The main problem faced by adolescents in the place of community service is the challenge of maintaining chastity and low knowledge of marriage preparation and stunting. The advancement of information technology which also has implications for the rise of pornography, is a serious problem that must be faced by adolescents today. Not to mention the understanding of child free which every year continues to increase into a big monster and is quite frightening for the development of a healthy young generation in facing the nature of family life. Partners in this PkM activity are teenagers in the Youth Organization community in Caturharjo Village. To achieve the goal, training based on the socratic method was used. The socratic method functions to organize the minds of adolescents more systematically and comprehensively through reflective thinking to avoid misconceptions. The success of the service is measured by the results of the pre-test and post-test. The results of the service show that there is an average increase of 21 points, this shows that the training is effective.

Abstract

The transition from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Elementary School (SD) often causes problems such as children's social-emotional and academic unpreparedness. This is due to the difference in learning approaches between PAUD, which is play-based, and SD, which is more formal. The purpose of this community service is to improve PAUD and SD teachers' understanding of holistic transition principles centered on children's needs. Training teachers in designing play-based and project-based transition activities. The activities were conducted over two days at the Grand Zuhri Hotel in Ketapang District, involving 50 participants comprising teachers and school principals. The methods used included: workshops, simulations and practical exercises, group discussions, and evaluations through pre-tests, post-tests, observation of participation, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results of the program showed that participants were able to design play-based activities such as exploring the elementary school environment and role-playing, as well as mastering simple assessment tools to monitor children's social-emotional development. This program had a significant impact on enhancing teachers' capacity to create enjoyable PAUD-SD transitions, reducing transition shock in children through a play-based approach. The collaboration formed between teachers, parents, and educational institutions strengthened systemic support for children's readiness. The activity outcomes also serve as policy recommendations for the Education Department to integrate transition modules into ongoing teacher training, while also serving as a best practice model that can be adapted in other regions of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates young learners’ needs in developing task-based English teaching materials that embed character education values. Although task-based language teaching (TBLT) has gained broad recognition, limited research in the Indonesian context has examined how character education values can be systematically integrated into TBLT materials for primary school students. To address this gap, a mixed-methods design was employed, combining quantitative data from student questionnaires with qualitative insights from teacher and principal interviews. This methodological triangulation ensured a more valid and comprehensive understanding of learners’ personal and instructional needs. Participants included 424 elementary students, three English teachers, and three principals from Muhammadiyah schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The findings indicate that students’ personal needs are influenced by age, gender, cultural background, and attitudes toward English learning, while their learning needs reflect preferences in learning styles, teaching media, instructional techniques, thematic choices, language proficiency, and the inclusion of character-related content. The study provides empirically grounded insights to guide English curriculum design in Muhammadiyah schools, fostering the integration of moral and linguistic goals within task-based instruction, and offering a transferable framework for English language education in Indonesia and comparable contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to identify trends in scientific publications on Islamic counseling. The research uses bibliometric analysis involving scientific publications from 1989 to 2024 in the Scopus database. The keywords we use are "Islamic counseling" or "Islamic intervention". The analysis results show that the trend of scientific publications with these two keywords has increased significantly, with the peak occurring in 2020-2024. The United States is the country that has the highest contribution to scientific publications about Islamic counseling. Most articles on Islamic counseling are published in the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Journal. Tim Haesebrouck is a well-known researcher who has the most publications, while Hooman Keshavarzi is a researcher who has the most total citations. The results open up opportunities to conduct further research in areas that have not been widely researched, such as COVID-19, spirituality, violence, and conflict. The results of this research have implications for efforts to develop Islamic counseling science.
