bahwa pengetahuan ibu yang tidak mengikuti senam hamil lebih baik daripada ibu yang mengikuti senam hamil, namun sikap dan motivasi ibu yang mengikuti senam hamil lebih baik daripada ibu yang tidak mengikuti senam hamil. Pada hasil analisis secara bivariat dengan Kai Kuadrat dengan selang kepercayaan 95% didapatkan hasil bahwa p value > á, artinya Ho gagal ditolak. Hal ini berarti tidak ada hubungan masing-masing subvariabel pengetahuan, sikap dan motivasi dengan peran serta ibu hamil dalam mengikuti senam hamil. Pada hasil analisis secara multivariat dengan Regresi Berganda dengan selang kepercayaan 95% didapatkan hasil bahwa p value > á, artinya Ho gagal ditolak. Hal ini berarti tidak ada hubungan faktor internal (pengetahuan, sikap, dan motivasi) dengan peran serta ibu hamil dalam mengikuti senam hamil. The factor that influence the participation of pregnant woman to join pregnancy exercise is knowledge, attitude, and motivation. This research is conducted to know the correlation of internal factor with the participation of pregnant woman for joining pregnancy exercise in maternity hospital Mutiara Bunda Malang. This research design uses correlation study through cross sectional approach. Sample consists of 36 respondents and selected through purposive sampling technique. The measured variabel in this research is internal factor and the participation of pregnant woman for joining pregnancy exercise. Data collecting is done by questionnaire and documentation observation. In the analysis result for univariate shows that knowledge of pregnant woman who not join pregnancy exercise is better than pregnant woman who join pregnancy exercise, but the attitude and motivation of  pregnant woman who join pregnancy exercise is better that pregnant woman who not join pregnancy exercise. In the analysis result for bivariate by using Chi-Square with the confidence level of 95%, shows that p value > á, it means that Ho is failed to refused. It means that there is no correlation of each sub variable knowledge, attitude and motivation with the participation of pregnant woman for joining pregnancy exercise. In the analysis result for multivariate by using Multiple Regression with confidence level of 95%, shows that p value > á, it means that Ho is failed to refused. It means that there is no correlation of internal factor (knowledge, attitude and motivation) with the participation of pregnant woman for joining pregnancy exercise.   Keywords : Internal Factor, Participation, Pregnancy Exercise

Abstract

Self-efficacy pasien lupus perlu ditingkatkan agar individu memiliki keyakinan dalam mendukung penerimaan terhadap keadaan sakit yang dialaminya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi psikoreligi terhadap self-efficacy pasien lupus di Yayasan Kupu Parahita Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuasi eksperimental tanpa kelompok kontrol dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest design. Sebanyak 16 sampel pasien lupus di Yayasan Kupu Parahita Indonesia dipilih acak atau simple random sampling, yang selanjutnya disesuaikan dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan, kuesioner pengukur self-efficacy yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner General Self-Efficacy (GSE). Terapi psikoreligi yang diberikan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menonton rangkaian video terapi berdurasi 28 sampai 30 menit seminggu sekali selama sebulan. Analisis statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji t berpasangan dengan α = 0,05. Hasil rerata self-efficacy (skor GSE) sebelum dan sesudah terapi adalah 28,25+1,81 dan 33,06+3,39 (p = 0,000).  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terapi psikoreligi efektif dalam meningkatkan self-efficacy pasien lupus. Hasil ini dapat dijadikan dasar terapi alternatif untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy pasien lupus dalam menghadapi sakitnya.

Abstract

School-aged children, as a developmental stage, are a group at high risk for mental health issues, particularly during this pandemic of COVID-19. Children may be perpetrators, witnesses, or victims of violence or irregularities perpetrated directly or through social media. This community service activity is designed to improve the mental health of children during the COVID-19 pandemic through early detection, prevention, and early treatment of mental health issues through parental and teacher empowerment programs. When children learn online and do more activities at home with their families, there are many factors that affect children's mental health. This is not widely known by the school, teachers, counselors, and parents clearly, which results in the state of the child getting worse. Through an empowerment program, they can discover early deviations that occur and take preventive measures with early treatment efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan kelompok rentan dengan risiko masalah kesehatan mental dan psikososial yang kompleks seperti stres, ansietas, depresi, dan risiko bunuh diri. Masalah Kesehatan mental yang banyak terjadi antara lain stress, ansietas, depresi dan gangguan perilaku. Masalah tersebut dapat disebabkan karena kecanduan game online, hubungan sosial dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara masalah psikososial pada remaja berhubungan dengan kesehatan jiwa, burnout akademik, dan kecanduan smartphone pada remaja sekolah menengah atas. Penelitan ini menggunakan Desain deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan crossectional. Penelitian di lakukan di Wilayah Kabupaten Bondowoso pada populasi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Iinstrumen yang digunakan Pediatric Symptoms Checklist (PSC), Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Maslah Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI SS) dan Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS SV). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan masalah psikososial remaja dengan kesulitan remaja menunjukkan bahwa masalah psikososial remaja berhubungan signifikan dengan kesulitan pada remaja (p-value = 0,000; r: 0,574), masalah psikososial pada remaja berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan burnout akademik siswa (p-value = 0,001; r: 0,170) dan kecanduan smartphone (p-value = 0,000; r: 0,223). Risiko masalah psikososial remaja berhubungan dengan kesehatan jiwa remaja domain kesulitan, burnout akademik remaja, dan kecanduan smartphone.

Abstract

Background: Factors that influence self-esteem among young people are social environments. The social environment renders the individuals doing the interaction and one type of interaction which does not need of face to face is through social media such as Instagram. Objective: This study aimed to obtain the correlations between the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem among eleventh-grade youth in a public senior high school in Malang. Method: This research used cross-sectional design. A sample of this research was eleventh-grade youth of senior high school with 86 active Instagram users. Data collecting in this study used the purposive sampling technique. A questionnaire used in this research intensively used Instagram and self-esteem questionnaires on social media. The data analysis used the Spearman test. Result: The result showed that the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem of eleventh-grade youth were mostly in low categories, while self-esteem level was mostly in the high category. The outcome indicated that the significant value = 0.310 (p<0.05) and the correlation coefficient = 0.111. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem of eleventh-grade youth. Further research is to analyse the social media used by youths other than Instagram and its correlation to self-concept, include self-esteem.

Abstract

Background: The postpartum period begins when the placenta is born and ends when the uterus returns to its normal state. During the postpartum period, physiological and psychological adaptations occur in the mother. One of the psychological conditions that can appear in postpartum mothers is anxiety. The process of pregnancy, childbirth, and the puerperium may cause anxiety, especially in primiparous mothers. Anxiety not treated immediately can lead to postpartum depression or baby blues syndrome. Objective: This research aims to apply nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention based on evidence-based practice, implementation, and evaluation of nursing Methods: The research method used interviews with patients and families and nurses' direct observations in the Visual Analog Scale for Anxiety (VAS-A) to measure anxiety levels. This research design was a case study with primiparous postpartum mothers who were given nursing intervention. Results: The patient experienced nursing problems of moderate level of anxiety, postpartum pain, knowledge deficit, and risk of infection. The primary  intervention given to the patient is to provide non-pharmacological therapy using deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce the patient's level of anxiety. Conclusion: Based on the results of nursing interventions given, it is explained that there is a decrease in the level of anxiety in patients. Thus, the patient's treatment plan was stopped and continued with self-care at home according to the recommendations given.

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is a phase that causes many changes in a woman's life, from physical, psychological, hormonal, and social changes. Anxiety is a psychological manifestation that is commonly found in pregnant women. Pregnant women's anxiety because the baby lies transversely will increase the risk of umbilical cord prolapse during labor. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the spiritual approach to reduce anxiety in pregnant mother with long-standing baby in Wandanpuro village. Methods: The writing methodology uses the analytical method of nursing care with a descriptive design. The participants were pregnant women with anxiety due to the transverse position of the baby. History of previous deliveries: The client has usually given birth, with the baby being breech in the first delivery and coiling the umbilical cord in the second. The lack of socializing with the surrounding environment and husband involvement significantly causes anxiety, stress, and depression in pregnant women. The anxiety problem, in this case, was then followed up with nursing interventions according to the nurse's competence, namely an anxiety implementation strategy (SP) for clients and families in the form of spiritual activities. Result: The most preferred therapy and considered most effective by clients for overcoming the anxiety of spiritual activities are regular worship, namely praying five times a day and routine dhikr after every prayer. The factor of faith has a broad and robust influence on health. Conclusion: Spiritual support will form an adaptive coping mechanism for an event threatening the client's survival.

Abstract

Background: Synovial sarcoma is a rare high-grade soft tissue tumor, which is about 5% to 10% of the total soft tissue sarcoma and can occur at various ages. The prognosis in patients with synovial sarcoma is influenced by many characteristics of the disease, namely tumor size, invade locality, histologic type, presence of metastases and lymph node involvement, and successful surgery. Surgery can have an impact, namely the problem of grieving in sufferers. Spirituality is an important indicator of quality of life and an aspect that reduces the negative impact of an ineffective grieving process. In helping patients cope with grieving responses, spiritual support is provided not only by religious practices. Spiritual support also refers to activities that provide a calm atmosphere, provide entertainment, listen to patients, provide and respect privacy, and support patients' search for meaning and purpose in life. Objective: The aim of the research was to apply nursing care which includes assessment, determination of diagnoses, interventions based on evidence-based practice, implementation and evaluation of nursing. Methods: The research methods used are interviews, observation and documentation studies. The design of this research is a case study with synovial sarcoma patient respondents who were given spiritual support nursing interventions. Result: Based on the results of the nursing evaluation, there was a decrease in the level of grieving in patients after being given spiritual support. Conclusion: Thus, the patient's care plan is continued by the ward nurse and encourages the patient and family to use spiritual support as a step to overcome feelings of grief.
