Abstract

MSMEs play a crucial role in driving economic growth and reducing poverty in South Kalimantan. Despite their significant contribution, this sector still faces various obstacles, including access to financing. Effective management of productive zakat funds has the potential to become an alternative funding instrument to address these challenges, while simultaneously increasing MSMEs empowerment and reducing poverty. Therefore, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of productive zakat management in supporting MSMEs and optimizing their impact on the regional economy. This study uses a descriptive-analytical approach in fieldwork. The method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The population in this study were all beneficiaries of productive zakat funds through the digital economic empowerment programs Micropreneur 2023, Zmart 2023, and Biofloc system fisheries cultivation, as well as laying hen farmers, with a population of 160 beneficiaries and a research sample of 74 respondents accompanied by 8 informants. The research results show that the management of productive zakat through various programs implemented by Baznas in South Kalimantan has been running well, with most indicators achieving a high level of effectiveness. Two indicators, namely target success and program satisfaction, were declared effective, while the levels of input and output, as well as program achievement, were deemed quite effective. These findings indicate that productive zakat management plays a significant role as an alternative funding instrument in supporting MSMEs, while also making a real contribution to improving the community's economy by channeling funds to mustahik (recipients of zakat) who run MSME-scale businesses.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop multigroup Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on structural and measurement models to analyze waste management behavior patterns in Batu City. Secondary data were used from 120 respondents who were grouped into two: Group 1 (away from tourism) and Group 2 (near tourism). Latent variables include environmental quality, waste bank utilization, awareness of the use of 3R, and economic benefits from waste. The analysis was carried out by validity, reliability, linearity (Ramsey RESET), and multigroup SEM. The validity and reliability results showed that all indicators met the criteria (Corrected Item Total Correlation 0.3; Cronbach's Alpha 0.6). The linearity test proves that the relationship between variables is linear. Measurement models using formative indicators showed significant contributions, such as environmental maintenance (Group 1 coefficient: 0.369; Group 2: 0.518) and reuse effectiveness (Group 1 coefficient: 0.555; Group 2: 0.590). In the structural model, environmental quality had a stronger direct effect on 3R awareness in Group 2 (near tourism; coefficient: 0.432), while the use of waste banks had a more effect on Group 1 (away from tourism; coefficient: 0.414). The indirect effects through 3R awareness were also significant, with a total determination coefficient of 0.732, suggesting the model was able to explain 73.2% of the data variance. This study highlights the importance of a location-based approach in waste management policies, particularly the optimization of waste banks in areas far from tourism (Group 1) and the increase of 3R awareness in areas near tourism (Group 2).

Abstract

This research aims to explore the conditions of ethical dilemmas in mass media journalists during the 2024 General Election. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach using interview techniques. There were 3 participants. The results of the interview will be analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the study, it is known that the ethical dilemma felt by the participants, indirectly and unconsciously by the participants, was actually seen during the interview. Although participants always remember and hold the principle of remaining neutral, objective and always writing news accurately while carrying out their duties as Journalists, as citizens, participants are still aware of their rights and also their role during the election to continue to vote in support of the candidate pair they support. This tends to cause a feeling of dilemma to choose between 2 situations, namely the tendency to support certain candidates or maintain the integrity of the profession as journalism while covering the 2024 election. However, it is also known that participants do uphold the principles, values, individual rights, and individual obligations as journalists in writing news accurately and objectively. Thus, it can be said that the participants are aware of the ethical elements of a journalist, which causes control/control over the behavior of the participants while carrying out their duties as journalists.
