Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the digital-based “Power OZ” media and to determine the improvement of students’ narrative writing skills through the use of the media. “Power OZ” media integrates Microsoft PowerPoint, OBS Studio, and Zoom in narrative writing instruction. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study was conducted in two cycles involving 27 sixth-grade students of Ubay bin Ka’ab Class at SDIT Muhammadiyah Sinar Fajar in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, writing skill tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the implementation of “Power OZ” media improved students’ narrative writing skills. The students’ average score increased from 77.96 in the pre-cycle to 82.22 in Cycle 1 and increased again to 87.96 in Cycle 2. The percentage of learning mastery improved from 59% in the pre-cycle to 80% in Cycle 1 and reached 85% in Cycle 2. The use of “Power OZ” media also increased students’ activeness, enthusiasm, and self-confidence in narrative writing learning activities. “Power OZ” media can be used as an alternative digital learning innovation to improve elementary school students’ narrative writing skills.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the fantasy story writing skills of grade VII E students at MTs Negeri 5 Klaten through the implementation of the Picture and Picture learning model. Fantasy writing skills are essential for students as they develop creative, systematic, and imaginative thinking abilities. However, initial observations showed that students’ writing skills were still low, particularly in developing ideas, organizing story plots, and using appropriate language elements. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 29 students of grade VII E MTs Negeri 5 Klaten. Data were collected through writing tests, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed an improvement in students’ fantasy writing skills from the pre-cycle to Cycle 2. In the pre-cycle, the average score was 69.14 with a mastery level of 34%. In Cycle 1, it increased to 75.17 with 68% mastery. In Cycle 2, it further increased to 80.34 with 86% mastery, exceeding the predetermined success indicator of 80%. The implementation of the Picture and Picture model helped students develop story ideas through visual media, organize plots more coherently, and improve their creativity and participation in learning activities.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by card media and to improve the interview text writing skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Paseban in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using a spiral design consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The research subjects consisted of 22 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by card media was able to improve students’ learning activities, teachers’ teaching skills, and students’ achievement in writing interview texts. Students became more active in discussions, asking questions, expressing opinions, and conducting direct interview practices. Teachers’ teaching skills also improved through the use of more varied, interactive, and contextual learning methods and media. Students’ learning outcomes improved in each cycle until classical learning mastery was achieved. Learning through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by card media made the learning process more meaningful because students gained direct experience in preparing interview questions, conducting interviews, and writing interview texts systematically. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by card media can be used as an alternative Indonesian language learning model to improve elementary school students’ writing skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading and writing skills of first-grade elementary school students, which are caused by the use of conventional teaching methods that are unable to adequately accommodate the characteristics of the students. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method on the reading and writing skills of first-grade students at SD N 2 Jatipuro in the 2025/2026 academic year. The type of research used is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design (nonequivalent control group design). The subjects of this study were 40 students, consisting of 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. Data collection techniques included tests (pre-test and post-test) and observation. Based on the research results and discussion, it was found that the students’ reading and writing skills improved after the implementation of the CIRC method. This is evidenced by the significance value of the t-test, which indicates p < 0.05, thus accepting the alternative hypothesis (Ha).Therefore, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method has a significant effect on the reading and writing skills of first-grade students.

Master Program of Language Education. Widya Dharma University Klaten, 2026. The problems of this research were: 1) Can the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) learning model improve the learning motivation of sixth grade students at SD Negeri Mojosongo 5 Surakarta?; 2) Can the SAVI learning model improve students’ listening skills in identifying the intrinsic elements of stories? The objectives of this research were: 1) To determine the improvement of students’ learning motivation through the implementation of the SAVI learning model; 2) To determine the improvement of students’ listening skills in identifying the intrinsic elements of stories through the implementation of the SAVI learning model for sixth grade students of SD Negeri Mojosongo 5 Surakarta in the academic year 2025/2026. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this research were 28 students of class VI B at SD Negeri Mojosongo 5 Surakarta. The data were collected through observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted to determine the extent to which the implementation of the SAVI learning model assisted by folklore videos could improve students’ learning motivation and listening skills in identifying the intrinsic elements of stories. The results of the research showed that the implementation of the SAVI learning model was able to improve students’ learning motivation and listening skills. Students’ learning motivation increased from 40% in the pre-cycle to 71% in cycle I and increased to 88% in cycle II. The average score of students’ listening skills increased from 72 in the pre-cycle to 79 in cycle I and increased to 88 in cycle II. The percentage of learning completeness also increased from 35.7% in the pre-cycle to 85.7% in cycle I and reached 100% in cycle II. The SAVI learning model is very appropriate to be applied in Indonesian language learning because it involves students’ physical activities, auditory, visual observation, and intellectual activities in an integrated manner, making the learning process more active and meaningful.
