Abstract

The social media time line, especially Twitter, is still interesting to follow. Various tweets delivered by the public are very informative and varied. This information should be able to be used further by utilizing the topic of conversation trends at one time. In this paper, the authors cluster the tweet data with the TF-IDF algorithm and the K-Mean method using the python programming language. The results of the tweet data clustering show predictions or possible topics of conversation that are being widely discussed by netizens. Finally, the data can be used to make decisions that utilize community sentiment towards an event through social media like Twitter.

Abstract

In 2024, air pollution levels in Jakarta were recorded as the highest in Southeast Asia, based on various air quality monitoring reports. This condition has become an increasingly alarming environmental issue, with pollution levels frequently exceeding the safe threshold set by the World Health Organization (WHO). One of the efforts by the Jakarta Provincial Government to address this problem is a free plant distribution program for the public. Plants play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and reducing airborne pollutant particles. However, plant maintenance—especially watering—poses its own challenges. Inefficient watering can cause plants to experience stress, wilt, or even die. With the advancement of technology, an automatic plant watering system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) presents a potential solution to improve the efficiency and sustainability of plant care. This study aims to develop a smart plant watering system application based on IoT that can automatically control watering based on real-time soil moisture levels. The system was applied to spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) grown in pots with a diameter of 15 cm. By using an ESP32 microcontroller, a soil moisture sensor (Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor v1.2), an air temperature and humidity sensor (DHT11), and a water pump, the system automatically activates watering when the soil moisture is below 55% and stops when it exceeds 65%. Sensor data is stored in a database and displayed through a web-based application for remote monitoring.

Abstract

Due to land scarcity, rapid urbanization, and shrinking agricultural space, urban environments such as Jakarta face increasing agricultural challenges. By enabling efficient, soil-free cultivation in limited areas, hydroponics has emerged as a promising solution to address these issues. However, ensuring the consistency of the quality of hydroponic water systems, especially in terms of pH and total dissolved solids (TDS), is often done manually, which is ineffective and prone to human error. Several IoT-based solutions have been proposed; however, many rely on cloud services or mobile platforms, which limit accessibility in offline environments. This study introduces a scalable, internet-independent hydroponic water quality monitoring system that uses pH and TDS sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller. A Node-RED dashboard, accessible by a browser on a local network, is used by the system to display data in real time, using the MQTT protocol. The system, developed using the IoT Platform Design Methodology, underwent black-box testing to ensure that its data acquisition, transmission, and visualization were accurate. The results showed reliable performance without any functional errors. Classified as a Level 2 IoT system, it allows real-time monitoring without automation and the possibility of future expansion such as data storage and actuator control. The proposed system provides a practical and scalable solution for urban hydroponic farmers working in areas with limited internet connectivity.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop CultureFun, a user-centered web-based platform for cultural learning among younger generations. The study addressed the limitation of existing digital cultural learning media, which often rely on text-heavy content and provide limited interactivity. User-Centered Design and Design-Based Research were applied to guide needfinding, empathy-based analysis, iterative prototyping, and usability evaluation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observation involving twelve participants aged 10–23 years. The final prototype was evaluated using the System Usability Scale. The results showed that CultureFun was perceived as easy to use and engaging, particularly because the platform presented short cultural content supported by images, quizzes, and mini-games. The platform achieved an average usability score of 72.08, indicating good and acceptable usability. This study concludes that integrating user-centered analysis, iterative prototyping, and gamified interaction can support the development of an effective and usable digital cultural learning platform. However, the findings were limited by the small sample size and the focus on usability rather than direct measurement of learning effectiveness. Future studies are recommended to involve more diverse participants and examine long-term cultural knowledge retention.

Abstract

Abstract:  This community service program aims to assist schools in identifying students’ interests and talents more quickly and efficiently through the development of a web-based screening application. The activity was conducted at SMK PKP Cibubur, targeting junior high school students as prospective applicants. The implementation of this program consisted of several stages, including joint planning with partners, needs analysis, instrument design based on the Rothwell Miller Interest Blank (RMIB), application design and development using Moodle with PHP and MySQL, user training, screening implementation, as well as evaluation and data processing. The results show that the developed application facilitates the online assessment of students’ interests and talents, allowing participants to obtain results immediately after completing the test. The program involved 378 students and was carried out successfully. Based on the evaluation results, user acceptance reached an average of 72%, categorized as “agree,” while the school expressed high satisfaction due to the faster, easier, and more efficient process without requiring significant resources. Therefore, the web-based screening application in this program effectively supports the process of identifying students’ interests and providing appropriate major recommendations.
