Abstract

The Student-Life Stress Inventory is a standard measurement instrument used to measure sources of stress (frustration, conflict, pressure, change, and self-imposition) and reactions to stress (physiological, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive) developed by Bernadette M. Gadzella. (1991). The purpose of this study was to test the construct validity and construct reliability on the academic stress scale and examine the components and indicators that can construct the academic stress variable. The sample in this study was 127 Nursing Students, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The research data were analyzed through the SPSS program. Based on the results of data analysis, the components and indicators that build the academic stress variable are declared valid and reliable. These results indicate that all components and indicators are able to reflect and construct academic stress variables.

Abstract

Background: One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the academic atmosphere is by changing the learning system from offline to online. Technological sophistication does not always have a positive impact on students, but has a negative impact as well. Problems that can arise during the adaptation process to these changes include academic stress which in turn can affect the physical, psychological, and student achievement. To be able to maintain their achievements, students are required to have the ability to manage academic stress, one of which is good emotional intelligence. Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and students' academic stress levels when carrying out online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This research was conducted between June-October 2021 using a Cross-Sectional Survey of all students of the DIII Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Sport and Health Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (127 nursing students) and analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique analysis. Results: The findings of this study are that there is an inverse and significant relationship (p = 0.006 and r = -0.243, ) between emotional intelligence and academic stress in students. The higher the individual's emotional intelligence, the lower the level of academic stress. Conclusion: This study can prove that one of the variables that can affect academic stress is emotional intelligence, so it is important to improve students' emotional intelligence, one of which is emotional intelligence training.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dampak  negatif  akibat  beredarnya  berita hoax khususnya  dari  program  vaksinasi ini adalah   timbulnya kecemasan dan panic   attack  di   kalangan   masyarakat yang berakibat pada rendahnya cakupan imunisasi COVID-19. Diperlukan pendekatan pendidikan kesehatan secara personal untuk memberikan promosi kesehatan pada masyarakat. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat  ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi panic attack pada masyarakat akibat hoax vaksinasi COVID-19. Bentuk kegiatan PKM ini berupa pemberian Pendidikan kesehatan berbasis pendekatan keluarga. Peserta pada pelaksanaan ini sejumlah 104 keluarga di wilayah kerja PKM Ciwaruga. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan motivasi masyarakat untuk mengikuti vaksinasi COVID-19 sesuai anjuran pemerintah. Edukasi masyarakat berbasis pendekatan keluarga dinilai efektif untuk mengatasi panic attack secara personal. Perlu dilakukan upaya untuk edukasi berkelanjutan berupa penyuluhan kesehatan yang benar untuk menangkal hoax, sehingga disinformasi yang beredar di masyarakat akan berkurang. Kata Kunci: COVID-19, Hoax, Keluarga, Pemberdayaan  ABSTRACT The negative impact due to the circulation of hoax news, especially from covid-19 vaccination program, is the emergence of anxiety and panic attacks among the public which results in low coverage of COVID-19 immunization. A personal health education approach is needed to provide health promotion to the community. This community service aims to overcome panic attacks in the community due to the COVID-19 vaccination hoax. The form of PKM activities is in the form of providing health education based on a family approach. The participants in this implementation were 104 families in the Ciwaruga primary health services. The results of the activity showed an increase in public knowledge and motivation to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination according to the government's recommendations. Community education based on a family approach is considered effective for overcoming panic attacks personally. Efforts need to be made for continuous education in the form of correct health counseling to ward off hoaxes so that disinformation circulating in the community will be reduced. Keywords: COVID-19, Empowerment, Family, Hoax

Abstract

Background : Entrepreneurship in nursing has enormous and promising opportunities for a nurse. It includes palliative care / home care, nursing counseling, caregiver training, physiotherapy services and others. However, the development of entrepreneurship in nursing still faces several obstacles.Purpose The aim of this study was to explore the development of entrepreneurship in nursing.Method The method used in this study was literature review. Several data bases including Google schoolar, Garuda, National Library, DOAJ, PubMed, Sciencedirect, and Proquest were used. Keywords were chosenin accordance with MESH (Medical Subject Heading), including “kewirausahaan keperawatan”, “hambatan kewirausahaan keperawatan”,"mahasiswa keperawatan", "nursing entrepreneurship", "nursing entrepreneurial", "barrier of nursing entrepreneur", "opportunities of nursing entrepreneur”, and “nursing student” in April 2020. Based on the search results there were 4 national and 4 international articles related to the topic and match the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings Findings from 8 articles indicated that obstacles faced by entrepreneur nurses were more due to a lack of entrepreneurial knowledge, experience, and skills. There are several ways to overcome obstacles that occur in nursing entrepreneurship, namely: increasing entrepreneurial knowledge and experience, identifying opportunities via internet or social media, and always interacting among fellow entrepreneurs, patients and the community to find opportunities that have never been found before. The solution to develop nursing entrepreneurship is to increase the interest, knowledge, skills, training and experience of nursing entrepreneurs. This research is expected to be used as an evaluation of entrepreneurship learning and nursing entrepreneurship development programs.Conclusion In conclusion, the development of nursing entrepreneurship is still facing some obstacles that need to be overcome. The main key lies in increasing knowledge, interests and skills through entrepreneurial training and education.

Abstract

Background: Collaboration and advocacy between school nurses, educators, parents and healthcare providers can create a supportive and healthy school environment for students. Effective collaboration and communication between school nurses, teachers, parents, and healthcare providers is necessary to ensure coordinated care for students. Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) is an effort to meet the educational and health needs of young people that encompasses the entire school. The model outlines a whole-school approach, with every adult; teacher and nurse, and every student playing a role in the growth and development of themselves, their peers, and the school as a whole. Objective: to describe the results of a literature review on the theoretical description of the WSCC model in the context of school health nursing. Method: using the literature review method of 10 journal articles published in the range of 2020-2023 with reference sources from the Google Scholar database and PubMed. Results: of the 10 articles that were successfully obtained explained the description of the WSCC model, implementation, policy, and urgency. Conclusion: WSCC is an effective framework in improving student well-being in schools equipped with several implementation tools.

Abstract

The problem that occurred in the elderly was a decrease in body function in line with increasing age, one of which was a decrease in cognitive function. Prevention efforts that could be done were by doing physical activity. This study aimed to determine the effect of physical activity on cognitive function in the elderly. The design used in this study was a literature review from database search results that could be accessed through Science Direct, GARUDA, and Google Scholar with articles in the last 5 years (2015-2020). A literature search using the keywords "Physical Activity, Cognitive Function, Brain, Elderly". The search results of 6 articles that had been found using experimental methods showed that some physical activities carried out in the elderly with a duration of administration for 30-60 minutes, with a frequency of 3-5 times a week, and an interval of 1 day for rest could affect and improve cognitive function in the elderly. Physical activity affected cognitive function because regular physical activity could stimulate proteins in the brain to maintain and assist in the process of forming new cells in the brain. Some physical activities that could be done by the elderly included brain exercise, aerobic exercise, healthy walking, and aquatic exercise. Abstrak Permasalahan yang terjadi pada lansia adalah penurunan fungsi tubuh sejalan dengan bertambahnya usia, salah satunya adalah penurunan fungsi kognitif. Upaya pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan melakukan aktivitas fisik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aktivitas fisik terhadap fungsi kognitif pada lansia. Desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kajian literatur dari hasil pencarian database yang bisa diakses melalui Science Direct, GARUDA, dan Google Scholar dengan artikel dalam rentang waktu 5 tahun terakhir (2015-2020). Pencarian literatur menggunakan kata kunci “Aktivitas Fisik, Fungsi kognitif, Otak, Lanjut usia”. Hasil pencarian dari 6 artikel yang telah ditemukan menggunakan metode eksperimen menunjukan bahwa beberapa aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan pada lansia dengan lama pemberian selama 30-60 menit, dengan frekuensi 3-5 kali dalam seminggu, dan selang waktu 1 hari untuk istirahat mampu mempengaruhi serta meningkatkan fungsi kognitif pada lansia. Aktivitas fisik mempengaruhi fungsi koginitf karena aktivitas fisik yang dilakukan secara rutin mampu menstimulasi protein pada otak guna mempertahankan dan membantu dalam proses pembentukan sel baru pada otak. Beberapa aktivitas fisik yang dapat dilakukan oleh lansia meliputi senam otak, latihan aerobik, jalan sehat, dan latihan akuatik. Kata Kunci: Aktivitas Fisik, Fungsi kognitif, Lanjut usia

Abstract

Anemia  menjadi salah satu masalah yang  terjadi pada remaja saat ini, prevalensi anemia mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun. Data Riskesdas tahun 2013 sejumlah  37,1% meningkat  48,9% tahun 2018. Kurangnya asupan zat besi serta perdarahan yang terjadi saat menstruasi menjadi factor yang mendukung terjadinya anemia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan kejadian anemia dan karakteristiknya pada remaja putri di Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan metode observasional potong lintang. Pengumpulan  data  bersumber  dari data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner   pada 62 remaja putri. Diagnosis anemia  ditegakkan berdasarkan hasil pengukuran kadar hemoglobin (Hb).  Remaja putri yang mengalami anemi sebanyak 24,2%. Proporsi anemia paling tinggi ditemukan pada umur 17 – 25 tahun (66,1%), tinggi badan 156 – 160 cm (40,3%), berat badan 35- 50 kg (53,2%), lingkar lengan atas 23,6 – 27 cm (41,9%), kadar hemoglobin >12 (75,8%), siklus haid teratur (72,6%), durasi haid >5 hari (59,7%), dan nyeri haid (79%). Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa sosialisasi dan penyuluhan anemia pada remaja putri perlu dilaksanakan

Abstract

Gout is a degenerative problem that attacks the joints and is caused by complications of hyperuricemia. One therapy to reduce pain is a warm compress with red ginger water. Red ginger is bitter, spicy and also anti-inflammatory so it can reduce joint pain. This study aims to describe the management of warm compress therapy with red ginger water for pain in subjects with gout. This research used a qualitative research design with a case study approach in the Cikole Community Health Center Work Area, West Bandung Regency from March 29-April 4 2024, with two subjects who experienced gout, who were experiencing moderate pain (scale 1-6). The intervention was carried out for seven consecutive days with a duration of 15 minutes in the afternoon at each patient's home. Pain level assessment was measured using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). This research shows that a warm compress with red ginger water can reduce moderate pain to mild pain. The reduction in pain is due to the effect of the active substance content in red ginger which is able to inhibit the formation of prostaglandins and leukotrienes which can transmit impulses to the brain to block painful stimuli, so that pain impulses to the brain will be reduced and pain will decrease. Therefore, it is recommended to provide warm compress therapy with red ginger water to patients suffering from gout.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh dosen pasca pandemic Covid-19 adalah peningkatan beban kerja, kesulitan dalam menghadapi karakter siswa, tantangan membagi waktu antara peran sebagai dosen dan anggota keluarga, serta keterbatasan waktu untuk melakukan aktivitas fisik dan olahraga. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi “Hubungan Aktivitas Fisik Dengan Kesehatan Mental Emosional Pada Dosen Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia”. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Cross-Sectional Survey. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2022 sampai bulan Oktober 2022. Instrumen dalam penelitian menggunakan aktivitas fisik Indeks Baecke dan The Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas fisik dari 116 responden, sebanyak 52 (44,8%) termasuk kategori aktivitas fisik rendah, sedangkan untuk kategori aktivitas fisik sedang sebanyak 54 (46,6%), dan 10 (8,5%) dalam kategori aktivitas fisik tinggi. Sedangkan untuk kesehatan mental dari 116 responden, sebanyak 97 (83,6%) memiliki tingkat kesehatan mental yang baik, 15 (12,9%) memiliki tingkat kesehatan mental cukup, dan 4 (4.51%) yang memiliki tingkat kesehatan mental kurang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai Pearson Chi Square = 9,991 dan nilai signifikansi p = 0,04 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara aktivitas fisik dengan kesehatan mental pada dosen UPI. Diharapkan Kementerian dan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dapat memberikan motivasi dan dorongan kepada dosen agar meningkatkan aktivitas fisik sehari-hari. The research design used in this research is quantitative with a Cross-Sectional Survey approach. This research was conducted from May 2022 to October 2022. Based on the results of the study showed that the physical activity of 116 respondents, as many as 52 (44.8%) included in the category of low physical activity, while for the category of moderate physical activity as many as 54 (46.6%), and 10 (8.5%) in the category high physical activity. It is hoped that the Ministry and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia can provide motivation and encouragement to lecturers to increase their daily physical activity. Abstract

The problem that is often experienced among the elderly at this time is having difficulty sleeping. One that occurs in the elderly is the occurrence of insomnia. Insomnia can be overcome by giving murottal therapy. Murottal is the chanting of the holy verses of the Koran which is recorded and played at a slow and harmonious tempo so that it can increase relaxation and improve the circadian rhythm of the elderly so that their sleep quality improves. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method using a case study approach with two subjects aged 60 years and over who experience insomnia. The intervention carried out is murottal therapy surah ar-rahman which is carried out for 6 consecutive days with a duration of 15 minutes carried out at PTSW Budi Pertiwi from June 20-26, 2023. Assessment of insomnia scores using the Insomnia Rating Scale Assessment. From this study, it was found that murottal therapy can improve sleep quality so that there is a decrease in scores from scores 13-18 (moderate insomnia) to <8 (no insomnia). Based on the conclusion, there is an improvement in the sleep quality of the two respondents, where respondent 1 experienced a decrease in score from score 13 to score 4 and respondent 2 from score 14 to 7. It is proven that murottal therapy can improve sleep quality in the elderly.
