Abstract

The use of smartphones in education has experienced rapid development in line with advances in information and communication technology. This study aims to examine the benefits of smartphone use in the learning process, both for teachers and students, and how it is applied, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. The method used in this study is a literature review and descriptive analysis of relevant sources. The results show that smartphones play an important role in supporting teaching and learning activities, especially in accessing learning resources and storing learning materials. Teachers can easily obtain teaching references through the internet, while students can access learning materials independently and flexibly anytime and anywhere.In addition, the use of smartphones can increase students' motivation and participation in learning because it provides various engaging learning media such as videos, audios, and educational applications. In the context of Islamic Religious Education, smartphones are a very useful tool for accessing digital Qur’an, hadiths, religious lectures, tafsir, and various online learning platforms that support a more interactive and contextual understanding of religious values. With wise and directed use, smartphones can become a strategic tool for improving the quality of learning and supporting educational transformation towards a more responsive and inclusive digital era. These findings reinforce the importance of integrating mobile technology into modern learning strategies, especially in strengthening students’ character and spiritual values

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of the effectiveness and reformulation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the modern era. Design/methods/approach – The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources and data collection techniques used were obtained from books, journals, or scientific articles, and the analysis technique used was content analysis. Findings – The results of the study show that, first, changes to Islamic Religious Education in the modern era are very complex, because the elements of modernity continue to undergo changes in terms of teaching, material, methods, and approaches. The effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the modern era requires a reformulation of learning that is contextual and adaptive. Therefore, the differences that arise due to the development of science and technology need to be seen as a gift that enriches comprehensive and holistic understanding; second, learning is directed at solving the problems of modernity faced by Muslims through scientific, social, and religious approaches; third, the delivery of Islamic knowledge is not dogmatic, but emphasizes historical analysis so that students are able to understand the dynamics of the development of Islamic teachings; fourth, text-based learning methods must be balanced with critical analysis of social realities to make them more applicable; fifth, strengthening the spiritual dimension through Sufism is a fundamental requirement in shaping religious character; sixth, the effectiveness of Islamic Education is not only measured by individual piety, but also by its contribution to building social piety.    Research implications/limitations – Data sources are limited to online and offline scientific literature based on literature reviews as the primary source. Future researchers can use more in-depth techniques and methods such as research and development or case studies. Originality/value – The results of this study provide knowledge and implications for IRE teaching models and their reformulation to contribute to the challenges and progress of the times, so that synergy between various transformations can be achieved.

Abstract

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), particularly in the transformation of Islamic religious education through the social media platform Instagram, has brought significant changes in the way religious information is delivered and received. Instagram has seen growth in various sectors, including education. It also offers new opportunities in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially in enhancing accessibility to learning materials and facilitating interaction between teachers and students. However, the use of Instagram also presents challenges, such as the spread of misinformation or hoaxes. This study aims to analyze how Instagram is used as a tool for Islamic religious education and its impact on users’ understanding and religious practices. The research method employs a qualitative approach through content analysis and in-depth interviews.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has brought major changes in various aspects of life, including in the field of education. One of the skills that is increasingly important in this digital era is programming (coding). This article discusses the urgency of including coding subjects into the education curriculum in Indonesia, the benefits that students can get, and the challenges in its implementation. Through literature studies and education policy analysis, this article shows that coding not only improves technical skills but also critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity of students. This policy has benefits that are much needed in the current era 4.0 and society 5.0. For educational, social, business and innovation needs in various fields. In addition to the benefits, there are challenges that must be faced by the government and society in implementing this policy, developing human resources, completing infrastructure, collaborating with the technology industry and others. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah membawa perubahan besar dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Salah satu keterampilan yang semakin penting di era digital ini adalah pemrograman (coding). Artikel ini membahas tentang integrasi pembelajaran coding ke dalam kurikulum nasional, manfaat yang bisa didapatkan murid, dan tantangan dalam implementasinya. Melalui studi literatur dan analisis kebijakan pendidikan, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa coding tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan teknis tetapi juga berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan kreativitas. Kebijakan ini memiliki manfaat yang sangat dibutuhkan di era 4.0 dan masyarakat 5.0 saat ini. Untuk kebutuhan pendidikan, sosial, bisnis, dan inovasi di berbagai bidang. Selain manfaat, ada tantangan yang harus dihadapi pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam mengimplementasikan kebijakan ini, antara lain mengembangkan kualitas sumber daya manusia, melengkapi infrastruktur, berkolaborasi dengan industri teknologi dan lainnya. Kata Kunci :  Integrasi; Kurikulum Nasional; Pembelajaran Coding.

Abstract

Revitalisasi Pendidikan Islam Pada Madrasah. Upaya merekosiliasi ajaran agama dengan era modern terus dilakukan kaum muslimin di madrasah. Hal ini untuk menunjukkan bahwa Islam tidak bertentangan dengan era modern. Sebab di era modern kehidupan manusia akan ditandai oleh dua kecendrungan yang saling bertentangan dengan Islam, yakni; ilmu pengetahuan vs iman takwa, ajaran vs sekulerisasi serta spiritual vs material. Untuk itu pendidikan Islam pada madrasah juga harus meningkatkan peranannya sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam untuk merespon kemajuan modernisasi saat ini, misalnya dengan merevitalisasi sistem pendidikannya yang pro perubahan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, mempersiapkan lulusan madrasah yang handal sehingga dapat mengimbangi arus modernisasi yang ada dan tidak ketinggalan zaman dengan tidak meninggalkan program pendidikan madrasah yang sudah ada sejak dahulu dan cocok dengan era modern pada abad 21 ini.

Abstract

Modernization that is happening today has brought changes to various aspects of life areas including education. The modernization of education occurred in the 19th century which was driven by the ruling elite who wanted Muslims not to be left behind by western nations by learning and adopting western progress, while modernization in Indonesia occurred in the 20th century which originated from the colonizers which was realized by establishing modern schools by struggle organizations led by reform figures. In the modern era, Islamic religious education and Islamic educational institutions are required to be professional, because society has undergone changes by prioritizing rationality. Efforts to reconcile religious teachings and the modern era continue to be made by Muslims to show that Islam is appropriate and does not conflict with the modern era. In the modern era, human life will be characterized by two tendencies that contradict each other/oppose Islam. Advances in science and technology (science and technology) bring positive and negative influences to human life, both of which are opposed to each other so that what is needed now is whether Islamic religious education is able to overcome and dialogue. This article will discuss modernization in education along with examples in an effort to become a quality school.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers' educational qualifications, teaching competence, and student learning outcomes through a library reseach approach. Educational qualifications are considered one of the key factors influencing teacher’s ability to design, implement, and evaluate learning effectively. By reviewing various literature sources, scientific journals, and previous research findings, this study finds a consistent relationship between the level of teachers’educational qualifications and their teaching competence, as will as its impact on student learning outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of improving teacher academic qualifications as part of a strategy to enhance overall education quality

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and formulate strategic solutions for implementing Islamic education in the era of the digital revolution and artificial intelligence (AI). The research method used is conceptual qualitative research with a library research approach. The research instruments consisted of academic literature sources, such as national and international scientific journals, books, and relevant online articles. Data analysis techniques were conducted descriptively and analytically to identify challenges and opportunities, and to formulate strategies for developing AI-based Islamic education. The results show that Islamic education faces five main challenges: the digital infrastructure gap, low digital literacy of educators and students, ethical and spiritual value issues, curriculum unpreparedness for technology integration, and the rise of digital disinformation. Strategic solutions found include strengthening the digital competence of Islamic Education teachers, reconstructing the curriculum based on AI ethics, developing digital etiquette, collaboration between educational institutions and the technology industry, and ethical policy governance in the use of AI. Thus, Islamic education needs to integrate technology creatively while        remaining grounded in Islamic values to remain relevant in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges and solutions of Islamic education in the digital era in an effort to maintain religious values in the midst of the rapid flow of modernization and technological development. This research uses the library research method by examining various relevant literature sources, such as books, journals, and previous research results. The results of the study show that technological advances have a great influence on students' learning patterns, behaviors, and moral values. However, with the right strategy, technology can also be used as a means of da'wah and strengthening Islamic character. Efforts that need to be made include the integration of Islamic values in digital-based learning, improving teachers' competence in technological literacy, and collaboration between schools, families, and communities. This research emphasizes that Islamic education must be adaptive to the development of the times, but still adhere to religious values in order to produce a generation of Muslims who are intelligent, faithful, and noble. In addition, curriculum innovation that is responsive to the needs of the times and the use of safe and directed digital media is needed to support the formation of students' character comprehensively.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the behavior, morals, and ways of thinking of the younger generation. In this context, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers not only act as instructors (mu'allim), but also as murabbi who foster and instill moral values. This article aims to emphasize the importance of the role of PAI teachers as moral educators in facing the era of technological disruption. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study from various journals and books related to modern Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that the role of PAI teachers as murabbi encompasses three main aspects: (1) spiritual role models, (2) character development based on Islamic values, and (3) utilization of technology as a medium for da'wah and moral education. By combining traditional Islamic values and digital innovation, PAI teachers can maintain the relevance of Islamic education amidst the challenges of modernization.
